In the sky of the outskirts of Irantel, specifically above the plains leading to the forest that is tens of kilometers away from the city, birds flew freely, flapping their wings under the warm sun and above the clouds, painting a scene of pure natural beauty.
*Whoosh* Suddenly, a shadow passed quickly by the birds, causing them to panic and become unstable during their flight.
"Woah, this is amazing!"
The figure spoke as he raced the wind. Her white hair danced and sparkled in the sunlight, flowing long and beautiful, and her golden eyes shone with unparalleled enthusiasm, as if she was experiencing the best thing in her life.
This was Velzard the only true Dragon in this world, and she had just learned how to fly.
"Flying is amazing! I'm glad I got curious and tried it," she said, remembering how she got to this moment.
E_rantel was bustling at this time of day and the streets was filled with people walking back and forth, shopping to feed their families or to buy various necessities , And the sellers greeted people with a smile as they sold their wares, whether food or accessories.
With Children running around pretending to be knights with sticks for swords.
At the same time, Velzard was negotiating with the stable owner to rent a horse, but things were not going her way.
"I told you, I don't rent horses to adventurers. The horse might die and I'll lose out.
If you don't have the money to buy one, then get out of here!"
The fat man said as he closed the stable door in Velzard's face, who sighed in disappointment and sadness.
"This is the fourth one I've visited this morning. And the last one in this city.
They all gave me the same answer. What should I do now? Run?"
She said as she headed for the city exit, but this time the guards didn't stop her and allowed her to leave safely, so she started running quickly,
covering several meters per second, leaving behind a cloud of smoke and the astonished faces of the guards.
Velzard continued running for several minutes before she stopped and turned to see the city of Erantel, which had become foggy.
"This is useless. It might take me hours before I arrive,"
she said resignedly as she looked around for people.
When she didn't find anyone, she took off her armor to reveal her dress under the armor.
She had discovered that she could wear clothes under the armor.
This discovery was to her delight, as she no longer had to be naked every time she took off the armor.
Velzard sat on a rock by the side of the road, taking in the view before her.
Green plains stretching for hundreds of miles in every direction, towering, towering mountains, birds soaring in the sky, and the atmosphere...
"Wait, fly? Fly! That's the answer! The original Velzard can flyes, and so can I. I'm a genius!"
With this thought in her head, Velzard closed her eyes and imagined herself rising from the ground and flying.
Several seconds passed before anything happened, but suddenly she felt lightness in her body. However, she did not open her eyes and continued to concentrate.
When she felt the restrictions that bound her to the ground disappear, she opened her eyes to find herself floating several meters high.
She was overcome by intoxicating happiness and a smile spread across her face.
"I did it" She whispered this sentence as if she had not yet grasped that it was real. However, her smile widened even more as she shouted,
"I did it!! I can fly!!"
With adrenaline rushing through her veins, she soared high into the sky, testing her newfound ability to defy gravity and freely explore the skies, fulfilling not only her dream from her previous life but also the dream of most of humanity in both worlds...
Which brings us to the present, where Velzard is still flying fast through the clouds.
"Ummm now I know how Superman felt when he first learned to fly, that feeling of freedom is truly intoxicating"
she said as the wind caressed her face and made her hair flutter.
After a few more rounds she continued on her way to the location where the group of monsters were seen, with her ability to fly she could complete the hours-long journey in a matter of minutes
"But before that,"
with a smile, her muscles tensed and she leaned forward before taking off at full speed, trying to test herself and her current limits.
*Boom* With a massive sonic boom, she took off into the sky like a meteor in a white blur of speed, breaking the sound barrier as she reached speeds of nearly Mach 1, passing hundreds of meters per second.
When she stopped, she realized that she had outpaced the monsters.
"Oops, I guess I went a little overboard," she said, a drop of sweat dripping from her cheek. Before she turned back.
At that time, Velzard was hovering a few dozen meters above the army center, which was actually much larger than the mission had stated.
Velzard estimated their numbers at around two thousand monsters. She noticed three large lizards at their center, as well as several other species.
But what did it matter to her? she was a true dragon for God's sake! A superior race, sitting on top of the world.
Nevertheless, she raised her hand above her head and repeated:
"You vile and insignificant creatures, be honored to become fuel for my power and stats. Now, die for me, 'Frost Rain!' "
She said as she lowered her hand to reveal hundreds of ice shards and launched them towards the army of monsters below her who didn't know that their end was approaching them,
they just suddenly felt cold as the ice shards pierced their skin and flesh in a mixture of pain and blood, and so in a few moments of suffering and screaming, 1/3 of the army died in a single attack
When they saw that most of those who were with them had been killed without warning, panic spread among the rest and they began to search around frantically for the source of the attack only to find nothing around them except the corpses of their dead comrades.
Although they were relatively unintelligent monsters, they had been hunting for a long time, and as the predators they enjoyed the feeling of superiority and dominance over others.
But now they felt a sense of danger, that they could die at any moment. They were no longer the predators, but had become the prey.
Back with Velzard, we find her smiling at the success of her new technique on its first try.
She has already eliminated many of them and may complete the mission with two more attacks of 'Frost Rain'.
With this, she will gain Mithril ranks and earn a lot of money, but what is the rush? Test dummies for her skills have appeared in front of her and she may not find such an amount of test subjects in the near future, so naturally she will not waste this opportunity.
"Now let's go down and complete this play."
With her last words, she let herself fall involuntarily into the middle of the enemy.
Amidst the whir of air, Velzard landed like a meteor, heading towards a group of goblins that were stuck together.
As it was about to touch the ground, it formed a shield of ice to protect it from the impact,
and then,
with a boomcrack, it smashed into the goblins, crushing their bones and ribs and mixing them with the dirt and grass.
After the initial shock, a cloud of smoke rose, covering the impact area along with the object that had fallen there.
The tension in the air was scratching their senses. Then, in what seemed like hours, a figure emerged from the smoke.
The smoke cleared to reveal a crater several meters wide. But what caught their attention wasn't the crater, but what was emerging from it: a single human girl.
Those who had never faced strong humans before underestimated her and even attacked her, completely forgetting their previous tension and fear,
thinking she was a weak human who wouldn't even be able to fight back.
Velzard pov :
As I watched those monsters rushing towards me like mad, with hunger and contempt in their eyes, I smiled a little,
imagining their expressions when I killed them. I readied myself, crafting two ice swords as my main weapons. You may ask, why don't I use my real sword?
Well, would you break a toothpick with an axe? In other words, it's because they don't deserve me to even take it out.
So I ran towards them, while covering myself with a thin layer of solid ice to protect myself from any attacks that escaped my sight,
and most importantly, not to let blood stain me, as I didn't want to smell bad.
I easily cut the first troll in half, covered in blood and disgusting smelling intestines.
'Thank god I made that barrier.'
After that, I avoided an attack on my back from another one, cutting off its head and freezing the wound at the same time to avoid the smell.
Then I avoided several arrows thrown by goblins at a distance, and those I couldn't avoid, I simply cut them down.
Then I jumped to avoid a club from a troll, so I stood on its shoulders and plunged the two blades into its neck.
After a little suffering, it died. Then I avoided arrows and spears from the same previous group.
I wanted to eliminate them quickly, as they were annoying, but there were about thirty trolls blocking my way.
At this, I got tired of them, so I used another technique,
'Iceman.'
Out of nowhere, four snowmen appeared, each three meters tall, with ice crystals comes out of their backs and hands.
Each one managed to deal with three trolls so I only had ten left before I got to the archers which seemed to be increasing by the minute,
I thought as I dodged a bigger group of arrows this time so I jumped high and stabbed a troll in the heart and the other in the head so they both died after that I formed two ice spears out of the air and threw them at the archers only to be blocked by one of the three lizards who finally decided to get involved in the fight, I smiled big I was waiting for them to use this on them,
I took a few steps back and did my talisman it seems the lizards figured out my intention so they rushed to stop me but it was too late
'Frost Dragons!'
I unleashed my third technique, the Frost Dragons, just now.
While this technique is very powerful in attack, it has a weakness.
This technique targets one individual per dragon. With a roar, the lizardmen transformed into beautiful ice sculptures before shattering into thousands of pieces.
I saw their leaders easily defeated. The others felt scared and turned to flee, but would I let them? Of course not.
I increased my speed to the maximum, slashing through any monster that came my way.
I also got rid of the annoying archers. Finally, when I reached the center of the escapees, I used my final technique,
'Ice Age.'
An intense chill rippled through the air as thick ice spread from all directions across an area of half a 100 meter square,
freezing all the remaining monsters and ending this battle And with it the invasion before it even started.
