"Hello, third prince, I am Faelynn Elmwood. From today onwards, I will be your teacher".
Darian froze when he heard those words, a drunkard elf with a chaotic personality, hell no, I want to associate with her, I must refuse her, Darian thought to himself.
It wasn't about her qualifications or talent; her super energetic personality and her love for wine and alcohol will be troublesome for him to deal with, on top of that, her being a battle maniac.
"Listen! Miss Elmwood," Darian stated his plan for refusal. "I appreciate your enthusiastic offer, sadly, I have other plans in my mind may be some different occasion".
"Really? Different occasion?" her face lit with a grin of mischief.
"Yes, I am a royal so I ma..."
She interrupted Darian before he could finish, "Well, I guess this is the only way."
Darian could feel she was planning something, yet he asked her. "The only way for what....."
Before he could finish, she struck Darian's neck side
Thwack!.
A sharp thud echoed in Darian's ear. Her hits weren't painful, but they were precise enough to knock Darian. While he was falling to the ground, Darian saw her face filled with her mischievous grin.
Chirp. Chirp. Squawk.
Darian heard these sounds little by little; his consciousness came back. When he completely woke up, his limbs were tired. The place he is seeing with his eyes isn't the duke's dojo; it is a jungle filled with trees around him.
Dense trees towering like huge buildings, vines crawling from top to bottom, yet the place he was in was a circular patch without any trees; the sounds of birds, bugs, and other animals filled his ears.
"Oh, you woke up." A familiar sound.
Darian turned towards where the sound came from. Faelynn was sitting on the top of a huge moss-covered rock. She was peeling a fruit that resembled an apple from his world with her trusty dagger.
"Hey! Where the hell is this place?" Darians asked with her puzzled expression. He started scrambling his feet and trying to break his restraints. "Where the fuck is the castle?"
Faelynn took a bite from the fruit. "Mmmm, it's so tasty!"
"Don't ignore my question, knife-eared wench! I said Where is the castle?"
"Oh! About the castle, it's about a hundred miles away from here".
"Hundred miles!?" Darian froze.
His shock turned to outrage. "What the hell, you kidnapped the imperial family member, do you think you can walk free from this?" he shouted again. "If the emperor ever finds this out, you will be a dead meat".
Faelynn started laughing with amusement.
"Why did you laugh? Do you think this is a joke?" Darian asked with anger and amusement
"Why? Why did you laugh?" Darian demanded, offended.
"You think... You think your father will punish me, kid ?" She wiped a tear from her eye. Hopping down from the rock. She walked over to him. "That's a good one! Kid, I have seen Roderic when he was way younger than you. I used to babysit him when I visited the castle to see your grandfather. One time, I even changed his diaper too."
Darian stared at her. Just how old is this woman?
"Oh, you're a funny kid," she came behind Darian's back and sliced the ropes, freeing him.
Darian rubbed his wrists, glaring at her. "Anyway, why did you kidnap me? I thought you wanted to teach me?"
"Kid, you wanted to learn archery, didn't you?"
"Yeah," Darian dusted off his clothes and got up from the ground. "But not like this! I expected a range, a target, and a civilized discussion about stance."
"Relax, kid," Faelynn threw the fruit at him. "I will teach you something better." "Better? What is that?"
Faelynn's expression shifted. She became serious
"How about being an Assassin?"
He blinked for a second, "Huh, an Assassin, no." Darian shook his head vigorously
"I made it clear that I wanted to get into a brawl or confrontation; besides, it's too risky. I would rather stay on the sidelines in conflict than engage in it."
"Also, Archery seems perfect for my standard: Keep the distance, shoot the enemies, go home".
Faelynn Smerks, "I guess you have a point, Kid. Safety is nice, but I am not telling you to go kill and hide in a closet, or anything."
"Then what is it?
"hehe... let me show you." She stretched her arms and rushed towards the tree, leaped, and launched the tree upwards and landed on its branch. She jumped and held another branch.
"Is that all?" Darian asked.
She smirked and increased her speed; it was three times what she had fought with the duke. Her speed became so fast that Darian couldn't detect her movements anymore at as she was invisible; neither the leaves fell off, nor her presence wasn't able to be noticed.
Darian spun around the trees, scanning for her, "Where did she....."
"BOOO" asuttle fealing on his ears.
Darian jumped out of the shock. "What the hell was that? That's not a normal assassin's technique.
"hehhe I told you, didn't I,"
"So once again I'm asking want a learn it?"
Min Jun thought to himself, Well, learning more than one technique would make him even better for the future, rather than relying on archery only Also, her techniques may be useful in evading and escaping from enemies and threats.
"And what about archery?"
"I will teach it too since you want to learn that much eagerly."
"Well, learning two things is better than one. Alright, I will try that to"
"Great! Then start running, kid, if you catch me up before evening, you won't starve."
