''Togata Toriyama? Do wake up I would like that you get acquainted with the school seeing as this will be your new home as long as you study with us''. The driver says. ''Togata wakes up, his head still resting on the window.
''Uhhg, bad Idea sleeping on a window''. He says as he wakes up. ''Tick you there?''. Togata asks. ''I'm here Togata''. Tick replies. ''Where were you''. Togata asks. ''In your dreams of course''. Tick replies.
''Oh.. You know you don't have to do that anymore, I haven't had nightmares in years''. Togata teases. ''Hmmph! Well then now that you think you're all grown up then don't call me when you start to have nightmares!". Tick says offended. ''Uh huh''. Togata laughs.
''Well look at this, I guess this is it''. Togata says impressed as they enter a large gate, with trimmed bushes spelling out the initials of the name of the school. ''Now this is where a prodigy such as yourself should be studying! Elegant, refined and graceful, such a school is worthy of our presence!". Tick exclaims.
''You seem a bit too excited, what did you study at a place like this when you were alive? you don't tell me anything about your past life''. Togata says. ''No need, we will be parting ways eventually won't we''. Tick replies.
''Yeah...''. Togata replies slightly disappointed at the statement. ''We're here''. The driver says as he parks the car and opens the door for Togata. As he steps out he sees a grand entranceway, and 3 people standing outside.
''Welcome Togata! I am Victor Winkborrow the Vice Chancellor of this institution, I believe we've met before''. The Vice Chancellor says stretching out a hand. Togata reciprocates the gesture.
''These are my colleagues, Rodney Campbell, an highly esteemed teacher here at AstroNova. And Arthur Williams the Chancellor himself''. Victor says as he introduces them. ''Pleased to meet you Togata, it's an honor you will be attending our school, we raise only the best''. The Chancellor says.
Togata just nods and smiles. ''Yes, I'm sure you're quite bored and tired, but we just need to discuss the specifics of your time with us. Then you can go settle in, how's that sound?''. The Chancellor says. ''Of course, let's go''. Togata replies.
''Remember you must convince them to let you finish your education here in a year, it's the only way that we'll be on time for our plans''. Tick reminds. ''Don't worry I've got this, I've practiced''. Togata replies.
They lead him through the school and into the Chancellors office as they seat down, although Rodney does not.
''Your hair boy! We do not allow dyed hair in our school''. Rodney says. ''It's my natural hair''. Togata replies. ''How?''. Rodney asks in suspicion. ''It's a condition''. Togata says, He's probably told that lie so many times before he himself was starting to believe it.
''Rodney compose yourself. Well so, tell us what would you like to achieve at this institution''. The Chancellor asks. ''I'm going to be frank, Chancellor, I'm here because your school offers the best education in the country, but, I don't plan to stay long''. Togata replies with a smile.
''Why would that be?''. Rodney butts in. ''Well personal reasons, but if you would allow, I would like to finish my Highschool education in a year''. Togata replies.
''That's insane boy''. Rodney butts in again. ''Calm down Rodney, but yes Togata that is quite impossible, you do know you're on a scholarship here? and must maintain a certain degree of excellence, that would not be possible with that much workload''. Victor replies. The Chancellor just thinks to himself.
''Oh.. well that's unfortunate, I thought your school nurtured brilliant minds?''. Togata asks smugly. ''Of course we do, but that is insane, there's no rush Togata''. Victor replies. ''Well then you would know, children like me can't wait to make changes in the world and unfortunately the world says we should finish our education, the quicker the better isn't it?''. Togata asks. Everyone stays quiet.
''I like where you're going with this Togata keep it up''. Tick says proudly. ''Well, how many accolades would it bring to your institution by people knowing you don't only bring out the highest quality of students but also the quickest? you wouldn't want to miss that opportunity, and besides it's my scholarship at risk not yours''. Togata teases. The Chancellor stands up and smiles. ''Hmm, I've never seen ambition like yours, I like it... Sure we'll draw up the curriculum, and you do the studying''. The Chancellor says.
''Nice doing business with you gentlemen, now if you will excuse me, I need to settle in''. Togata smiles as he leaves the room. ''That boy is something else isn't he?''. The Vice Chancellor asks. ''Yes, he is, that confidence, poise and intellect, is far beyond his years, it's like he has some sort of old man in his brain, it's fascinating''. The Chancellor replies.
''He is proud, arrogant and in over his head, you will soon see he will fail and flunk out of our institution''. Rodney replies in frustration. ''Don't count your chickens before they hatch Rodney, that boy might surprise us''. The Chancellor replies.
''Well then let's get a goodnight's sleep we'll need it tomorrow''. Tick says. ''Don't have to tell me twice''. Togata replies.
''Everyone that goes to this school is the child of someone rich and famous, or someone in some sort of political power. It would make sense the school would have a few snobs but I didn't know there would be this many. As I walked through the halls the next morning I got stares and looks, people called me crazy, a show off or just in over my head, what I didn't know was that they would be right''. Togata monologues.
''Other than my classes, AP Physics, Math and others, the school requires you learn an instrument, choose a club to join and do sports. After less than a month I quickly found myself overwhelmed and an all too familiar feeling washed over me, one that I hadn't felt in a long time''. Togata says.
''Wake up boy! Togata!''. Tick shouts. ''Togata Toriyama.. I didn't know my classes were so boring you thought it would be a better use of your time to fall asleep, come up here and answer this question if you believe you are above us''. Rodney says. ''You've done it now boy''. Tick sighs.
Togata comes up and doesn't know a thing. ''It seems I was right about you all along, you will be severely punished, No clubs, nor extracurricular activities for 1 week, neither can you step outside your room other than classes, you are dismissed boy''. Rodney says arrogantly as the class laughs.
''That feeling was failure''. Togata says as he looks at Rodney who seems to smile. ''And worst of all, I think Rodney our Math's and Physics teacher hates me''. Togata continues.
''A week of no clubs or extracurriculars how's that a punishment''. Togata says. ''I can't believe you've gone and done it again''. Tick sighs as they enter Togata's room and Togata locks the door and plummets unto the chair at his desk. ''Tick not now''. Togata says. ''What is it this time? Your not having nightmares you made that evident! Or what do you want to go see your parents again??''. Tick says arrogantly.
''Shut up, Don't talk about that''. Togata says enraged. ''You have multiple projects due tomorrow and you haven't even started''. Tick complains. ''It's alot ok!? I am in over my head, Im going to be a laughing stock''. Togata says. ''You know something that I regret about mentoring you this whole time?''. Tick asks.
''And what's that''. Togata replies sarcastically. ''It's that when you fail you give up and say you're not cut out for it, you did it as a child and you're doing it again. You do everything so perfectly that the moment you face a little bit of struggle you back out''. Tick says.
''That's not it, this plan is impossible who on earth can do this?!''. Togata replies. ''You can!''. Tick replies. ''You're wrong''. Togata replies packing his books. ''Hmmph giving up that easily?''. Tick says ''Yes, you're insane''. Togata replies ''It's funny that the most gifted are the laziest''. Tick comments.
''If you want I'll release you, just leave, what do you want from me?''. Togata asks. ''I want perfection boy, I expect nothing less than perfection''. Tick says. ''Why!''. Togata asks. ''Because you can and you know it, we've come so far, don't get lazy now!''. Tick replies.
Togata thinks for a bit then inhales, ''Perfection huh??''. Togata says as he swipes all his books unto the floor and sets a large paper unto the table. ''Yes!! Perfection Togata!!''. Tick replies. ''Perfection! Perfection, Perfection!!''. The 2 chant as Togata draws up a time table.
