Chapter 360 - Chapter 360: Kagura vs. Yukino

"Ankh!!"

After securing ten points cleanly for Team B and returning victorious, Mirajane rushed over to Ankh as soon as she left the arena.

Watching Mirajane cling to Ankh like a koala, Laxus couldn't help but complain, "You two were apart for less than five minutes. Is it really necessary to act like you've been reunited after a long separation?"

Mirajane nuzzled against Ankh's chest contentedly and said, "It's only natural that Laxus wouldn't understand such things."

Laxus: (◣д◢)?

It really felt like ever since Mirajane started dating, her personality had changed again—she'd become... a lot more childish.

Juvia watched them enviously while also casting a sympathetic glance toward Blue Pegasus, "What a shame... Miss Jenny ran into Miss Mirajane..."

Over at Blue Pegasus, a heartbroken Jenny went to seek comfort from her boyfriend—Hibiki of the Trimens.

Seeing this from afar, Juvia's face fell.

'Damn it, everyone has a partner! Juvia wants to snuggle up to Gray-sama too!'

Ankh rubbed Mirajane's cheeks as if soothing a child, secretly amused.

Unlike Jenny, Mira had never taken up modeling out of passion.

Initially, Mira had started working as a model for Sorcerer Weekly during her "fun-seeking" phase, just as an entertaining job.

But she unexpectedly became popular, and for the sake of the high pay, she simply kept at it.

Jenny had assumed Mirajane cared deeply about the job, which led to today's farce.

"Alright, let's watch the next match. Both sides are worth paying attention to."

On the commentator's platform, Chapati was earnestly introducing the two competitors about to take the stage.

"The final match of the second day of the Grand Magic Games: Yukino of Sabertooth! Versus Kagura of Mermaid Heel!"

"Another battle between beauties! And one is from the strongest guild while the other is the guild's ace!"

On Sabertooth's spectator stand, a cute green cat wearing a pink frog costume swayed its tail and asked curiously, "Lector, who do you think will win?"

Lector responded discontentedly, "Isn't it obvious? Although Yukino is a substitute, she'll definitely win easily!"

"Frosch thinks so too!"

"Can't be helped, since someone scored zero points in the competition," Orga teased.

Sting frowned displeased, saying, "Whatever, combat is our specialty."

"Yukino, you should know why we let you join this team, right?"

In a peculiar team dynamic, Sting, who failed to score any points in the competition, was actually pressuring Yukino who was about to take the stage.

Yukino maintained her aloof expression, though a hint of determination flashed in her eyes as she slowly walked toward the arena.

"I understand—I must not tarnish the reputation of the strongest guild, Sabertooth!"

Though she said this, when actually facing Mermaid Heel's strongest Mage, Kagura in her white military uniform, Yukino couldn't help but take a nervous breath.

But she didn't want to show her nervousness, so Yukino steadied her gaze and looked directly at Kagura.

"Before the match begins, shall we continue the tradition from the previous two matches and make a wager?"

Kagura's expression remained stern as she replied, "I don't want to engage in such meaningless matters."

"Are you afraid?"

A slight flicker passed through Kagura's eyes as she responded, "You're not worth being afraid of."

"Then... let's bet with our lives," Yukino said with complete seriousness, dropping a bombshell with her words.

The audience panicked at this wager, but only Kagura could sense the complex emotions in her eyes.

It was fear—the terror of someone so afraid of being abandoned that they would risk everything.

The mature Kagura instantly recognized that this was just a little sister hiding behind a fierce exterior, desperately craving acceptance...

Had Sabertooth's internal situation deteriorated to this extent?

Kagura, who originally had no intention of accepting the wager, suddenly nodded and said:

"The wager stands. Come on."

"Thank you."

As the arena's special gong sounded, the second day of competition officially began!

With a determined expression, Yukino drew a golden-glowing key from her pocket!

"Celestial Spirit Magic?!"

Lucy exclaimed from the stands, "That girl uses it too?"

The audience's anticipation peaked.

After all, they vividly remembered Lucy's magnificent Celestial Spirit Magic from the first day!

"Open, Gate of the Fish! Pisces!"

"Fish?!"

Happy on the stands started drooling.

The Fairy Tail members familiar with Celestial Spirit Magic began imagining what Pisces might look like.

Though their imaginations didn't conjure normal-looking creatures...

As the golden light familiar to the audience flashed, two enormous figures soared into the sky.

"Pisces!"

Two massive black and white fish, resembling elongated eels, treated the sky as their ocean, swimming freely through the air.

Their enormous bodies occupied more than half of the arena's space.

The black and white giant fish charged down toward Kagura, who dodged and weaved, causing the two colossal creatures to crash violently into the ground instead.

As the two fish alternated their assaults, Kagura employed minimal evasive movements, skillfully avoiding each impact with seasoned precision.

Watching Kagura nimbly tread upon Pisces' bodies, leaping higher without a single touch, Yukino produced another golden key and opened a second gate.

Seeing the arena glow with golden light once more, Lucy sighed in exasperation, "Dual Gate Opening... She knows this technique too, and I just barely mastered it."

Ankh watched with keen interest as Yukino summoned the dark-skinned, charismatic Celestial Spirit, chuckling as he remarked.

"Using gravity against Kagura... wrong person to target again."

Observing Kagura's composed ease, Yukino commanded, "Libra, use Gravity Shift!"

"Understood!"

Libra spread its arms, transforming its body into a balance scale, the two weights suspended from its hands beginning to sway.

An immense gravitational force pressed down from above, halting Kagura's previously agile movements.

Pisces' two fish encircled Kagura, aiming to ensnare her while she was suppressed by Libra's power!

"If this is all the strength you have..."

Kagura bent her knees and forcefully pushed off the ground, her body soaring skyward like a swift swallow, as if the gravity suppression released by Libra didn't exist.

"Kagura's magic is advanced Gravity magic, after all!"

Risley of Mermaid Heel proudly watched the stunned audience and explained with a smile, "My magic was all taught by Kagura. How could such power possibly restrain her!"

Kagura rested one hand on her sword hilt, her voice cold and deliberate as she stated.

"If this is your limit, I'll be taking your life!"
