\FRIDAY/
-EMBER'S POV-
.
*It was a cloudy day, a ceiling of gray.
[Ember] \looks up\ I should bring an umbrella. \rushes indoors, fetches her umbrella, and puts it in her bag\
*During Class
[Professor] -...sounds, words, noise-
*Class ends. It is now lunch time.
*Cyan is already walking out of the classroom when Ember catches up to him.
[Ember] \taps Cyan's shoulder\ Hey, I just notice something.
[Cyan] What?
[Ember] \moves closer with a hand covering her mouth and whispers\ Our class is awkward. I don't see any other groups yet.
[Ember] \still a whisper\ Like the seating is still standard. They're just talking to the one beside them, some even not.
[Cyan] \quietly\ I mean yeah. It's the first week of college, we don't really know each other. That's normal.
[Ember] \continues whispering\ But we're talking right now, right? And we're not seated close to each other?
[Cyan] That's because we're not normal. \takes a pause\ Correction. You're not normal.
[Ember] \shocked\ (That is rude.) \slightly pushes Cyan away to clear her path as she heads to lunch first, walking past him\
[Ember] Yeah whatever, see you next class.
[Cyan] Yeah, see you.
*After lunch, before class.
*Ember enters the university gates, rushing in the drizzle. She walks into the entrance hallway pavilion.
[Ember] (Made it! I hope this rain doesn't ruin my bag),(Though I should probably use my umbrella, the rain's getting stronger)
[Ember] \opens her bag and searches for the umbrella while walking straight, looking for the shortest route to escape the rain\,\sees a familiar figure\
[Ember] (Is that Cyan?) \walks closer\ (It is Cyan!)
*Cyan standing near the edge, looking out.
[Ember] \walking towards Cyan, still finding her bag zipper\,\notices\ (What is he doing? Wait, is he planning to run through the rain?)
*She rushes toward him, without a plan, without calling him, or tapping him, just awkwardly yanking her umbrella with one hand, and her bag in another.
*Cyan took his first step, committed to getting soaked.
[Ember] \opens her umbrella, shields Cyan from the rain, and runs together in a shared frantic burst of maybe two or three steps, they stop.
*A clutch save.
[Cyan] \looking down\ What? Where's the rain? \looks up\
*He saw a canopy of bright red, staining him with crimson light. Like a red filter.
[Cyan] \looks around and sees a hand, which he then traces\
*Cyan saw a girl, with an open bag, a messy look like she just ran, with her hair all wet and tangled.
[Ember] \smiles\ Hello! No umbrella? We can share.
*Cyan didn't answer.
[Ember] \waiting\
*Cyan stares at the hand holding the umbrella, then glances back to her face, then the umbrella again. He is lost in thought.
*Until a question pops up on his mouth.
[Cyan] Am I your type?
[Ember] \shocked by the sudden question, she pauses and ponders\
[Ember] ([Extrovert Ember] Quick! Introvert Ember! Is he our type?, [Introvert Ember] What? Is he our type? Uhm... he's tall, I guess? [Extrovert Ember: That's a Yes! Send it!]
[Ember] \slightly louder than she intended\ Yes.
*. . .
*Cyan inhaling deeply says.
[Cyan] Okay.
*The world seemed to stop. The drumming of the heavy rain on the red fabric turned into a symphony of noise.
*The rain grew even stronger, a wall of noise that made any attempt to follow-up the conversation, impossible.
*Cyan slowly takes his first step and waits for Ember to follow. They start walking.
[Ember] \glances at Cyan\ (I can't read his face. What are you thinking, Cyan?)
[Ember] (Maybe you can think to take this umbrella from my hand and hold it yourself?),(My arms are getting numb from being raised you know.)
*A girl with arms stretched up high, holding an umbrella for a boy.
*It's almost comical, yes, but no one laughed.
*The students that caught a glimpse of them felt something: something red.
*They step under the building's overhang. The umbrella is down. But neither says a word. They're both lost in thought.
*They take a seat. Classes start. Classes end. And they go home without talking.
*Ember enters her room tired, and lies on her bed.
*As if she's trying to conclude what happened today, she speaks.
[Ember] Was I just rejected?
