"As I said before, her healing ability is a little disturbed because it's working too hard to protect her body from being drained by her own child."
That was the first thing Roxanna heard when she opened her eyes. It felt like she had only closed them for a moment, and suddenly she was already lying on the bed, surrounded by her husbands and Aelin.
"Excuse me?" Roxanna's voice came out soft and slightly hoarse. "My child is going to eat me alive?"
Aelin was taken aback when she saw Roxanna wake up so quickly from her sleep, but even so, she immediately explained her condition to Roxanna. "What I mean is, your child needs a lot of nutrition from your body," she said gently. "That's why your healing ability is focused on keeping your child alive. At first, it wasn't very noticeable because your child was still small. But now that they are growing quickly, your body won't feel as normal as before."
