Chapter 32 - Chapter Thirty Two

Aurora's POV

My new life had begun. Waking up before the rest of the world to join the other trainees in the morning run.

Back in Crimson, I had always seen the trainees run around their arena, but I never imagined the training to be that vigorous. We were pushed to our limit and then forced to push past it. I had been running for what felt like forever, and at some point I couldn't feel the blood flowing to my legs. I stumbled over a rock, crashing against the hard stony pathway.

"Don't let him see you fall," someone extended their hand to help me. The face was a blur; my vision was cut off by sweat and adrenaline pumping through my brain.

"Get up," she helped me up.

"Thank you," I panted as I resumed running. I knew I was moving, but my mind was all blank. My body had begun acting on impulse, running because it was a repeated action, not because I willed it to.
