CHAPTER 3: A MINISTER'S CASE

***

Same day, same time, same event.

From far away, the sun shines bright, and the rays of light fall down like rain, falling down and down, as one of each falls into one location from far away.

An abandoned kindergarten school.

Walls consist of hundreds of miniature holes, some even broken. Old vases once drawn and made by children before they lasted after that one day, stood broken before the sunshine.

Rubbles, the fragments of structures, the once objects that held the entire building together now laying on the ground like corpses, and apparently, this same ground once held actual corpses.

Corpses… of parents. Of staff. Of teachers. Of children.

Anyone, and everyone that once stood here for the celebration for a new beginning, never knew they would stand before their final ending.

And it all happened… exactly Nine Years Ago. Here, in the Little Caliphs Kindergarten.

And today, same day, same time, and same event, numerous people are roaming the area, investigating.

Blood samples, research, investigation, documents, detectives, they all have in store.

Yet, that wasn't all of them—soldiers as well, many of them. They surrounded the entire area, looking out for onlookers and curious-minded idiots who wanted to see what was going on, and what the military was doing investigating a nine year old ruins.

But then, the breeze flew past the world harder unnaturally, a quick reminder that something was coming.

It wasn't anything.

It wasn't a disaster.

It was… a military helicopter, coming down their way, the instantaneous claps of its circular wings brought attention to all that were busy.

People backed away, soldiers approaching, their guns lowered out of respect and authority to whoever is about to take off that helicopter once it landed.

And once it did, landing at the center of the ruins, a trio of men exited the helicopter, but only two of them held their own set of gun weaponry.

And that man wore a more fancy set of military attire, with medals, and an extremely serious and menacing expression in his face.

But what stands out the most in his appearance was no other than his short, blonde hair and small purple eyes.

A man born out of a noble bloodline.

A man who stood and walked towards the ruins with power.

Not authority, but actual power. The power that every single human being on this planet hoped to be real.

A super power.

A concept that is always scientifically proven non-existent among the species of humans.

But this man was an exception, and so are those that are to his blood—a family, a bloodline, a clan born with the ability to gain what they are passionate about.

And this man's passion was… Heroism. And so he gained that power to become the only hero of this world.

But it's not the kind of super power people would think; not laser eyes, not teleportation, not telekinesis, not precognition.

But physical prowess.

That is the form of power he gained, as being a hero is not all about being all powerful, but it's about being the person who can protect.

And using this power, the power of a hero, he used this power to defend his home country; Malaysia. This country.

But worlds like this, permission is always the most granted.

And so, he became a general of this country's military general. A general, who is known as the world's Greatest Hero.

"Long time no see, old friend. What brought a general like you here, General…"

That man… is no other than,

"...Koby Frantzes."

As General Koby halted, he was approached and called out by a very old and long-term friend of his—an old man who wore the same authoritative, military attire as he is, who was also accompanied by a pair of soldiers right behind.

General Koby turned his gaze to the old man before him, who looked back with a smirk on his face. His expression, though, did not change and kept being menacing.

And so, he spoke back, his tone deep and refined, a voice filled with power.

"...And just what brought you to investigate this area, Commander George?"

"Heh, clever answer." Commander George snorted, as he began to walk alongside General Koby, who began walking around the area as well. "You never change."

"And you look just as old as the last time I saw you—just with whiter hair." General Koby said, putting his hands behind his back.

"Haha! Not a change in humor either!"

"I'm just expressing my thoughts, a problem?"

"None. Also, how was your trip back in Japan?" Commander George asks, softly and curiously.

"Not that exhausting."

"So it was exhausting?"

"Just not that much—ever since that 'woman' left to live here in Malaysia as an establishment owner years back, the remaining yakuza faltered in numbers, and their hideouts were discovered far easier than when she was in charge."

Recalling memories, Commander George could not help but chuckle at the thought; the countless and constant wars, the conflicts, the politics involved, the downfall of Indonesia… It was a generational trauma that must never happen again.

"...Yuri Calypso, huh." He muttered, "It's a good thing she's not as naive as she seems—instead of staying as the antagonist everyone believes she is, she tries her best to live a normal life. She's dangerous, but she's still a child at the time."

"...Indeed. But still, whom she truly shall be will never change." General Koby said, and then, he stopped in his tracks, "And I almost forgot."

He turned his head around to look directly at Commander George's face, who looked back with a brow raised.

"Let me ask you again… just what are you doing commanding a group of detectives to continue the investigation in this case… a Nine Year Old case."

Commander George can see it all too clearly; General Koby's face. It's serious, it's intimidating, it's commanding.

Anyone would fall and hesitate out of stutter simply just to answer that question alone. In fact, almost anyone would lose the thought of it.

However, as a friend of the world's Greatest Hero, Commander George knows when to be afraid of the authority General Koby held.

And surely… It is not today.
