Chapter 918 - The Voice of the World Tree

Deep within the heart of the Veyris Eternal Empire…

Beyond the Imperial Palace.

Beyond the Infinite Library.

Beyond even the highest realms where countless stars were born…

There existed a sacred place.

The Garden of the First World Tree.

A place where reality itself became quiet.

The branches of the ancient tree stretched across endless dimensions.

Its roots connected countless universes.

Its leaves carried memories from forgotten ages.

Kael Veyris stood beneath its golden branches.

For once…

The Architect of Existence was not creating.

Not fighting.

Not observing civilizations.

He was simply listening.

A gentle wind passed through the garden.

Then

A voice spoke.

"Kael."

The entire garden illuminated.

The branches moved.

The flowers opened.

The stars above became brighter.

From the center of the World Tree emerged a figure.

Elyndra.

The spirit of the World Tree.

She appeared with an aura that felt older than many universes.

Her hair was long and flowing.

Pale blonde with a soft golden sheen.

It moved gently like sunlight passing through leaves.

Her eyes were bright golden-yellow.

Luminous.

Reflective.

Carrying the wisdom of countless ages.

Her ears were tall and slender, sharply pointed like the ancient high elves of forgotten worlds.

She wore elegant white and gold robes decorated with patterns resembling branches and flowers.

Elyndra stepped forward.

"Creator."

Kael smiled.

"Elyndra."

She looked around the garden.

"You created countless realities…"

"Yes."

"You created infinite frameworks."

"Yes."

"You built an empire beyond imagination."

"Yes."

Elyndra smiled softly.

"And yet you still come here."

Kael looked at the World Tree.

"Because this place reminds me."

"Of what?"

"That creation is not just power."

"It is life."

The World Tree itself spoke.

Its voice echoed across universes.

"Kael Veyris."

"You have carried existence for longer than most beings can understand."

Kael looked upward.

"And you have watched longer than I have."

The branches moved.

"I have watched civilizations rise."

"I have watched stars disappear."

"I have watched gods forget their purpose."

A pause.

"But I have never seen a creator who wishes for his creations to surpass him."

Kael remained silent.

Then he smiled.

"Because a creation that cannot grow is only a reflection."

"Not a living thing."

Footsteps approached.

"Father!"

Kael turned.

His daughter arrived.

Veyloria Kaelthera.

She ran toward him happily.

Kael knelt.

She hugged him.

"You were here again."

"Yes."

"Talking to the tree?"

Kael glanced upward.

"Yes."

Veyloria looked at Elyndra.

"Can the tree really talk?"

Elyndra smiled.

"I can."

The child looked amazed.

"You are really old."

The entire garden became silent.

Then Kael laughed.

Elyndra covered her mouth, smiling.

"I suppose I am."

Veyloria looked at Kael.

"Father."

"Yes?"

"Are you old too?"

Kael paused.

Elyndra immediately looked away.

Trying not to laugh.

Kael answered carefully.

"I have existed for a while."

Veyloria narrowed her eyes.

"That means yes."

Later…

Kael returned to the palace gardens.

Waiting for him were Lilith and Nyx.

Lilith sat elegantly beneath a crystal tree.

"So…"

She smiled.

"You were speaking with another ancient being?"

Kael nodded.

"Yes."

Nyx looked curious.

"The World Tree?"

"Yes."

Lilith crossed her arms.

"You collect powerful beings like books from your library."

Kael raised an eyebrow.

"I do not."

Nyx quietly looked at him.

Then at the endless palace.

Then at the countless powerful beings surrounding him.

Kael became silent.

"…Perhaps slightly."

Lilith laughed.

Nyx smiled.

"You enjoy having people around you."

Kael looked toward the palace.

Where his family lived.

Where his people lived.

Where countless races called the Empire home.

"Yes."

Far away…

The Universe Tree continued speaking.

"The Architect of Existence created everything."

"But the greatest thing he created…"

"Was a place he could call home."

And beneath the endless branches…

Kael Veyris stood with his daughter, his family, and the ancient World Tree.

Not as a ruler.

Not as a god.

But as someone who finally had something greater than infinity.

A home.
