"Septarion, what do you think?" I ask Septarion what he thinks about my cute daily journal that I'm writing. It may be simple and not have anything special, but I want to keep a little record of what's happening around me.
"It's very nice, Ayane, it suits you," he praises, perching on my desk while I put the pencil on the table, looking at the journal. It looks good to me and has a really cute cover.
"Yes, I like it that way, Septarion," I say after finishing writing a few things about my day and about Setsuna, who I think we're now friends. That makes her my first friend at school.
"Septarion, are you going to take me to meet the other magical girls? I want to go on a mission right away!" I say excitedly to meet colleagues who are in this with me.
I really want to be part of a team. We'll do so many things together, help people, and we might even become friends outside of the magical girl duty.
"Tomorrow I'll take you to them, but today I suggest you just rest or study a little. Don't forget that school is also important for your future," Septarion speaks to me in a mature way.
"Sure! Don't worry, I'll study a lot... but Septarion, I have a question, what are monsters?" This is something that leaves me curious. What are the monsters? And why did they suddenly appear among us humans?
"Hmm... Ayane, I apologize, but I can't tell that to a human. Only other angels can know about it. I'm sorry, but since I'm currently the only angel on earth, that information is strictly controlled," Septarion says, apologizing.
"I'm sorry I can't inform you, but I hope you understand that such knowledge can't just be spoken about without restrictions," he really seems serious about this, and his apologies also seem very honest.
"It's okay, I understand. Don't worry. Can you at least tell me what the monsters do? You said you'd mention some of the problems they cause," I question with doubt. Septarion said he would talk about some extra things he hadn't told me when I accepted being a magical girl.
He didn't have time to tell me when we first talked. I became a magical girl and he soon disappeared to resolve an urgent task he had.
Something about a space-time rupture or something similar, I don't even know what that means, but he seemed shocked and surprised, as if it wasn't something that should happen normally, but it still happened out of nowhere and he had to go.
"Well... I can tell you, but these are very serious things, horrible crimes. Are you willing to listen? It might be a bit disturbing and uncomfortable," Septarion questions to make sure.
"Yes! I need to know the crimes the monsters commit so I can help more people!" I even know some that he had already mentioned, but those are the most common ones and don't even come close to other crimes.
"Okay... I'll start with the ones involving people, alright?" Septarion asks again to confirm if I'm really willing to hear and take on the risks.
"Yes, be transparent!" I wouldn't give up being a magical girl just because of some horrible things. I know I might not be very strong, but I want to save people and protect the happiness of everyone around me.
Even though... now I'm completely alone without having anyone with me, but even so, I must be strong.
"The most common ones are rape and kidnapping. Monsters do this constantly, having a preference for magical girls, who are more valuable to their sadism," Septarion begins talking about what I already knew.
"They also use rape as a form of reproduction for certain types, although it's only a portion of the monsters that can reproduce this way. They use common girls and even magical girls to increase their numbers and must be quickly eliminated so they don't grow too much."
"However, although rape is the most common to happen, monsters cover a broader area, involving themes of violence, destruction, and lust, moving on to the area of violence, it's common... certain bad acts."
"They mainly involve dismemberment, organ trafficking, torture, and even treating humans as food by devouring their bodies." When Septarion says this, my body shivers. This is terrible and disgusting.
I feel bad just hearing it. How can they do these cruelties as if they were normal?
"Of course, monsters avoid killing or causing permanent damage to certain types of magical girls where they make a 'division'. For example, support magical girls are usually raped but don't have permanent physical damage."
"They prefer to cause psychological damage to them... but combat magical girls end up suffering severe torture and even permanent damage, although they generally come out alive."
I feel bad when Septarion says this. Such a thing can happen to me at any time. I must be very careful to protect my team and myself. We must not let anyone suffer such a terrible thing.
"And of course, monsters have their reasons for leaving magical girls alive. Unlike humans, who have no "real" use for monsters, magical girls serve as magical batteries from which monsters can constantly steal magic as if they were infinite batteries."
"The reason for stealing magic varies, from a source to increase their power to even forming weapons or similar things, which unfortunately... is quite common," Septarion says sadly.
This makes it clear that many magical girls are captured, which is too terrible. I can't even imagine what it's like to go through all this.
"Among crimes that usually involve buildings, they prefer to focus on different things," Septarion says, changing the subject.
"Monsters also commit small to large-scale thefts, such as robbing a person or robbing large companies or banks, and also cause destruction on different scales."
"Sometimes destroying homes, or even destroying buildings and blocks through terrorist attacks. Most monsters don't really have a pattern for this, being random."
"They cause everything from small disasters to large-scale disasters, with a single focus on causing the maximum possible destruction before being killed by a magical girl."
"Of course, they can even steal money, but about 60% of the monsters don't use the stolen money, which is the most common, but others even end up using that money to commit more evil," Septarion says angrily, as if this reminds him of something terrible.
"Honestly, I don't know exactly why they do this. It's not like they need to or it's a real necessity. They just do it out of pure malice, without reason or purpose."
"They don't need to commit evil deeds, they don't benefit them in any way in terms of survival, and even without doing anything bad, they would continue to live without problems."
"Of course, the worst part is that they can use others to do their evil deeds, manipulating the minds of normal people to commit crimes and thus making innocent people be killed or imprisoned as guilty."
"Magical girls have a natural defense against this passive ability to affect the minds of others, but normal humans don't have this defense."
"They can be easily used even if it's not their will to do so, and thus they can even end up being corrupted and, even free from the monster's influence, they can commit evil deeds."
'This is so bad.' Really something horrible. In addition to committing terrible evils, they drag innocent people into it, making them bad people without caring about their lives as if it were a game or something.
"Of course, certain monsters are not very smart, but others have absurdly high intelligence, and even then it's impossible to talk or negotiate with them. They are liars and traitors."
"They can use, kill or even manipulate children, women and the elderly, making no distinction and being equally bad with everyone." Septarion says something that really moves my feelings.
This makes me angry. How can they use innocent children for their diabolical plans? I had even thought that monsters couldn't be so bad and that maybe we could convince them to stop, but it's obvious they're pure evil.
"That's why, Ayane, you should never trust the word of a monster. They never tell the truth and will never be good, even if you give them infinite chances. They don't change because they don't want to change."
"No matter if you give them one, two, or even ten chances, they will continue to commit evil deeds until they are stopped by a magical girl. So be careful, Ayane. Intelligent monsters are a bad sign, it means they are stronger and harder to defeat."
"They'll try to deceive you with everything they have, using false feelings or sweet words to try to persuade you. You must always be on your guard around them."
"And always be careful with your back and the ground or the sky. Even the air can be dangerous if it's a monster that releases toxic gases," Septarion says with concern.
"I understand, Septarion! I won't let these monsters do evil!" I say with determination to Septarion.
"That's good, Ayane. I trust you and have high expectations for your barrier and healing abilities," Septarion says, giving me good encouragement.
"Now go rest a bit, or study as I had said. I have to go out now and check on the other magical girls. Have a good night and cover yourself well with the sheet, it's a very cold night," Septarion says, flying out the open window.
"Okay, I will," I say, responding to his kindness as he flies out the window. I go to the window, feeling the cold night breeze that makes my body shiver slightly.
'It will be a very cold night tonight.' I close the window completely and lock it, passing the curtain in front to prevent visibility, while going to the kitchen to eat something light before going to sleep.
