Arc Introduction
Sophie is a mysterious girl with a quiet aura, known in the city for her exceptional musical talent. While she seems reserved, her delicate beauty and angelic voice make her impossible to ignore. With a beauty score of 94, she immediately appears on the system's radar… and on the protagonist's, though not in a typical way.
Chapter 1: The Girl with the Violin
The protagonist discovers Sophie by accident. He had entered the old neighborhood concert hall looking for a place to rest from the noise. However, what he finds there leaves him speechless.
On the empty stage, illuminated only by golden rays slipping through the upper windows, Sophie played her violin as if music wasn't an art, but a language to speak to the world.
The melody was so pure that the system activated on its own:
[New beauty detected: Sophie Laurent. Score: 94/100.][Spontaneous Mission: "Uncover the sadness in her music." Reward: +1 Charisma.]
She notices his presence when she stops, but instead of being annoyed, she simply smiles—soft and shy.
"Was I taking up the space?" the protagonist asks.
"No… I was remembering," she replies, lowering her gaze.
Her sadness is clear. And the arc begins there.
Chapter 2: Fractured Notes
With a few casual encounters (that the system nudges with minor missions), the protagonist learns that Sophie stopped playing in public after a traumatic event: her last performance ended when she had a panic attack on stage, ruining her reputation within her conservatory.
Since then, she plays only when she's alone.
The protagonist tries to cheer her up, but Sophie is reserved. However, she accepts a strange deal:
"If you can listen to one of my compositions without saying anything… then I'll tell you why I stopped playing for others."
The music she plays is beautiful… but incomplete, as if something is missing. And he feels it.
When she finishes, Sophie confesses:
"No matter how much I practice. There's always one note I… can't reach. And without it, everything feels broken."
Chapter 3: The Missing Note
The system triggers a key mission:
[Special Mission: "Help Sophie recover the missing note." Difficulty: High.][Reward: +1 Affinity with Sophie + passive skill 'Intuitive Hearing' (basic).]
The protagonist knows nothing about music, but he does know how to listen to people. So instead of correcting her technique, he offers something more valuable: support.
They practice together during the afternoon, but nothing works… until he suggests something unexpected:
"What if that note isn't in the violin… but in your story?"
She trembles.
"I had a friend who always played with me," Sophie says. "She used to do that note… And she's not here anymore."
The protagonist stays silent. He doesn't need to ask more.
With tears barely held back, Sophie tries again… and although the note is still imperfect, this time she doesn't break halfway. She breathes deeply.
"I still can't do it…" she murmurs.
"But it didn't sound empty this time," he replies.
It's the first time Sophie smiles at him genuinely.
Chapter 4: The Small Concert
Days later, the system gives a final mission:
[Final Mission: "Have Sophie play in front of someone else." Reward: +2 Affinity and unlocked romantic event.]
The protagonist comes up with something small: a tiny improvised concert at a park at night, when almost no one is around.
Only an old man walking his dog stops to watch.
Sophie trembles, but he encourages her:
"Just look at me. Forget everyone else."
She plays… and although the melody isn't perfect, it's sincere, warm, alive.
The old man applauds in surprise; Sophie, blushing, covers her face but laughs for the first time.
[Mission completed.][Affinity with Sophie: 3/5.][Event unlocked: "Promise in the Dim Light."]
Afterward, walking together, Sophie stops.
"Thank you," she whispers. "I couldn't have tried without you."
She takes his hand, timidly, with a nearly invisible blush.
"If you want… I can play for you anytime. Just for you."
The system vibrates softly.
And so the mini arc ends: not with a kiss, but with a gentle promise and a new emotional connection built carefully and tenderly.
