"Is this the place?"
"Yes, this is it. Are you sure about this?" Uchiha Raizen asked, looking at Madara with a mixture of apprehension and resolve.
"Of course I'm sure," Madara replied dismissively. "I have the final say in these matters now. The old rules? They were made by the dead. I am Uchiha Madara. I am not bound by the whims of corpses."
"That sounds just like you," Raizen said with a wry chuckle. "Though I recall the contents of the tablet can only be read by those who have awakened the Mangekyō. I suppose I'll have to rely on you to translate it for me, Hokage-sama."
"Enough of that. Let's go." Madara led the way down a hidden staircase into the basement of the ancestral hall, a place humming with ancient, potent chakra.
Raizen followed, a sense of foreboding growing with each step. "So this is the Uchiha clan's greatest secret? The atmosphere down here is… oppressive."
"It is guarded by the wills of every past patriarch," Madara stated, his voice echoing in the dark chamber. His eyes narrowed. "And there's an uninvited guest here. An irritating presence. Heavenly Hand Power!"
His Mangekyō Sharingan swirled, and in the next instant, his hand shot into the solid stone floor, reappearing clutching a writhing, black, amorphous form.
"This is… Black Zetsu!" Raizen exclaimed.
"So, this is the 'black hand' you spoke of?" Madara asked, holding the squirming creature up to the dim light.
"One of them," Raizen confirmed, a chill running down his spine. "And he's been hiding here, of all places."
It was the perfect lair. Only the clan head was permitted here, and the dense concentration of Yin Release chakra perfectly masked Zetsu's own sinister energy. If not for Raizen's desire to see the infamous stone tablet that had warped Madara's destiny, they might never have found him.
"Now, talk. You are—" Madara began.
"Interesting ability," Zetsu's dual-toned voice rasped, interrupting him. "But anything less than absolute, all-encompassing power is useless against me." With a sickening squelch, he liquefied and slipped through Madara's grasp, oozing back towards the floor.
"Trying to escape? Not so easily! Sealing Technique: Myriad Prohibitions!"
Raizen's hands flew through a series of seals. He had never used fuinjutsu in combat before, preferring to rely on his pickup system's immediate power. But the talent orbs he had absorbed from the Uzumaki and his own studies had prepared him for this moment. Intricate, glowing patterns erupted from his hands, covering the floor and walls.
"A sealing technique? And one imbued with the Yang Release chakra of the Uzumaki?!" Zetsu hissed, his form recoiling. As a being of pure Yin, a powerful Yang-based seal was his natural counter.
"It seems you have a weakness after all," Raizen observed coldly. "Sealing Technique: Thousand-Layer Bind! Sealing Technique: Straight Seal!"
He layered three different powerful seals in rapid succession, creating a glowing, multi-layered prison that trapped Black Zetsu's form, causing him to shriek in genuine pain and surprise.
"This… this isn't your power! You can use the perfected techniques of others without any chakra cost?! How?!" Zetsu cried out, his plans unraveling before a variable he had never accounted for.
"This isn't question time," Raizen snarled, his patience gone. "Black Zetsu, I know your purpose. I know you altered the stone tablet here. Don't bother with any more of your tricks."
He turned from the trapped creature and faced the central artifact of the chamber—the ancient Uchiha stone tablet, inscribed with the Rikudō Sennin's writing.
"Lightning Release: False Darkness!"
A spear of concentrated lightning shot from his hand, not at Zetsu, but at the tablet itself. With a deafening crack, the ancient stone, the source of so much twisted ambition and future tragedy, shattered into a thousand pieces. The lies carved into it by a millennia-old will were destroyed in an instant, their power to corrupt, broken.
