Tutorial, the one based on which you'll receive corresponding rewards to climb the tower at the beginning and also one which will show the horrors of Tower. You can't stay out of tower forever after becoming a player. You need to at least spend few hours inside the tower every week or else you'll receive penalties first on stats, then restrictions on skills, then you'll be forcibly summoned into the tower level you're in and will be dropped at a place where most monsters spawn, whether you survive or not depends entirely on you as you'll have restrictions on both stats and your skills by that time. This is known as bane of weak among player in later stages.
A mechanism to show the cruelty and indifference of Tower. Any race regardless of their significance will be subjected to the judgement of tower.
And merely just spending time isn't enough, you need to try and clear your floor of tower and survive here.

And Damian he naively believed all that. He was an alchemist, but trying different skill combinations, he found something that turned everything upside down. A skill that defies all logic. Alchemy combined with dark magic, necromancy, and blood magic. Result, he created his own signature skill.

And that bitch laura feigned she is in love with him while using him to create artifacts and tools that even dwarves envied and in later stages made gods tremble. Damian is also a little careful though, he just lied he got this skill as a reward from a dungeon.
