Roxanna blinked several times, and only then did she realize she would be covered in fur if she shifted into her fox form!
After getting her answer, Roxanna finally let Zeir go to the well to fetch water, so he could clean her body as well as the hut, which had gotten a bit messy. Good thing Roxanna had bought the mattress. Otherwise, they would've made an even bigger mess.
Still… the mattress was dirty now.
Roxanna stared at it for a while. Then Zeir spoke again, as if reading her mind. "I'll clean it too," he said calmly. "Don't worry."
With that reassurance, Roxanna finally shifted into her pink fox form. The moment Zeir crouched down in front of her, she immediately jumped into his arms like it was the most natural thing in the world.
Zeir smiled faintly and gently stroked her soft fur a few times. Then he asked her to climb onto his shoulder while he rolled up the mattress.
[So this is what it feels like to become a fox…] Roxanna thought. [Honestly, it's not bad at all.]
