Chapter 16 - Chapter 16

Boom ~ Boom ~ Boom ~

With the Magic Perception skill, Rimuru was exceptionally sensitive to sound waves and light waves.

Even with her entire body covered in armor, the sound—though greatly reduced by the silencing system—was still exceptionally clear in Rimuru's ears.

She could even hear the friction between the armor and the air, and the grinding and clashing of machinery.

These sounds were chaotic and varied, but in Rimuru's ears, they were exceptionally layered.

Rather than finding the noise annoying, she felt as if she were listening to explosive music, and her whole being became exhilarated.

Rimuru could mimic a giant bat and fly on her own, but at this moment, the experience of flying was completely different.

"Oh, haha, great, this is absolutely fantastic!"

Rimuru cheered excitedly, her body drawing graceful arcs through the sky.

Their speed was so fast that it was difficult for the naked eye to catch them. Because she was competing with Tony, they chased each other, and only two fiery-red arcs could be seen spiraling upward.

If any mecha enthusiasts saw their flying competition, they would faint from excitement.

The spiraling arcs were so beautiful that no language could describe even a fraction of their beauty.

Moreover, in the Marvel Universe, Tony's Mark II and Rimuru's Wind God I were making their debut, and the shock was unimaginable.

Not only Rimuru, but Tony Stark was also extremely excited, his soul trembling.

The only thing that annoyed him was that his Mark II still hadn't surpassed the Wind God in flight altitude or speed.

He was almost always trailing behind the Wind God, which made him very unhappy.

"Jarvis, increase axial load support power, from 5% to 55%!"

"Yes, sir!"

With a sharp burst of propulsion, the Mark II's speed suddenly increased, instantly surpassing the Wind God and leaving Rimuru far behind.

"Yes! This is great! I knew my Mark would be the best!"

But Tony hadn't been cool for even three seconds before he was again surpassed by the Wind God piloted by Rimuru, and once again, he could only eat her dust.

Staring at the orange-red exhaust flames of the Wind God's thrusters, Tony Stark muttered, "Little guy, you're doing well. The propulsion output is much smaller than the Mark II's, but your acceleration isn't weak at all. Of course, the Wind God is smaller and has a thinner shell, so its energy consumption is lower than the Mark's. That much is expected."

"Jarvis, accelerate again. I want to prove to the Wind God that the Mark is not only big but also swift!"

"As you wish, sir!"

Boom!

The Mark II went all out, accelerating rapidly again. The exhaust flames from the thrusters on its hands and feet even turned blue.

But what Tony Stark didn't expect was that when he suddenly accelerated, the Wind God accelerated at the same time.

Not only did the Mark II fail to catch up, but the distance between them widened even further.

"This…"

Still eating dust, Tony said unhappily, "Jarvis, note this down. The Mark II's power system still needs improvement, and its acceleration efficiency needs to be increased."

Jarvis: "Yes, sir."

Just then, Tony's helmet display suddenly flashed red, and Jarvis's voice sounded again.

"Sir, the exterior may be severely icing, leading to structural damage."

Tony Stark froze. "What? What about Rimuru's Wind God? Didn't it encounter icing problems?"

Jarvis: "The Wind God's outer shell is made of Xis Corporation's gold-titanium alloy—the same material used for the Archangel satellite."

Rimuru even considered the icing problem?

For the first time, Tony Stark felt a sense of frustration.

Previously, he had been trailing behind the Wind God, seemingly always outmatched, but Tony hadn't taken it seriously.

This was determined by their different design philosophies: the Mark focused on balance, while the Wind God took an unconventional approach—prioritizing speed over defense.

In terms of weight, the Mark was several times heavier than the Wind God, so naturally it couldn't match its speed.

In terms of design philosophy, Tony didn't think the Wind God was better; the Wind God was far too fragile and simply couldn't withstand high-intensity combat.

It was a wrong, failed design concept.

But he hadn't even considered the icing problem—and Rimuru had outdone him here!

"Danger, danger. Sir, I advise you to stop climbing immediately."

"Don't stop. Continue. I want to test the Mark's limits!"

After climbing another two or three hundred meters, the frozen Mark II completely stalled and plummeted downward.

Seeing the Mark rapidly falling, Rimuru hovered high in the sky, choosing not to climb further.

She won!

Even though she cheated, it still made her incredibly excited.

She had defeated Tony Stark—one of the Marvel Universe's greatest minds!

The feeling of victory was simply amazing!

Ten minutes later.

Tony arrived on the roof of the villa, looking extremely displeased as he saw the Wind God still soaring in the sky.

"Jarvis, cut the power—"

Boom!

A huge hole was immediately smashed into the roof as the Mark II crashed into it, and Tony Stark, caught off guard, directly crushed a luxury sports car.

Even worse, a mechanical arm dutifully sprayed him with foam to "extinguish a fire."

Tony lay on the sports car, suddenly feeling a sense of existential crisis.

Damn it—when you're unlucky, even drinking cold water can choke you!

Just then, the Wind God piloted by Rimuru suddenly crashed down from the sky as well, smashing another large pit in the lab floor—landing right in the center—

In a single-knee kneeling pose, one hand pressed to the ground.

That's right—it was that iconic landing pose!

The pose instantly dazzled Tony Stark, and he couldn't help exclaiming:

"Cool!"

The more he looked at the pose, the more pleasing it became. But soon, Tony's expression darkened.

By the way—such a cool landing pose wasn't invented by him!

But how could Tony Stark be someone who just follows trends and picks up scraps?

"Jarvis, note this down. I will definitely design a landing pose a hundred times cooler than that!"

"Yes, sir!"

After removing his suit, Tony Stark found Rimuru more and more displeasing to look at.

Still, he wasn't someone who couldn't accept defeat.

But when he saw Rimuru approaching with a brush, ink, paper, and inkstone, Tony froze.

"What are you doing?"

Rimuru: "Teaching you how to write the word fu (服)—as in 'submit' or 'admire.'"

"Huh?"

Seeing the character 服 neatly written by Rimuru on the paper, Tony's face instantly darkened.

Are you serious?!WTF!?

Rimuru smirked. "Tony, you're not thinking of going back on your word, are you?"

Tony Stark immediately got angry, rolled up his sleeves, and picked up the brush. "I'm the genius Stark! It's just writing the word fu! You think I'd be afraid?"

Rimuru chuckled mischievously. "Impressive, impressive—worthy of Tony Stark. Make sure you write it as well as I did."

Hmph!

Tony snorted, too lazy to argue with Rimuru.

What a nasty, evil slime. I really want to beat her up!

Rimuru: "Jarvis, note this down. On X day of X month, 2008 AD, Tony lost to Rimuru and wrote a big character with a brush!"

Jarvis: "…"

Tony Stark: "…"
