Chapter 10 - Chapter 10

HEARTFILIA'S POV

Jharied, that beast, and I remained silent all the while he drove me to wherever he was taking me—a place I had no clue about. I had been asking and asking, but that idiot had no intention of telling me anything.

Seriously, sometimes I really feel that the universe tests my patience by pairing me with someone utterly useless.

I let out a deep sigh before speaking, sure he already knew what I was going to say, but the beast spoke first.

"Do you already know about the ba—

"Yes, I know, they're saying I'm pregnant," I immediately cut him off. I didn't let him finish because I knew exactly what he was referring to.

"Seriously, mom and the others." he muttered, shaking his head. I pouted. Really, that rumor drove those women practically mad. The fact I got out alive was a miracle.

"They really don't understand," he added. I raised an eyebrow, because for some reason it seemed like a kind spirit had possessed the beast today; his voice was soft, not angry. I was so used to this jerk always shouting.

"Should we talk to them?" I asked. Maybe, just maybe, they'd agree to stop rushing us. Like, duh, we only have a few months left of school. I hoped they could wait until I was ready.

"As if they would listen to you!" he replied. I gave him a fierce look. Duh. He was so annoying, we were just going to try and he was already giving up. Does he even have any balls?

"We're just going to try. There's no harm in trying, right?" I snapped, as he wasn't even helping!

He didn't answer. It was obvious he had no intention of cooperating. I stopped talking too; was just wasting saliva and brain cells.

A moment later, the car stopped outside his family's house. What were we doing here now? It had been so sudden, without warning.

"Get out," he ordered. Aha. The old beast was back. I stepped out immediately to avoid an argument. Why would I even expect him to open the door for me? That would be a miracle. He was kind a moment ago; now he acts like he's PMS-ing with his grumpiness.

We walked into the house. As soon as we entered, they all looked at us.

"Oh, what brings you here?" his mother greeted us with a smile, acting as if they hadn't caused utter chaos in my life.

"Hi, Ate! Am I really going to be an aunt?" Zina asked happily, hugging me tightly.

I frowned. They told the child, too? Gosh! I was so stressed. Yes, they were getting older, but they shouldn't rush us like this.

"Mom, what is this rumor you're spreading that Filia is pregnant?" that jerk asked his mother. I saw the smile instantly vanish from her face.

I pulled Zina to sit down on the sofa; she held my hand. Zina was a sweet kid, so we became close quickly. She was like my little sister.

"Why? It is true, isn't it?" she said merrily, her eyes shining bright.

"Mom, she's not pregnant," Jharied said calmly, obviously trying his best to control himself.

"I'm sorry, son, but we really want a grandchild now," his mother said with sadness. Jharied was about to speak, but he was interrupted.

"That's right, we're getting old, Filia."

We all turned to the door, and it was my mom and dad. What the f*ck? What are they doing here? Them too? I felt even more stressed.

"See? Even your mommy, Filia,." his mother said. Jharied and I exchanged a look. I thought we were only talking to his parents; my parents were here too.

Immediately, my headache worsened.

"You've been married for a year, and we still don't have a grandchild," he said, smiling. I leaned back on the sofa; nothing good was going to come out of this.

All they kept saying was "grandchild, grandchild"; it irritated me. Can't they understand? I'm still studying. My mind isn't ready for that yet. Of course, they support me, but it is different if it doesn't come from the heart.

I don't even know how to take care of a baby. Make a baby cry? That I can do. Take care of one? No! And besides, will I really surrender myself to their son?

Never! I would hang myself by my feet if that ever happened!

"You are of age. We will take care of the grandchild while you finish school," said my mom. I had only sighed. Lord, give me long patience, please; I'm about to lose it.

"You are about to graduate; you should be preparing for married life. You should start planning how to build a family," my dad added seriously.

I rubbed my temples. Hays. I got up to stretch.

"Where are you going?" Jharied asked.

"Just going to cool down," I answered. I walked to the garden and sat down in the shade of a tree.

After a moment, someone sat beside me; it was Jharied. He followed me.

"What are you doing here?" I asked. He rolled his eyes at me.

"Nothing. Is there a problem? I'm just telling you, you're in my house," he responded grumpily. I rolled my eyes back.

"You know, if you're just here to annoy me, go back inside," I dismissed him. I didn't want any disturbance. My head already hurt.

"I don't want to go back there. All they talk about is a grandchild!" he complained. I frowned, looking at his mother's plants instead.

"Why don't you just do what your women say?" I suggested.

He's a playboy after all, and he should just get all of them pregnant so they'd have many grandchildren.

"I don't want to. They'll just extort money from me!" he refused. I sighed.

"They'll at least have a grandchild!" I insisted. Just do it, you jerk.

"Just leave me alone," he replied crossly. I shook my head. I mustn't think about it anymore; it only makes my headache worse.

"What if we just do it ourselves." he suddenly said. I looked at him. Did this guy hit his head? What does he mean, "just do it?" Just like that? Wow, okay. What about me?

"Are you crazy? That's not in my mind yet! Besides, I'll only give that to the man I love!" I retorted, raising an eyebrow.

That nerve! Does he have a thing for me?

"Never mind, you might not be any good; I might get disappointed". He smirked at me. I narrowed my eyes at him.

The audacity of this fellow!

He looked like he wanted to get punched in the face again! I was fuming!

"How dare you, you jerk!" I exclaimed, hitting his arm.

"You are too violent," he said seriously before pushing me away lightly.

"You're a pest, get out of here!" I answered grumpily.

"I saw you," he said seriously. I looked at his face.

"What are you talking about?" I questioned, raising an eyebrow again.

"You were the girl on the motorbike that night, right? The one who almost crashed into me. Good thing I braked." I swallowed hard. I didn't answer; I said nothing.

"Why do you need to be involved in something like that?" he asked.

"What do you care? Mind your own business, Jharied. We are only married on paper," I replied seriously.

"Yeah, you are right. We are only married on paper, but we can make it serious," he said. I laughed softly.

"Out of your mind? You and I will be free next year. You can do what you used to do, if that is what you want.

But what the F-what is this?" I asked, laughing.

"I was just checking if you have fallen for me yet," he replied, smirking.

I immediately punched him in the back, utterly annoyed.

"As if, boy! I won't fall for the arrogant playboy like you!"-I yelled and then ran into the garden.
