Rainer hesitated for half a breath, then nodded and led them upstairs. He knocked three times on a door before a woman opened it, brows knitting slightly in confusion.
"Miss Galina, Miss Kiara wishes to meet Jareth. Please wait downstairs," Rainer said quickly.
The woman bowed and retreated.
They entered.
Jareth sat at a small wooden table, bottle in hand, body swaying gently. The room smelled of stale alcohol. His eyes were unfocused.
He squinted toward them.
"Who are you lot?" he slurred, pointing vaguely in the wrong direction.
Kiara inhaled slowly.
"I came for something simple," she muttered internally. "Why does this always complicate?"
"Rainer," she said aloud, "bring a tub of water."
Moments later, water sloshed into a large basin.
*snap*
"Zion. Sober him up."
As she snapped her fingers, Zion stepped forward without complaint.
He grabbed Jareth by the hair and plunged his head into the water.
The splash echoed against wooden walls.
