Chapter 44 - Chapter 43

CHAPTER 43 — Silent Acquisition

Shi Yunxi closed her laptop, the last line of code fading as the digital world fell obediently quiet around her. The shadows of the room clung to her, but her expression was unreadable—calm, almost serene.

But her eyes…

Her eyes glowed like sharpened obsidian.

The Shi family had crossed a line.

They touched her children.

And for that, she would make them suffer in ways they never imagined.

She slid a slim wireless earpiece into place and dialed a secured number. It rang only once before a startled male voice answered, breathless.

"B-Boss? Is this really—"

"I need a full breakdown of Shi Corporation's stock status," Yunxi said, voice steady as ice. "And prepare the acquisition channels. I want every shell company awake."

An audible gulp.

Then, "Boss… you're planning a takeover?"

"Not a takeover."

Her lips curved in a cold, razor-thin smile.

"A reckoning."

Within minutes, her tablet lit up like a battlefield.

Graphs plunging.

Numbers hemorrhaging.

Investors fleeing like rats.

Her earlier cyberattack had driven the stock price into freefall.

Chaos was blooming.

Perfect.

She began to buy.

Not 10,000.

Not 50,000.

Not 100,000.

She bought relentlessly, in staggering blocks, rotating them through a maze of accounts no one on earth could trace back to her.

8%

12%

18%

22%

27%

30%

When the final purchase confirmed, her subordinate's panicked voice filled the line.

"B-Boss! You… you now own thirty percent of Shi Group! Th-that's more than the chairman!"

"I know," she replied softly.

The Shi family thought they could bury her.

But she had returned holding their leash.

"Boss, the board is panicking," the subordinate continued. "They believe an outsider is preparing a hostile takeover. They're urgently calling an emergency meeting."

"Let them." Her voice held a quiet, lethal amusement. "I'm going home."

Shi Family Villa

Three years ago, she walked out of these gates with nothing.

Not dignity.

Not justice.

Not even her unborn children.

But today—

She returned owning thirty percent of the company that defined them.

The guards at the gate stiffened the moment they saw her. She had changed—

her aura sharper, her presence colder, her elegance commanding.

"Miss… Miss Shi… you—"

She walked past them without acknowledgment.

They stepped aside instinctively.

Inside, chaos exploded from the main hall.

"What do you mean thirty percent of our shares are gone?!"

"Who is this buyer?! Why can't we trace the funds?!"

"Chairman Shi, the board is demanding to see you immediately!"

"We're losing authority—!"

Shi Zhengguo's furious voice boomed over the frantic discussion.

"Find out who it is! No one—NO ONE—can threaten my position!"

His words died the moment she stepped into the doorway.

Silence fell like a guillotine.

Shi Zhengguo froze.

Roulan's mother paled.

Servants shrank back.

Shi Yunxi stood framed by the doorway—tall, composed, devastatingly calm.

Her entire presence screamed power.

"You…" her father choked out. "You dare come here?"

She walked inside, her heels ticking coldly against the marble.

"I came," she said evenly, "to collect a few things you owe me."

Shi Zhengguo slammed a fist against the table. "Everything here belongs to the Shi family! You have no right—!"

She dropped a black folder onto the table.

It opened with a soft thap.

Inside—

Legal documentation proving her ownership of 30% of Shi Corporation.

Her father stared.

His mouth trembled.

Roulan's mother gasped violently. "Thirty percent? T-this must be forged! How can you—?!"

Yunxi lifted her gaze, her eyes lethal.

"I'm not interested in convincing you," she said. "Numbers don't care about opinions."

"You—!" Roulan's mother shrieked. "We kicked you out with nothing!"

"And yet," Yunxi interrupted, voice silk and steel,

"I now control thirty percent of your company.

More than any of you combined."

Shi Zhengguo struggled to stand, suddenly sweating. "You… you want to ruin us?!"

"No."

Her expression didn't change.

"But I will remind you what happens when you raise a hand against me or my children."

Her father's knees nearly gave in.

"And let me warn you," Yunxi added softly, "this is the kindest I will ever be."

She turned, coat swaying behind her like a blade.

"I suggest you prepare yourselves. The next storm will not be gentle."

She left without looking back—

leaving the entire Shi family in a cold, suffocating silence.

They had no idea.

This was only the opening move.
