The lady said, "I gave you two choices. Which one are you going to choose?"
As if they're even choices. It's basically do or die. Aaaaah! I'm so frustrated! I should've listened to Dad and behaved!
"Hey, which one are you choosing?" the lady repeated. "I'm giving you three seconds. One… two… three."
"I'll do it! I'll do it!"
"Do what? Die?" she asked.
Is she dumb?! She told me to become her servant and now she's asking again? No sane person would choose death!
"Hey, hey. Are you going to answer, or should I kill you?"
"I'll become your servant, my lady," I said with a forced smile. Look at her grin! Is it fun to toy with someone else's life?!
"And one more thing, my lady… don't call me 'hey.' I have a name."
"Do I need to call your name? Fine. What is it?"
"My name is Rosetta, my lady."
"That's too big of a name. I'll forget it," the lady said casually. "I'll just call you 'hey.' Servants don't need names."
"You're dismissed. The butler will show you your room. Stay here." She walked away without a second glance.
I don't see any butler. I'm too exhausted to care. I just lay down on the floor like a dead person.
Should I run away? Honestly, it would be easy. But if that maid catches me, I'm dead meat. And this is the capital… what if I run into someone from my own country? If they drag me back, that would be even worse.
Maybe… I'll stay here for now. It's still better than being locked up again.
Suddenly—
"Oh my god! Hey! Are you alive?" a voice shouted. "The lady told me to take the new servant to their room… but I didn't know this one was going to die on the floor! What am I going to tell my lady?!"
I opened my eyes and saw the butler staring at me.
"It's a ghost! A ghost!"
