A silver white mountain had sent out radiance that vaporized the Heaven-and-Earth Sourcewater and Baizhong Supreme's avatar. Even Lin Moyu frowned at this sight. However weak Baizhong's avatar might be, it was still a Supreme avatar. How could it be vaporized in an instant? Even if it entered another Heaven-and-Earth and was suppressed, it should not be like this. Moreover, the Heaven-and-Earth Sourcewater was no ordinary thing. Vaporizing it was not easy either. The only conclusion was that this silver white mountain was extremely dangerous, and that Heaven-and-Earth itself was extremely dangerous. For a Heaven-and-Earth to reach such a level of danger, its tier had to be very high.
Lin Moyu passed what he had seen to the Hongmeng Gem. "Do you know what this is?"
This time the Hongmeng Gem did not hesitate and quickly gave an answer. "It should be that Heaven-and-Earth."
Lin Moyu was a little surprised that the Hongmeng Gem responded so quickly and with such certainty. What it said next explained why.
There were uncountable Heavens-and-Earth. Even the Hongmeng Gem could not possibly have seen them all. But those at Seven Wheels and above were far fewer. The higher the tier of a Heaven-and-Earth, the fewer there were. In particular there were a few special ones. Once the Hongmeng Gem had seen them, it never forgot. Among them was a Heaven-and-Earth the Hongmeng Gem had named the silver white Heaven. There were no living beings in this Heaven-and-Earth. It resembled a small Life-Forbidden Zone. No living being could survive within. So the name of this Heaven-and-Earth was something the Hongmeng Gem came up with on its own.
Within the silver white Heaven there was only one kind of thing, a silver white substance. The Hongmeng Gem did not know what it was. The silver white substance was incredibly tiny, so small as to be invisible to the naked eye. But when it fused together in numbers too great to count, it became visible and formed what looked like mountain-shaped things. They looked like mountains but were not mountains. They were formed by countless microscopic silver white particles. What they emitted as radiance was actually not light either, but the same silver white substance.
Any outsider, whether living being or any other thing, when it touched this silver white substance, would be dissolved. When this dissolution happened, it looked as if the target was being vaporized. The silver white Heaven was a solid Eight-Wheel Heaven and an aberration among Eight-Wheel Heavens. Its rules were extremely simple, with almost no Dao at all. It was an extreme.
Lin Moyu listened to all that the Hongmeng Gem said about the silver white Heaven. Because of how unusual it was, the Hongmeng Gem remembered it very clearly. Boyang and Baizhong Supremes thought Lin Moyu was deep in thought, so they did not disturb him. After the Hongmeng Gem finished, Lin Moyu summed it up.
"So in the end you do not know what it is either. You only know it is very strange."
"I tried to study it," the Hongmeng Gem said. "If I am not mistaken, this silver white substance should have some relation to the Life-Forbidden Zone."
"Looks like I have to go there to know for sure," Lin Moyu said. "I actually hope it is related. Maybe I can use it to court death inside."
"I still feel it is too dangerous," the Hongmeng Gem said. "Master, why not send an avatar first to test it?"
Lin Moyu had already formed his own judgment. He did not know whether that Heaven-and-Earth had a rules lifeform. Rules lifeforms were not true living beings. When the silver white Heaven was said to have no living beings at all, that meant no normal living beings, not rules lifeforms. If a rules lifeform had been born there, it would not be impossible.
"Before the Great Annihilation, it definitely had no rules lifeforms," the Hongmeng Gem said. "Now I am not sure. The breaking of a Heaven-and-Earth can cause unknown changes. Just because there were no rules lifeforms in the past does not mean there are none now."
Lin Moyu considered all possibilities. The silver white Heaven was dangerous, but it was an Eight-Wheel Heaven. That point alone was very important to him. If he could obtain it, his own Yushen Heaven-and-Earth should be able to truly undergo a qualitative change. With his mind made up and knowing he had to go, Lin Moyu said, "I will be going to this Heaven-and-Earth."
Baizhong Supreme's eyes brightened slightly. "Then Daoist Lin must be careful."
Lin Moyu nodded and condensed two lumps of Primordial-Beginning Qi, handing one each to Baizhong and Boyang. "This is part of the payment. If I die in there, the two of you will not walk away with nothing. If I return safely, I will provide another part of the payment."
Pay some first and pay the rest when complete. This manner of dealing was quite fair and very much in line with how Supremes acted. Baizhong and Boyang looked at the Primordial-Beginning Qi, their old eyes shining bright. Primordial-Beginning Qi was extremely precious to them. It could help them raise their realms. Though this was not enough to let them completely break through, they could still become much stronger than they currently were. During the Great Calamity even Supremes were not safe. A bit more power to protect themselves could only be good.
Baizhong Supreme chuckled. "Boyang, you were unwilling to share Purple-Star's Primordial-Beginning Qi before. Now you have your own. Are you planning to use it yourself, or give it to Purple-Star?"
Boyang Supreme thought for a moment. "Purple-Star has already taken a small step forward. Without some special opportunity, even with more Primordial-Beginning Qi she will not be able to break through further. So I will use this lump myself."
Heavenly Venerables prized interests. They knew very clearly how to maximize benefit.
Lin Moyu did not concern himself with how they divided the Primordial-Beginning Qi. He fixed his gaze on the spatial passage. At his side a soul avatar appeared and then rushed into the passage, heading toward the silver white Heaven.
The passage was not long. The soul avatar quickly reached its exit. A familiar aura washed over him. Lin Moyu's heart stirred. He sensed a power similar to that of the Life-Forbidden Zone. He had dealt with the Life-Forbidden Zone many times. He would not mistake that special power of destruction. This confirmed that it was indeed related to the Life-Forbidden Zone, which meant the Hongmeng Gem had judged correctly. That gave Lin Moyu a bit more confidence.
The soul avatar flew out of the passage and saw a silver white mountain. There were many of them, one after another, floating in the void. Every one of these mountains emitted silver white radiance that turned the entire Heaven-and-Earth silver. The range of the silver white Heaven was not large. For an Eight-Wheel Heaven its scale was less than one percent of a normal Heaven-and-Earth. After being broken and turned into a Heaven-and-Earth remnant it had shrunk even further.
Silver white radiance fell upon the soul avatar and it quickly began to dissolve and vaporize. Unlike Baizhong Supreme's avatar, it was not vaporized in an instant. Lin Moyu's soul was far stronger than Baizhong's, and his soul avatar far exceeded Baizhong's avatar. That bought him quite a bit of time, enough for him to observe the silver white Heaven.
He saw the silver white substance the Hongmeng Gem had described. It was tiny motes of dust, invisible to the naked eye. When they touched his soul avatar, they and the avatar dissolved together. The vaporization consumed not only the soul avatar but also the silver white substance. It was as if the substance was committing suicide, using the consumption of itself to annihilate any outsider.
An idea moved through Lin Moyu's mind. He thought of a method. The method might be clumsy, but it should be effective, and very simple.
The soul avatar lasted for roughly one hundred breaths in the silver white Heaven before being completely vaporized. Compared to Baizhong Supreme's instant vaporization, this was many times better. He still had not seen the entirety of the silver white Heaven clearly, but he had seen clearly how the silver white substance vaporized him and from that thought up a way to respond.
The silver white substance possessed a destructive power similar to that of the Life-Forbidden Zone. It was much stronger than the destruction force that Heavens-and-Earth absorbed, but not as strong as pure destruction force itself. At the same time, when it vaporized outsiders, it also dissolved itself. Although it was everywhere, vaporizing outsiders still required a process, one that began at the outside and worked inward. Normally its vaporization speed was so fast it looked like an instant kill. But if the outsider was strong enough, it would still need some time.
Lin Moyu slowly opened his eyes. Baizhong Supreme at once asked, "How is it? Did you find a way?"
"I found a method," Lin Moyu said. "Whether it works, I will only know after I test it."
Baizhong Supreme was taken aback. He had tried several times and was vaporized instantly every time, unable to find any countermeasure. Lin Moyu had only tried once and already found a method. Regardless of whether it worked, he was clearly much better than Baizhong.
Boyang Supreme was also somewhat astonished. "Daoist Lin truly is not someone like us can compare to. I have tried many times and never thought of a good method."
"I will go test it," Lin Moyu said. As he spoke he had already flown into the passage, heading for the silver white Heaven.
This time it was his true body. He dared to do so because he was confident that even if he could not completely unravel the silver white Heaven, he could at least guarantee his own safety.
Baizhong and Boyang exchanged glances. He just went like that. Daoist Lin truly was unusual. The Destiny Venerable's divinations had not been wrong. Daoist Lin's uniqueness was beyond their imagination.
"He used Daoist Lin as a chess piece. I fear it will all rebound on him," Boyang Supreme said quietly.
Baizhong heard the implication. "What do you mean?"
Boyang Supreme waved a hand and formed an isolated space, lowering his voice. "The one Daoist Lin chose for this Heaven-and-Earth is a person."
In the silver white Heaven, Lin Moyu stood at the mouth of the spatial passage. One step forward and he would touch the silver white substance. With a thought, countless Undying Spirit Soldiers flew out of the passage and into the silver white Heaven.
In an instant smoke rose as enormous numbers of Undying Spirit Soldiers were vaporized. The Undying Spirit Soldiers' battle strength had already reached the edge of the quasi Supreme level, and their defense as well. They were even stronger than Baizhong Supreme's avatar. The silver white substance needed about three breaths to vaporize one Undying Spirit Soldier. Once fully vaporized, that soldier would swiftly be reborn inside the Technique Domain, taking less than two breaths. The time to be reborn was shorter than the time to be vaporized. In this way the Undying Spirit Soldiers could circulate endlessly with no fear of being exhausted.
The idea was workable. After his calculations, Lin Moyu confirmed that his plan was sound. His Undying Spirit Soldiers could resurrect without limit, while the silver white substance had a finite quantity. As it vaporized Undying Spirit Soldiers, it was being consumed at a shocking rate. As long as he continued this, the silver white substance would eventually be used up. It was a clumsy method, but very effective, and simple and direct.
Very soon, the Undying Spirit Soldiers had forcibly cleared out an area. Within this zone there was no silver white substance, making it completely safe. Only then did Lin Moyu stroll out of the passage, took out the Calamity Scepter, and said, "Find where the Heaven-and-Earth core is."
"Master, this method of yours is too useful," the Hongmeng Gem praised first, then immediately began to seek out the Heaven-and-Earth core.
The silver white Heaven was not large. The Hongmeng Gem quickly found the direction and pointed with its little hand. "Over there, not far. Master, be careful. It seems there is something strange there."
"Something strange? A rules lifeform?" Lin Moyu did not think too much about it. "I will go see."
He directed the Undying Spirit Soldiers to form a ten-layer ring, inside and out, and move like a turning wheel toward the direction of the Heaven-and-Earth core. Along the way, great numbers of Undying Spirit Soldiers were constantly vaporized and fell, then resurrected in the Technique Domain. No matter how many were vaporized, their numbers did not diminish. Wherever they passed, the silver white substance was completely consumed.
Lin Moyu stood at the center of the turning wheel, completely unaffected. To him, this silver white substance was not strong enough. It could not instantly kill him, so it could not be used to help his death-courting endeavors. Now that he had grown strong enough, places where he could continue to court death were very few. After flying for a day, he had no idea how many times the Undying Spirit Soldiers had died and resurrected. It was beyond counting. Lin Moyu saw with his own eyes as thousands of silver white mountains grew smaller and smaller until they finally disappeared completely. His presence had consumed countless silver white particles and left the entire Heaven-and-Earth empty.
At last he saw the Heaven-and-Earth core, an eight-story pagoda, also glowing silver white. Lin Moyu could tell that this pagoda was the source of the silver white substance.
"I see the Heaven-and-Earth core. Where is that strange thing you mentioned?" His gaze swept the area, but he did not see any soul flame or any strange existence the Hongmeng Gem had described.
The Hongmeng Gem pointed its little hand toward beneath the pagoda. "Down below. That is where the mountain is."
Under the pagoda was a silver white mountain, larger than the others, but otherwise no different. Lin Moyu did not see any soul flame. This thing was not a living being, not even a rules lifeform.
As he was observing, hundreds of large eyes suddenly appeared on the silver white mountain. The eyes erupted in silver light that turned into sharp arrows, instantly piercing through the ring of Undying Spirits. Hundreds of bolts of silver light fell on Lin Moyu at once. He had no time to react and was directly vaporized. Lin Moyu vanished without a trace, leaving only the Calamity Scepter hanging in the void. The silver white radiance did not harm the Calamity Scepter in the slightest. Its power came from the destruction force of the Life-Forbidden Zone. If the Calamity Scepter could survive in the Life-Forbidden Zone, surviving here was trivial.
The Hongmeng Gem did not worry at all. Purple radiance flashed at its side and the just vaporized Lin Moyu appeared again.
"Time rules and space rules," Lin Moyu said, his expression serious. It was not that he had not reacted before. He had reacted, but could not act on it. When the silver light erupted, the time and space of this Heaven-and-Earth were destroyed simultaneously. The moment he saw the silver light, it was already upon him.
The silver light was also formed by the silver white substance, only dozens of times more concentrated. That was why it could pierce through the defensive ring formed by the Undying Spirit Soldiers like an arrow.
Lin Moyu could not be bothered to think of some clever solution. He directly brandished the Calamity Scepter and swung hard. "I do not care what strange thing you are. I will settle it with a smash."
The Calamity Scepter grew enormous and swept across the mountain. With a bang the mountain shattered into dust. Silver particles filled the sky and silver light flashed as they rapidly reassembled, merging again in the blink of an eye. This time they did not form a mountain, but a hundred-eyed giant. Silver light shot like arrows once more, blasting toward Lin Moyu.
