Chapter 14 - CHAPTER 14

Samurai Hearts – Reaction (2)

But the aftershock of the broadcast didn't end there.

Rather, it only grew bigger and more intense after the stream ended.

During the broadcast people had been too focused to spread the word, but once it ended, they finally started making noise about it.

The number of viewers present at the end of Victoria's stream was a staggering 57,000.

Even a stream with twenty thousand viewers gets noisy afterward because of what happened during it—so there was no way a stream with over fifty thousand viewers wouldn't spark conversation.

The first place where the broadcast's aftereffects appeared was in the community where personal-stream viewers gathered.

The general internet broadcast community site "Virtual General Community (VGC)." Also called VGC for short.

Almost every viewer gathers there, and suddenly a flood of posts about Victoria's stream exploded onto the site.

The one that became most talked about was this:

─Today Victoria's stream was literally legendary

Viewer count jumped from 5,000 to 50,000 overnight

Tricky main page promotion

Admin Kai appeared / donated

Can't believe all this happened because of a single collab guest…

-??? 50k? 5k became 50k?

ㄴOP: Yeah, for real.

ㄴWho did she invite that made 5k blow up to 50k?

ㄴOP: She brought her little brother. If you want to know more, go watch the VOD.

-That Kai? The one who wore the ninja costume at the old Tricky event?

ㄴYeah, that guy.

ㄴKai donated to Victoria? I thought he hated streamers with weak mechanics.

ㄴHate? He acted like a maniac. Dude was loving it. Threw 100k donations repeatedly.

ㄴFor real?

On Tricky, a streamer averaging 20,000 viewers is considered the dividing line for being a "big corporation."

Before today, Victoria's average viewer count was between 2,000 and 3,000, and her peak was barely around 5,000.

But in a single day she broke the 20,000 mark—the line for big streamers—and even brought in double that.

Her viewership had ballooned more than tenfold at once, so of course it hit the trending boards.

─A 5k nobody became a 50k super-mega-corporate streamer?

Obvious viewbotting, no?

What kind of insane idiot viewbots 45,000 people?

-Mad lmao 45k viewbots, this is straight-up fake broadcasting lol

-10x viewbotting, has she lost it? Did she think she wouldn't get caught?

ㄴRight? Anyone can tell at a glance.

-Please. You morons who scream "viewbot" without even watching the stream should shut up and go watch it.

ㄴOP: Don't need to watch it, obvious enough. Bye.

-KEIOKEN x10!

People who hadn't watched the broadcast suspected viewbotting.

A viewbot is a program that artificially inflates viewer numbers and can get you permanently banned if you're caught.

They concluded that Victoria had used viewbots to raise her viewer count from 5,000 to 50,000.

Forty-five thousand viewbots—ridiculous, but they genuinely believed that.

To them, that explanation was more convincing than believing a small 5k streamer suddenly exploded into a 50k titan overnight.

But that opinion didn't last long.

Because the people among the 50,000 who did watch Victoria's stream started posting rebuttals.

─Victoria used viewbots?

These bastards are pushing fake narratives so hard

Why don't you say Kai's donations were faked too?

There were obvious reasons she blew up, and you people start screaming "viewbot" first? Disgusting.

-Yeah yeah, 10x viewbot, okay bye

ㄴOP: Ugh… I don't even want to talk to idiots like you. Get lost.

-Is it really not viewbotting?

ㄴOP: No. There's a clear reason.

ㄴWhat reason?

ㄴOP: The Sword Saint showed up.

ㄴ? The Sword Saint shows up in other streams too. That's your reason?

People who hadn't watched Victoria's stream couldn't accept "the Sword Saint appeared" as a reason for the blow-up.

To them, "Sword Saint" meant Hatsuragi Kato, the boss monster from Samurai Hearts.

All Samurai Hearts streamers encounter that boss at some point, so it wasn't special.

Meaning: they couldn't believe that the Sword Saint's appearance explained Victoria's explosive growth.

But soon, a single clip video began spreading across VGC—and then they understood.

They realized who the "Sword Saint" the viewers were talking about actually was.

─The Sword Saint who appeared on Victoria's stream.avi

[Tricky clip video]

I grabbed this clip to shut up the idiots yelling "viewbot"

Let's see if you can still say that after watching this

-Wow… holy…

-The "Great Success" judgment is insane

-Is this real? Not edited?

ㄴOP: Nope, absolutely real. The full VOD is still up. Go watch it.

ㄴOkay, I'm going right now.

The video uploaded wasn't long.

Clips could only store around a minute of footage anyway.

Thus, the clip only showed the early part of the fight between Sword Saint Kato and Dohyeon.

Before the Sword Saint even drew his twin blades—their intense probing duel.

But even that was enough to shock people.

Sword Saint Hatsuragi Kato.

A boss with no stable strategy discovered yet, a monster you can barely challenge only after weakening him through story progression.

Tons of mechanical prodigies had tried and been crushed by him. Yet here was a clip of someone fighting him head-on, one-on-one.

─Just watched Victoria's VOD.

Everyone who accused her of viewbots should start by slamming their heads into the floor.

With a broadcast like this, of course she hit 50k.

Honestly, it's surprising it wasn't higher.

-Stream ended early because her brother got tired.

ㄴOP: Yeah, I saw. If not for that it could've blown up even more.

-Victoria's stream is really that good?

ㄴDon't know about the others but this one was truly legendary.

ㄴReally? Maybe I'll watch it.

ㄴOP: You won't regret it. You'll regret it if you don't watch it. Seriously, go.

ㄴThis dude is crazy good at advertising lol

As people who watched the livestream and those who watched the VOD combined, public opinion on VGC shifted dramatically.

A backlash hit those who had accused Victoria of viewbotting.

Clear evidence kept appearing, and the entire broadcast was publicly available as a VOD—so the outcome was inevitable.

Those who had insisted the 45k surge was from viewbots deleted their posts and ran away, or suddenly switched sides and started praising Victoria.

A few stubborn ones tried to keep arguing, but under the relentless bombardment of facts, they too eventually deleted their posts and fled.

With all the negativity gone, only hype remained.

The site was constantly buzzing with talk about Victoria's broadcast, drawing more and more people's attention, including those who hadn't cared at first and now wondered, "What was so amazing?"

Wow, this is what real talent looks like.

This is their first time playing this game?

For real, that was insane lol

Those who checked out the stream were shocked first that Kratos was playing the game for the very first time, then shocked again by his talent, and finally fainted when they saw him beat the Sword Saint.

If it had been a previously famous streamer or some amateur prodigy uploading a video of beating the Sword Saint, it wouldn't have become this big of a deal.

People would've just gone, "Well, that person could definitely do it!" and admired it—sure. But it wouldn't have driven everyone into this mad frenzy.

But Kratos? What about him?

─Why Kratos is insanely cracked. Fact

Appeared on his sister's stream because she bribed him with 100,000 won allowance

Has NEVER played a VR game in his entire life

Yet got ALL Great Success parry judgments during the stream

Beat the Sword Saint

-Seeing it listed out like this… dude is actually crazy lol is he even human-Parries were all Great Success?

ㄴOP: Yep. I checked every single one.

ㄴIncluding the ones during the Sword Saint fight?

ㄴOP: All of them. Every single parry was Great Success. That's why it's insane.

ㄴHoly crap that's wild-When I remembered he said he never played VR before, I legit lost it -If it was his first time, he wouldn't even know the optimal device settings, and he still did that?

He wasn't even streaming himself—he was just appearing on his sister's stream as part of her content. And in a game he was touching for the first time in his life, he demonstrated his talent with absolute perfection.

Everyone who saw him could only think two words:

Genius.

A talent bestowed from heaven.

That became his image.

And naturally, that only pushed people into even greater frenzy.

─Sword Saint vs Kratos Full Version Video

[iTube Video]

So, who's the real Sword Saint now?

-So the Sword Saint was originally a dual-wielder

ㄴYeah yeah, devs confirmed he was dual-wielding. No one had ever seen it until now though-Beating the Sword Saint is insanely badass;-Why didn't you include the part after this? That's where things REALLY go crazy

ㄴFor real? Crazier than this?

ㄴWay crazier. After watching that I can't think of anyone but Kratos when I play Samurai Hearts

ㄴThat much…? No, that's it. I'm going straight to the VOD

VGC's excitement exploded even further when the full version of the duel between the Sword Saint and Kratos was uploaded.

The nonstop clashing of steel, the blades dancing under the moonlight—

A duel that practically declared, "This is what a true samurai battle looks like!"Viewers, to put it bluntly, absolutely lost it.

─Bought Samurai Hearts after watching Kratos' video

I swore never to touch this kind of game again after needing 53 attempts to beat Bloody Horn's first boss.

But honestly Kratos was too cool, I couldn't resist. Agree?

-Agree agree, I bought it too

ㄴOP: For real? Wanna play together?

ㄴDM me your tag. Let's go goㄴOP: Okay! Let's become the second Victoria & Kratos!-Stop!! Beyond this point lies hell!

ㄴOP: But…! The video looked so cool!

ㄴCan't deny that, that's facts-I tried again after watching the video, but yeah… what's impossible is still impossible

The impact was strong enough to captivate even people who previously didn't care about Samurai Hearts.

Of course, most of them were crushed by its brutal difficulty—and that only highlighted Kratos' greatness even more.

And finally, like the finishing touch of a masterpiece, another video dropped.

─Full "Sword Saint War" Video.avi

[iTube Video]

I named it "Sword Saint War" myself.

Everyone kept uploading only the cut portions of Kratos vs Sword Saint, so I brought the full version.

Put on diapers before watching.

-What did I just witness?-Ninja?! Aieeee?! Ninja?! Why?!-Hidden challenge unlocked lol who on earth can beat that

ㄴSeriously lol I run for my life when more than three enemies show up-I'm a urologist. Thanks. Business is booming. But now I have so many patients I can't go home…

The video showing what happened after the Sword Saint duel poured gasoline on VGC's already blazing hype.

After the Sword Saint's defeat, the ninja's appearance and the clearing of the hidden challenge were just that impactful.

Viewers were entranced by the sheer brutality of the battle.

After the video dubbed "Sword Saint War," any post about Kratos practically came with a free pass to VGC's trending board.

Even a freshly uploaded post would instantly hit trending if it contained even a scrap of new info about Kratos.

It showed just how many people were obsessed with him.

Victoria's stream's ripple effects did NOT stop there.
