Chapter 14 - Shadow Claw the Trash

Tavren was being violently dragged by the tentacles.

The middle-aged NPC who had spent half his life mining, longing to retire to his hometown and marry his sweetheart, had clearly stepped into a fated sacrificial plot.

"Damn it, this feeling is really infuriating." Kalis frowned tightly.

Though Tavren was a chattering busybody, he was at least a guide who had shown him the way. This Abyssal Lord was about to torture and kill him without even a single question; this was undoubtedly trampling on his dignity.

"Let him go!" Kalis roared, his figure darting forward like an arrow. Though Tavren was being dragged a little faster, Kalis managed to keep up closely with his agile movements.

The moment he stepped into the Boss's room, a huge, eerie purple vertical pupil came into view. It was the Abyssal Eye Lord!

The cave was a hundred square meters.

A twisted Abyssal Portal hovered in the distance, and a bizarre, blue-glowing Magic Crystal Pool stood in the center, surrounded by dense clusters of eerie blue magic crystals.

The Boss was submerged in the pool, resembling a giant octopus.

On its bald head, a vertical pupil that occupied most of its face glowed with bloodthirsty cold light. Eight thick tentacles churned in the water, stirring up ink-black ripples.

[Abyssal Lord Zalathor (Epic Lord)]

Level: 85

HP: 520,000/520,000

(Target level is too high to display additional data)

"Tentacle monsters are truly disgusting. Let him go!" Kalis shouted angrily, gathering energy in his hand. A Magic Missile shot out, slamming precisely into the Lord's vertical pupil.

Splat!

-2,150,000

A million-level damage number popped up.

Zalathor's HP bar was instantly emptied, yet it still hovered in the Magic Crystal Pool, letting out a shrill, ear-piercing laugh: "Foolish adventurer, did you really think you could destroy the great Zalathor? I am the most noble Lord under the Abyssal Lord! As long as the Magic Crystal Pool exists, I possess an immortal body!"

As the words fell, the Magic Crystal Pool erupted with dazzling blue light. Zalathor's HP bar refilled at a visible speed, returning to full health once more.

"Adventurer, save me! I haven't married my sweetheart yet. I don't want to die!" Tavren was hanging in mid-air, his desperate wails echoing through the cave.

"The Magic Crystal Pool, huh? Thanks for the reminder." Kalis ignored Tavren's cries for help, his gaze locking onto the blue-glowing pool. Suddenly, he noticed that the pool had an independent attribute panel:

[Abyssal Magic Crystal Pool]

HP: 4,800,000/4,800,000

Physical Defense: 0

Spell Defense: 15

Effect: Grants the Abyssal Lord infinite resurrection, restoring 10% HP per second

"Quite a lot of HP." Kalis realized. Zalathor's immortality truly came from this Magic Crystal Pool. As long as he destroyed this energy source, the so-called Abyssal Lord would be nothing but fish on a chopping board.

He raised his hand to gather thunderous power. Thunder Chain, crackling with lightning, slammed fiercely into the Magic Crystal Pool: "Break for me!"

Zap!

-4,800,000

The thunderous power pierced through the entire pool in an instant.

The water boiled and evaporated, and the eerie blue magic crystal clusters shattered one after another, turning into debris scattered across the sky.

The damage resistance of structures was fixed. Kalis's attack exactly depleted all the Magic Crystal Pool's HP, rendering it completely useless.

"No! This can't be!" Feeling the depletion of its energy source, Zalathor let out a terrified roar: "Oh Dark Gods of the Nether Abyss, grant me your final power!"

Purple-black Abyssal runes instantly appeared on its eight tentacles. Its body swelled into a circle, and its aura became even more violent, clearly entering a dying enhancement state.

"Annoying." Kalis's eyes turned cold. Magic Missile's cooldown had ended. The pale blue projectile shot out like a meteor, hitting Zalathor's vertical pupil precisely.

-2,150,000!

The arrogant Abyssal Lord couldn't even cast a complete skill before its massive body crashed to the ground, turning into a pile of stinking slime and Abyssal Magic Crystals.

"Ding~ Congratulations on successfully defeating the Epic Lord Abyssal Lord Zalathor and completing the first clear of the Level 75 Main Quest Dungeon [Silverpeak Mine]!"

"Ding~ You have gained 850 Silverpeak Hamlet Reputation, 25 Gold Coins, 18 Abyssal Magic Crystals!"

"Ding~ You have defeated Abyssal Lord Zalathor, gained 325,000 Experience Points!"

"Ding~ Congratulations! Level increased to 39! Spell Attack Power +8, current Attack Power 221 points!"

"Ding~ Please name your team. The system will make an announcement!"

Kalis soloed the entire dungeon with ease.

Tavren broke free from the tentacles' grip, stumbled over to him, and bowed deeply in gratitude, his eyes filled with tears: "Thank you, brave adventurer! You saved Silverpeak Mine, and you saved me!"

The Abyssal Portal in the distance still glowed with eerie red light. Clearly, though the dungeon was cleared, the hidden plot was not yet over.

Kalis didn't rush to explore. Instead, he turned his attention to the system notification; he could finally respond to Shadow Claw Guild's provocation.

Remembering the three-zone announcements with the team name "Kalis Shall Perish," a cold smile curved Kalis's lips.

He typed a few characters for the team name. In the next second, three golden announcements echoed across the entire zone, overriding all players' communication channels:

[Announcement: Congratulations to the player team "Shadow Claw the Trash" for the first clear of the Level 75 Main Quest Dungeon [Silverpeak Mine]! First clear player: Kalis!]

[Announcement: Congratulations to the player team "Shadow Claw the Trash" for the first clear of the Level 75 Main Quest Dungeon [Silverpeak Mine]! First clear player: Kalis!]

[Announcement: Congratulations to the player team "Shadow Claw the Trash" for the first clear of the Level 75 Main Quest Dungeon [Silverpeak Mine]! First clear player: Kalis!]

In an instant, all online players in the zone were overcome with unprecedented shock, and the chat channel exploded:

"What's going on? Shadow Claw the Trash? Isn't this a direct provocation against Shadow Claw Guild?"

"Level 75 Main Quest Dungeon? How long has the server been online? Less than five hours?"

"Solo first clear? Who the hell is this Kalis? First, he soloed a Mythic Boss, now he's soloing a Level 75 Epic Dungeon?"

"Are you kidding? The level gap is almost 50 levels. Even with a Legendary weapon, this shouldn't be possible!"

Countless players frantically refreshed the announcement records to confirm the information's authenticity.

Leaders and top players of major guilds urgently gathered their members, ordering them to collect all information on Kalis.

The man who had created two myths within five hours of the server launch had become the focus of everyone's attention.

In Shadow Claw Guild's territory, the moment Vaelen saw the announcement, he slammed his fist down on the crystal table in front of him, his face turning livid: "Kalis! It's him again! How can an Apprentice Mage solo a Level 75 Dungeon?"

Gareth and Bjorn, beside him, also looked horrified.

They knew well the difficulty of the Level 75 Dungeon. Even a full five-player team with optimal classes might not survive the Magic Crystal Pool mechanic, let alone a solo clear.

At the same time, Kalis's communicator rang urgently.

Lenore's lively voice came through, brimming with uncontrollable excitement: "Kalis! You're amazing! Three announcements directly slapped Shadow Claw in the face! Solo first clear of a Level 75 Dungeon, you're definitely a legend in the entire zone now!"

Following closely was Eira's calm voice, laced with a hint of concern: "Congratulations on the first clear, but Shadow Claw Guild will undoubtedly hold a grudge against you. They have a huge number of members, and they may besiege and hunt you down later. Please be careful."

Kalis chuckled softly, his tone calm: "Don't worry. Them? Once I find a hidden class to advance and learn Crystal Barricade, no matter how many people they send, they'll just be giving me experience. By the way, there's a portal after clearing the dungeon. I'll check out the subsequent plot first and contact you if I find anything new."

Lenore immediately replied: "Okay! Make sure to tell us if you find any clues about the hidden class! Eira and I will keep checking the forums to help you keep an eye out for relevant information!"

"No problem." Kalis hung up the call, turning to look at the Abyssal Portal in the distance. There, perhaps, lay the clues to the hidden class he had been longing for.
