Chapter 6 - Chapter 6 – The Boundary I Should Not Cross

The moment I stepped into the outer ring of UFO Park, I felt it.

Something was wrong with the air today.

It was not cold. Not humid.Just… off.

The air felt thicker, as if I had walked into a thin layer of transparent water.

There was even a faint sense of being pushed back, a light rejection that made me hesitate without knowing why.

I frowned and stepped forward again.

My foot landed, and for just one moment, it felt like I had stepped on something springy.

An invisible surface that pushed me back half a step.

Not wind.Not imagination.

It felt like the space itself had elasticity.

I swallowed.

"Is it the weather… or am I just too sensitive today…?"

The cat followed beside my feet.

It did not meow or run, but one of its ears twitched sharply.

Like it heard something I could not hear at all.

That made the hair on my neck stand up.

"You heard something…?Or… am I really that tired…?"

The cat did not answer.

It stared into the deeper part of the park, its whole body slightly stiff as if it was judging whether something in there was dangerous.

I followed its gaze.

The two grassy mounds stood quietly under the morning light.

Perfectly ordinary.

But then…

The outline of one of them wavered for a split second, as if distorted by rising heat.

The whole park felt like it was slowly breathing.

My chest tightened.

I rubbed my eyes, trying to clear my head.

But as I lowered my hand, a thin white line flickered at the edge of my vision.

Like a symbol.Or part of a word.

It flashed once and vanished instantly.

Way too clear to be an illusion.

A chill ran down my spine.

"What… was that…?"

Before I could even finish the thought, a pulse ran through my chest.

Not painful.

But the rhythm was not mine.

It felt like something from deep inside the park had tapped through my body.

I froze.

The park went quiet.

Too quiet.

Even distant traffic seemed muted for a moment.

The air remained heavy, and the same faint repelling sensation pressed against my skin, as if warning me not to step any closer.

The cat finally turned back to look at me.

Its eyes were impossible to read.

Like it was checking whether I had begun to change, while also annoyed that I was so slow to notice.

I stared back at it.

"Hey… what is that look supposed to mean…Are you happy I am turning weird…?Or do you just think I look good enoughto consider making me your owner…?"

The cat looked away immediately, clearly refusing to acknowledge any part of what I said.

I sighed and looked again at the park.

The circle of nine-floor apartments stood silently like a massive wall.

The mounds sat in the center like a sealed core.

The air around them felt dense, and every step closer felt like I was walking into a place I was not supposed to enter.

I was sure this was not my imagination.

The park had a problem.

But what bothered me more was…

This strange feeling was not only happening in the park.

It felt like something was beginning to happen inside me as well.
