Naruto blankly accepted the delicate gift box.
Lowering his head, he saw a pretty red ribbon tied around it.
"This is… for me?"
He was still kind of dazed, blinking as he stared at Hinata in a fog.
He didn't know if it was his imagination, but she seemed to be trembling all over as she handed it to him.
The living room fell silent.
Uzumaki Kushina stood beside her son. Seeing him frozen there, she couldn't help rubbing her forehead.
"What are you spacing out for? Hurry up and thank her! Don't I always teach you to be polite?"
Her tone was scolding, but she was smiling the whole time.
"A-ah, right!" Naruto finally snapped out of it and bowed deeply to Hinata, shouting, "Thank you, Hinata!"
A shy blush crept onto his own face.
This was the first time in his life a girl had ever given him a present.
Hinata, seeing him thank her so seriously, panicked instead. She took half a step back, murmured a tiny "Mm…," and then dropped her gaze, too embarrassed to lift her head.
Kushina smiled lightly and apologized to Hiashi on behalf of her clueless kid.
"Sorry about that, Clan Head Hiashi. Naruto is usually very polite—no idea what's gotten into him today…"
She shot Naruto an amused glare to tell him to sit properly and stop acting weird.
Hiashi Hyuga waved a hand and laughed openly.
"Not a problem, not a problem."
As he spoke, he looked Hinata and Naruto up and down, nodding meaningfully.
"From the looks of it, these two have gotten along since they were little. Seems they're quite fond of each other…"
Kushina looked puzzled.
"Hiashi, if you've got something to say, just say it. You didn't come all the way here with Hinata just to deliver a gift, did you?"
She knew full well the head of the Hyuga clan wouldn't personally pay a visit for something so simple.
Hiashi's smile deepened. He didn't answer immediately. Instead, he hesitated, cleared his throat, and announced solemnly:
"Since you ask, I'll be frank. Naruto and Hinata have both graduated from the Academy. They're twelve this year. In the Warring States era, that was already considered an age when one could be formally engaged."
"These two have been close since childhood, and my daughter has always admired Naruto. So I was thinking… perhaps we could take this chance to arrange a betrothal between them."
The moment he said that, the atmosphere in the room went dead still.
Naruto didn't react at first. Two seconds later, it hit him like lightning. His eyes bulged, and he almost sprang out of his seat.
"W-what?! Eng-engagement?!"

The three figures were just as stunned by the turn of events.
"W-what is this?!" Sakura stared at the screen, her worldview cracking apart. She couldn't help blurting it out.
She never, ever expected to see something like this inside Naruto's dream!
Naruto getting engaged to Hinata in his dream?
Sakura's head swam. She felt angry and flustered.
Naruto said he liked her all day long, but in his dreams he was planning to marry Hinata?
The moment that thought surfaced, her chest tightened, and irritation flared.
Damn it!
So he looks dumb and simple, but he's actually a two-timer?!
What do I have that Hinata doesn't?!
Her cheeks puffed with fury.

Kakashi Hatake, too, wore a rare expression of shock. The first jolt passed quickly, though; he forced himself calm, brow furrowing as he sank into thought.

Sakura finally shook off the shock. She glanced sideways and saw Hinata was bright red from head to toe, poking her fingers together, head down, endlessly mumbling:
"Naruto-kun… how could he dream something like this… Naruto-kun… how could he dream something like this…"
Steam might as well have been rising off her scalp.
Sakura froze.

She absolutely didn't expect quiet, gentle Hinata to be this overwhelmed, like a glitching record.
Then Hinata's vision went black. Her body went limp, her eyes rolling back—
She fainted on the spot.
Sakura hurriedly caught her, panicking.
"H-Hinata! What's wrong?!"
With Hinata unconscious, the figures in the audience began to blur.
Sakura's heart jolted. She knew the dream was about to end.
"Kakashi-sensei, we're waking up!"
Kakashi gave a subtle nod.
In the next instant, the three felt the world warp; the huge screen and dim theater dissolved away…

In just one night, Hinata's storm of emotions hit like waves, making the system's log fly upward with nonstop gains.
As the dream ended, the system panel automatically displayed the settlement.
