Chapter 5 - chapter 5

One step after another he walked along this familiar beach, it drew him in everytime. The waves always pulled his attention at least once.

He kept his stride. People faded in and out like phantoms, none stuck out as the one here looked for. A gust of wind flew by him, his blonde mullet wafting in the air.

"And who might you be?" A voice asked from behind him, startled Andre turned around to look. What he saw was not a person but a fleeting selection of different looking people, rapidly changing.

"I'm Andre, Andre della" he replied "what might you be?" He asked it. "It's hard to explain for your mortal mind but I am a wanderer of this beach" it explained "I come here for quiet walks. No one else has ever been here, so I'm pleasantly shocked" it said.

"Let me chnage into a form better suited for you" it said before a myriad of different looking things and people flasges before his eyes, a bright light engulfed him.

Right before his eyes was man, his skin dark and deep, he was wearing a white vest top, summer shorts and flip flops. "I hope this helps ease your mind, you can call me the wanderer" he said "now let's continue" he added.

They both kept walking, Andre was js admiring the sights while the wanderer was talking along "what's your reason to be here" it gave to Andre his face not ready for such a poignant question. "I see I've pressed on something as bit personal, that was not my intention." He apologised "You humans and language are very unknown to me. I'd like to learn more." He said curiously "But if you're able to would you answer my question?" He thought for a moment before thinking of responding.

"The honest truth is i don't remember anymore, I lived long enough that things just get replaced with time." He explained as he looked to the sky "Something within me compels my soul to search for someone here" he added.

The wanderer pondered for a couple moments before saying "interesting, how long lived are you?" He asked "at least 370 years, probably more but I gave up keeping track anymore" Andre responded with some coldness.

The wanderer blipped in front of Andre and was sitting on a pile of sand. "I forgot to say but I am so happy for the company" the wanderer said as he figited with his hands.

"It's nothing, I come here now and then. My plan is to be here permanently" Andre explained. His eyes went right through the wanderer, it unnerved him to be looked at like that but he pushed that feeling aside.

"Shall we go somewhere different? A place more comfy?" He put it to Andre for an answer. "Sure, where shall we be going?" He asked "you will see, shant take us a moment you see" before Andre could respond they had ended up in a log cabin.

It's frame made of oak wood. The interior had a nice wooden bed with a small bedside table, a small fire place was set up at the opposite end of the cabin from the door with its fire quietly crackling every now and then, a table and chair set near the fire as well, three chairs were all surrounding it. Below his feet was a rug, he couldn't tell the material but it felt nice anyway.

"Much better right?" He asked, "can't say no about that" Andre responded. "Want a drink?" He asked "I've got tea, water and berry juice for choices" he added. "I'll take a tea, not had one for a while you see" Andre replied, his respjce slow and unsure at first as he took a seat. "Good choice, soothes the body" he said as he put the tea pot on the flame.

"I've been here for what feels eternity you know, seen too many faces and can't remember any of them" his voice didn't give much but Andre knew that he was deeply affected by this "people like you fade in for just a blip then just as you came you leave" the tension became palpable and Andre didn't know what to do "you won't remember any of this, no one does as they never come back" Andre's mind was frozen.

The wanderer looked at Andre and before he knew it he he had said "I'll be back. Not sure when but I intend to come here as many times as it takes" his voice was filled with determination and truth, not a word he said contained a lie.

Just before he could respond a whistling noise was made by the tea pot. "I'll get it, just wait a second" his demeanor had completely changed on the flip of a coin.

A ceramic cup was placed in front of Andre, he could see the steam rise from it into his face. It was relaxing a bit. "Please, drink up. Try a bit" he suggested. Andre took a sip, to his shock it tastes very nice. It was floral with a nutty flavour deeper in the aftertaste. "I must say this is quite nice, you've out done yourself" his gratitude was immense and words wouldn't do it justice.

"I'm ever greatful for your words, but it's really nothing. Simple mixture but it does the job needed I'd say" they explained happily "I'd be happy to make it again another time for you, well next time you're back of course" he added

"I'd be much obliged if I'm ever back" Andre left off a little chuckle and took another sip. "I have a question, what are you really, i mean really?" Andre's tone dramatically shifted, his eye like daggers that peirced into his soul. "Now don't be asking questions that you won't like the answer of. Its a dangerous game to play" the wanderer stood up, his form now towering over Andre "best be leaving while I'm still giving you the chance" his voice became more monstrous and deep, sounding more like a snarl of a wild animal. "Alright alright, next time you'll answer my question though. Ill make sure of it" he stood up and walked out the door and into a massive forest, in the distance he could hear a tree fall down.

What could have made that happen...?
