Opening Monologue:
"Light is often seen as goodness. But purity is a merciless hunter. When the world is made of absolute light, the shadow becomes the sin, and existence itself is a painful contradiction."
---
Scene 1 — Descent into Corrosion
Lullaby slid down the maintenance chute, exiting the dark Spire and plunging into the Luminous Abyss. The shock was instantaneous and painful.
The Abyss was not a pit, but a vast, open zone where the atmosphere was entirely composed of shimmering, liquid light. Rivers of white-gold essence flowed over the terrain, which was made of polished, heat-resistant crystal.
The light was not merely illumination; it was corrosive.
Lullaby's shadow-body immediately began to tingle with agony. His exoskeleton was durable, but his shadow-skin was screaming, its very molecules reacting painfully to the extreme purity of the light. The suit's internal cooling system struggled against the intense thermal output.
The Orb Companion (Solin) flared violently, instinctively trying to filter and warm the light, but the sheer intensity of the zone overwhelmed its capabilities.
---
Scene 2 — The Third Watcher
Lullaby spotted the objective. The Third Watcher, the Emotional Calibrator, was situated at the convergence of three rivers of light essence. It was an abstract form, appearing as a massive, pulsing prism that refracted the light into thousands of precise colors.
The Watcher's purpose was clearly to test the emotional stability of beings exposed to this environment.
As Lullaby struggled forward, the Emotional Calibrator projected its challenge into his mind—a relentless, internal stream of thought:
"You are Shadow. You are anomaly. Your sorrow is a pollutant, your fear is a flaw. Surrender your chaotic emotional data to achieve absolute purity. Only the purified can exist here."
The light intensified around Lullaby, pushing on his will, attempting to burn away his complicated, human emotions until only a clean, empty core remained.

Scene 3 — The Understanding of Contradiction
Lullaby anchored himself against a crystal outcropping. He was literally fighting against the atmosphere.
He remembered the Second Memory Key—The Seed of Understanding. His challenge in the Spire was proving that existence defied coordinates. Here, he had to prove that value defies purity.
Lullaby focused his Memory Resonance not on protection, but on intellectual counter-projection. He used the Understanding key to recognize the fundamental flaw in the Watcher's logic: Perfection is static.
He projected his complex emotional truth:
"Sorrow is the memory of love. Fear is the memory of loss. My chaos is the evidence of my life. To be pure is to zero. The Galabies were suspended because their data was too complex to be erased. Their complexity is their worth."
---
Scene 4 — The Light Eaters
Lullaby's defiance caused a localized disturbance in the liquid light. The Calibrator recoiled, its prism structure momentarily fragmenting.
However, Lullaby's exposure had already drawn the zone's predators.
From the rivers of light essence, the Luminous Watchers (Bestiary, 3)—small, jellyfish-like forms with bioluminescent cores—emerged. But here, they were aggressive, acting as the Calibrator's immune system.
They swarmed Lullaby, pulsing brilliant, rapid light pulses designed to stun and overwhelm him. This was not a physical attack, but a sensory assault, aimed at forcing him to surrender to emotional paralysis.
Lullaby needed a screen. He looked at the rivers of pure essence flowing past him.
He channeled his M-R, using the Understanding key to perceive the underlying geometric channels of the currents. He saw that the liquid essence was flowing in three separate, parallel streams.
Lullaby pushed himself into the darkest stream—the central channel which flowed over a seam of black, light-absorbing crystal. The crystal surface offered enough shadow to create a momentary screen.
---
Scene 5 — The Third Key
Protected momentarily by the shadow-crystal seam, Lullaby lunged toward the stunned Emotional Calibrator.
The Watcher, still reeling from the philosophical contradiction, released the Third Memory Key.
It was a shard of crystal, vibrating with fierce, warm energy, which fused immediately with Lullaby's suit: The Seed of Emotion.
The Key gave Lullaby a profound understanding: true strength lies in accepting the full spectrum of one's emotional data, even the painful parts.
The coordinates for the Fourth Watcher downloaded: a vast, turbulent area known only as the Fractured Maw (Abstract Beings, 1)—a titanic, living structure of jagged metal and bone.
Lullaby had solved the riddle of Purity. Now, he faced a monster that absorbed both matter and light.
He used the last of his energy, swimming against the current of the light-river, heading toward the darkest crevice he could find for his exit.
