HEARTFILIA'S POV
The moment that we entered Lara's rest house, I sat on the sofa because I was ready to lie down; I was feeling so sleepy.
"Jharied, you and Filia can just take the guest room," Lara said, pointing to the door of the guest room she was referring to.
"What?" I shouted. What did she mean? Jharied and I were going to share a sleeping room? Oh my goodness, no. I can't.
"Solen and her friends are using the other rooms here," she explained. My temper flared again upon hearing that woman's name.
"Is there a problem? You're married, right? You live in the same house, so you should share a room here, too," Kris chimed in.
I didn't say anything more. We did live in the same house—but we had separate rooms.
"We're leaving, we still have work to do," Alex said.
Zander and the others followed him out.
"Alright, we'll catch up with you there," Lara replied before heading into her room.
Kris and the others did the same too; they also went into a room. So, the only ones left in the living area were Jharied and I.
"I'll take the sofa, and you take the bed," he offered and then took my arm, pulling me toward the sofa.
"There are rooms outside, though. I saw them earlier—I'll just rent one for two days," I said. He stopped and looked at me.
"No, you're staying here. I'm fine on the sofa if you don't want me beside you," he replied quickly. I nodded.
"No one is renting a room," he said at last, pulling me to the room that would be ours. The room was spacious, containing a large bed, sofa, and terrace with a view outside.
The door leading out to the terrace was of glass, allowing a direct view of the sea.
"Go clean up. I'll take care of our things," he said as he put the bags down on the small sofa. I released Chichay, who immediately ran and lay down on the small carpet near the bed.
I approached Jharied for my pajamas but blushed suddenly when I recalled that he would be unpacking my stuff. What about my panties and bras? He'll see them! How embarrassing.
"I'll unpack my own things," I said while he was busy taking out his clothes.
"No, I'll do it. You sleep after having a quick shower," he said, not even looking at me. I frowned. I just grabbed my pajamas and entered the bathroom. Inside, I couldn't help but let a smile spread on my lips.
"Gosh, Filia, don't get giddy. He may notice that you already like him," I cautioned myself. I was starting to act crazy.I frowned again, remembering Solen.
He really was such a womanizer. Even here in La Union, he had a girl—and she was Lara's cousin, no less. Unbelievable.
I sighed, took off my clothes, and started my half-bath (quick wash). When I had cleaned up, I left the bathroom. I found him putting clothes into the cabinet.
He looked at me and smiled. I just smiled back.I sat on the bed to dry my hair. I showered fully because I felt so sticky.
"I finished organizing your things. Yours are on the left side of the cabinet," he said as he walked closer. I nodded.
"Wait for me here. I'll just get something," he said, excusing himself.
He didn't wait for my answer; he just left.I continued drying my hair. I looked toward the terrace, so I walked over there.
I opened the door and sat down on a chair. I closed my eyes as the fresh air welcomed me.
"You're just here. I thought you went out," Jharied said, holding a hairdryer.
"I'll dry your hair for you," he added. He pulled my chair closer to him, plugged in the dryer, and placed a towel on my shoulder.
Why is he being so sweet? Is he like that with other women, too? Or only with me? Argh, why am I even thinking about that?
Tsk.I just looked out. Neither of us said anything-the only sounds were the hairdryer and the crashing of the ocean waves.
I looked at the moon, it was bright; it seemed so close. This place was really lovely because of the fresh air. I hope we can come here again.
I'll bring Nicole and the others; they look like total beach lovers.I stared at the moon, while my body gradually succumbed to sleep. The stroking of my hair by Jharied made me sleepier.
My eyelids felt heavy. until they finally closed completely.
JHARIED'S POV
I looked down at Filia when I saw her head droop. I turned off the hairdryer and helped steady her-she was asleep.
I didn't hesitate to pick her up and carry her into our room.Damn, she's heavy, even for a skinny girl. I gently laid her down on the bed, covered her with a blanket, and smoothed the hair away from her face.
I walked to the terrace to close the door and adjust the curtain. I checked on Filia one more time before leaving the room.
What I needed was to check on what I assigned Roy and the others for preparation for tomorrow. I wanted Filia and my first date to be perfect—and memorable.
I didn't want something mediocre. I wanted something she wouldn't forget.I was walking out of Lara's rest house when I encountered Solen, Lara's cousin—and my former flame.
She smiled. I just gave her a nod.
"I knew it, you couldn't stay away from me," she said flirtatiously as she wrapped her arm around mine.
"You're not who I came here for, Solen," I said coldly as I pulled her hand away.
"Hmm, c'mon Jharied, I missed you so much," she flirted even harder. I ignored her.
"Ah, Jharied. fuck me hard," she whispered into my ear, lightly running her tongue along it. I pulled sharply away.
She chuckled softly.
"Stop it, Solen. I don't have time for you," I said seriously.
She just laughed.
"You'll find time for me eventually, Jharied. You know me," she said winking at me as she walked inside. I gave her a dark look.
I had to admit, she was great; however, I couldn't cheat anymore. I really needed to prove to Filia that I truly loved her.
I walked to Roy and the others, frowning as I entered the room, because of Solen.
"Oh, what happened?" Zander asked.
"Trouble, bro, huh?" Alex commented.
"You look like the sky fell on you," Arman said, laughing.
"That cousin of yours, Lara-she might ruin my efforts to impress Filia," I said irritably.
The idiots burst out laughing.
"Come on, just say you can't control yourself. Solen looks even better, especially her body, bro, it's huge," Roy teased. I glared at him.
"Why? What did she do to you?" Lara asked.
"I ran into her earlier, she was hitting on me again," I replied.
"Just take the bait, bro!" Roy interjected.
"I'm over that, Roy. I need to prove to Filia that my feelings are real," I replied. He burst out laughing.
"Filia is a fighter, though. Look how she humiliated Solen. Your wife refuses to be outdone," Arman said, laughing.
"Exactly! Solen was speechless. You should let Filia punch her once—let's see then," Kara suggested while setting up a table.
"I don't know if that woman would ever learn her lesson," laughed Alex.
"Hurry up in there. Look at the time. You might still be working till morning," I told them.
"Yes, boss. We will be quick. Go back to Filia, as she may wake up and not find you in your room," Rey replied.
"Idiots. Wrap this up quickly. If it's not finished tonight, you'll make your own way home," I called out as I left the room in which Filia and I would have our date tomorrow.
I walked back to the rest house, which was quiet when I entered, and went straight into our room. She was still sleeping soundly.
I came closer to her and looked down at her gentle face. I stroked it—and her hair.
"I don't know how it happened, how I fell for you. Each time I see you, you affect me differently. I hope you learn to love me too," I whispered softly.
