Chapter 35 - A Cowardly Justice Served!

"Aghh, fuck it, elf! I can't take it anymore," Darian pleaded after getting his ass beaten by Faelynn. He lay down on the ground, exhausted by her training. "I am tired of eating bugs and roots. Let me go!"

Faelynn paused and jumped down from the tree she was standing on and landed on the ground. She laughed after hearing his pleas. "Hahaha! Sure, kid, rest a little. I didn't think the high and mighty so-called arrogant prince could beg like this." She laughed again.

"Dammit, why do I have to learn all of this? I am not planning to become a knight or mage either." Darian opened his mouth out of frustration. "I think hiding behind the lines suits me more, and even though people call it cowardly, it's just risk-free and suits the third prince much better."

"And besides," he continued, "Do you think I have a chance to beat an Aura Knight or a high-circled mage anyway?"

Faelynn smiled and walked towards Darian, who was lying on the ground. "Haha, you know what, kid, maybe you are right. Even with the mana gaze, it would be hard for you to defeat a knight and mage, but!"

She sat in front of Darian, who was looking at her face now. She pointed her fingers at his head. "Since you are a coward, your greatest strength isn't might; it's your mind. Now hurry up, cowardly bastard, rest time over."

(continuation of chapter 34)

"Fuck the plot and rules. It's time to properly teach you some manners you lack, you noble piece of shit."

Darian looked at Nevian's face; the arrogant, twisted expression had gone, and instead, it was boiling with rage.

"You incompetent bastard !" he shouted while chanting a fire spell

"AESTUS IGNIS SUPERIORA!" Nevian roared.

A torrent of blazing fire erupted from his hands; it surged directly toward Darian. Darian rolled across the stone floor and evaded the attack with ease.

Nevian didn't stop,

"TERRA PIL!" he summoned the earth spikes, aimed, and fired at Darian.

Darian, who had already predicted it with his mana gaze, used the techniques he learned from Faelynn; he evaded all of it with speed superior to Nevian's aim and rushed towards Nevian, closing in, and he drove a brutal kick straight into Nevian's abdomen.

Nevian groaned at the impact of the kick; he flew away because of the impact on the ground. He snarled in humiliation; he scrambled and rose. He lifted his hand for another incantation. Before the incantation began to form a spell, Darian already planned his next move; he kicked a piece of rock lying on the ground, which was the remnant of Seris's earth barrier.

It flew like a bullet and struck Nevian's palm, interrupting his incantation and breaking the spell as well as Nevian's focus. Darian picked up the broken training spear, which was lying on the ground; he closed the gap, jumped, and swung vertically above his head.

CRACK... the cane broke into pieces by the impact; splinters flew in every direction.

"AUGHHHHHHHHHH..." Nevian screamed in agony.

Before Nevian could maintain his balance and chant another spell, Darian clenched his fist, aimed for his abdomen, and drove a punch. The impact threw him to the stone wall.

Darian paused and casually adjusted his collar and hair; he looked at the crumpled Nevian, and blood oozed from Nevian's forehead.

"Are all Celiots truly this pathetic, Nevian, or is it just you, asshole ?"

Nevian pushed himself from the wall; he spat blood and screamed in anger.

"AUGHHHHHHHHHHHHHH !..... I will kill you, bastard!" He screamed and aimed his hand and chanted "PER IGNEM AGONIAE!"

A massive flame swirled in front of his hand, a fourth-circle fire magic; one that would be able to cast by an elder mage.

"Die, you incompetent bastard!" Nevian shrieked, while unleashing the magic against him.

Darian smirked; he was preparing for this exact moment, just like in the novel when Kayle confronted Nevian; he used the same spell. Darian quietly drew the dagger that Faelynn gave him; its gemstone in the middle turned red, and the blade was fully charged.

He swung the charged dagger; the interaction of the Aura Blade and the mana attack caused an explosion, shattering the ground, and both Nevian and Darian fell to the ground.

Darian stood up; his dress was torn, burnt, and messy. "Ahh, it hurt like shit."

Nevian stood up in disbelief. "How .....How can an incompetent bastard use Aura Blade?"

Darian rushed towards him, grabbed his collar, and punched his face harder. He ripped his shirt towards the opposite side of the placket, and he pulled the back hem of the shirt over his head. Darian pulled the tie that he wrapped around his hand; he wrapped it around his neck and pulled the tie tight.

Nevian's eyes and vision were blocked; he could do nothing. What happened after that was a brutal, one-sided beating. Darian punched his face harder; every blow made his shirt turn red more and more. Nevian's screams became louder and vaguer with every punch. Darian's face was smiling; it was not because he was serving justice, but the pure pleasure of beating someone, the joy that is always in his body. Even after Min-Jun inherited it, in the end, he is Darian a piece of shit to the core.

"AHHHHHHHHHH!" Nevian screamed; the redness of the shirt faded with the tears from his eyes.

"Peace....lesh me go !" Nevian pleaded, weeping. Darian grabbed his hand, held it close, tightly, and twisted it.

TWACK.....

"AHHHHHHHHHH GOOOOODDDDDDDDD !" he screamed. Darian didn't lose his grip; Nevian screamed and squirmed his legs in agony. His cocky expression was no more; his voice was muffled and pathetic.

Before Darian could move further and ruin his hands again, he was punched hard onto the ground; it was no one other than his own brother, Kayle.

Darian bounced back; he pulled the dagger and rushed towards Kayle like his body wasn't in his control. Kayle pulled out his sword to face Darian.

Before their swords could clash, a roar of lightning struck the ground, splitting it and launching Darian towards the wall. In the middle was none other than Adrian Cross, whose eyes looked cold towards Darian. He snapped his fingers; the vines from the ground wrapped around Darian, locking him. Darian couldn't move his body; it was telling him to run away. He looked at his face as his hands and mouth were wrapped by vines, unable to talk or move. He looked at his face, thinking about what would happen next after wasting his last chance to remain at the academy.
