"How could he do this to me?"
Bella's voice cracked as she pushed Jack away for the fifth time, her face burning red with anger and heartbreak. Emily stood beside her, coaching her to breathe, but Bella's emotions were too wild, too raw to settle.
I hurried toward her.
"What happened, Bella?"
"Kevin," she said, almost choking on the name. "He broke up with me."
Her hands slammed the table, the frustration spilling out of her like a wave she couldn't control.
I didn't hesitate. I reached out, took her hands gently, anchoring her before she spiraled completely. She stared at me, confused, wounded, and trembling.
"Bella, listen." My voice softened. "Kevin is an asshole. And honestly? Pretend he didn't reject you — he rejected the hottest girl in the entire universe. That's his loss, not yours."
Her breath faltered.
The red on her cheeks lingered, but now it wasn't rage — it was the flustered, warm kind. The kind that breaks through the cracks of pain.
Jack's expression melted into pure sympathy. Emily faintly smiled, relieved Bella was calming down.
"Thank you, Julie," Bella breathed out, her grip tightening around my hands as if holding onto stability. "You're right. He rejected a big deal."
I smiled. "Exactly."
Emily clapped suddenly.
"Okay, girls, we're calling Victoria and having a full girls' day. No debates."
Jack lifted a hand. "Does a girls' day include one guy?"
Bella didn't blink. "No boys allowed. But you can be our driver."
Jack bowed dramatically. "I'd be honored to drive my princesses anywhere."
Emily nodded while typing fast on her phone. "We'll see if Victoria's free."
I turned to Jack. "Who's going to watch your café if you're driving us?"
"Julie, please," Jack said with a grin. "I hired new workers today. Everything is under control."
He took Bella's half-finished water bottle and set it neatly on the reception counter.
Emily closed her phone and smiled. "She's free. Victoria said yes — she's already waiting at the mall."
She applied a bit of gloss, smoothing it on her lips.."ughh you stole my gloss again?!",I said faking an anger Emily used to steal a gloss from my bag cause she don't have a time for one, she's always promoting her father's company and she get a large amount of money from the promotion, her father always believed in her beauty he always say that she is the exact replica of her mother and mother was once miss continent prestige and Emily's mother died because of blood loss during giving birth and Emily always blame her self for it and regret that she have never touched her mother and not even a single picture together. "sorry okay I will buy you another one" she said as usual.
Jack pulled off his work shirt, revealing a gray tank top underneath.
"Well, princesses," he said, "what are we waiting for? Let's go."
