Slowly she drove into Maples High and cautiously parked her car. The murmurs got to her in annoying loud voices.
Here comes the psycho.
What's the point of her in school anyway? To destroy.
She deserves to be stoned to death.
She let out a deep breath 'cautiously' to avoid the school going up in flames.
Whispers from students reached her in surprisingly high tones and she frowned in an attempt to stop the various sounds echoing in her head.
She placed a lollipop on her mouth to stabilize her emotions and put on a headphone, but that only served to worsen the situation. The music from the head phones vibrated in her head and she quickly took it off.
With a sigh, she adjusted her glasses and made her way to her class block. Walking into class, she quietly made her way to her seat at the back of the class expecting what was to come.
The usual bullying. The humiliation but none came.
A teacher walked into the class and classes for the day started in full earnest. She was beginning to think maybe her bullies forgot about her existence for today. But the short-lived peace and relief was bound to come to an end.
After second period, the class had a break and she placed her head on the desk to minimize the sounds coming at her.
Soft footsteps echoed in her ears but she fought to restrain herself - to keep her head down and not take a look at the person walking to her.
Her hair was roughly pulled up and her guess was correct - had always been. The intruder was Clarissa and her cohorts.
"Psycho" Clarissa cackled as she poured her steaming cup of coffee on Nyx's hair, dripping onto her face.
Her group of cohorts erupted into laughter but Nyx sat silent - trying to fight that familiar urge to kill, the urge to see blood, her fingertips were gradually growing hot.
"You're hiding your contempt behind the glasses" Clarissa said and threw the glasses across the room.
That was it. Fire streamed down Nyx eyes, setting Clarissa ablaze and Nyx hands found her way to Clarissa's neck choking her.
The class went silent, and then a shrill cry followed - escaped Bella's lips… Clarissa's cousin. And Nyx snapped, she threw Clarissa away and picked up her glasses placing them back on her face.
"What the hell did you do to my cousin, bitch" Bella shrieked but stayed a distance from Nyx. Of course, she was afraid, no one wanted to be burnt alive.
The class went into a frenzy, whispers and gasps traveled round the class, and a call for help was made.
Hours later, they were at the principal's office and Clarissa's parents were busy screaming fire and brimstone which found their way into Nyx ear in an unusual high tone.
Clarissa had been taken to the infirmary and Nyx parents were called.
"Mrs Smith, please take it easy, a due punishment would be awarded to the culprit" The principal said and Nyx's heart sank deeper.
"You, Nyx Arthur have hereby been expelled from Maples High school" The principal sounded and Nyx eyes went wide.
No, no. She shook her head furiously - furious at herself .
She had succeeded in failing her parents and she could feel the urge rising again, but this time it wasn't directed to her parents. She badly needed to snap Mrs Smith neck out of her body and march to the infirmary to complete what she started.
"Thank you, Mr principal" Roland said and led his family away from the school to his car.
The silence in the car was suffocating, Nyx kept her head down throughout the journey. The car rolled into their house and the family of three alighted the car.
Roland and Elena walked in while Nyx halted at the door way - afraid of what was to come.
"Come in" Elena beckoned and Nyx walked in mechanically.
"Daughter, we have to talk" Elena continued.
Here comes it. The talk she wasn't prepared for.
Nyx raised her head to stare at her mother and what she saw in her mother's eyes shocked her.
She saw fear, despair and unwillingness but somewhere in there, she saw relief, not the anger and disappointment she had expected to see.
"Nyx Arthur" Elena called like it was the last time she was going to call her the name.
"We love you and we want the best for you but…" She trailed off.
