The projectile collided with the shield in a catastrophic detonation that forced the crowd back several steps. The barrier absorbed much of the force, but not all. The explosion engulfed him, blasting him backward more than ten meters.
The storm clouds shattered. The gathered lightning dispersed.
Wester Silver hit the ground hard, coughing blood.
Inside the tank, Kiara exhaled.
"That should do."
Outside, he staggered upright, rage overriding reason.
"I am the head of House Silver," he rasped, blood staining his robes. "How dare a mere—"
She did not allow him to finish.
*Boom*
He leapt sideways in desperation.
The shell curved midair.
For a split second, even Kiara blinked.
The projectile altered its trajectory as if guided by an invisible hand and struck him squarely in the chest.
Another explosion detonated.
He was launched across the courtyard, smashing into a fractured wall and collapsing amid falling stone.
Kiara stared at her screen. "Uhh… what?"
