The crowded military tent was very warm, filled with nobles, mostly renowned Lords, knights, and warriors. The flames provided warmth, and the aroma of roasted meat and warm wine was enchanting, with Dornish Summer Reds and golden wines from The Reach. These fine wines were among Frey's treasured collections for many years, now enjoyed by other guests.
Gendry sat behind the high table in the tent, dressed in a velvet outfit of black, gold, and red. Gold and black were the colors of Baratheon, and before that, Durrendon, while black and red were for Targaryen. Robb wore a grey velvet, white-trimmed woolen tunic, symbolizing the Stark colors.
On one side, Ser Boros of the Claw Peninsula raised his glass and offered a toast: "To His Highness Gendry, heir to the iron throne, Lord of the Stepstones, Myr, and Tyrosh, the liberator, the 'triumphant storm,' and to his fiancée, the last true dragon, stormborn, the silver-haired Princess Daenerys! To the friendship of the stag and the Direwolf, may it be as rich as this fine wine!"
Bronze Yohn Royce then stood up and shouted, "To the old gods and new gods, may the gods bless us! Marriage! Friendship! Victory!"
"Marriage! Friendship! Victory!" The Gold Cloaks, crabfeeders men, Lords of the Vale, and Lords of the Riverlands all echoed, cheering loudly, for the union of the two storms, and the renewed charge of the dragon, wolf, stag, and fish.
The Northern Lords also drank their wine. Great Jon Umber was the first to mumble and shout, "Marriage! Friendship! Victory!"
Lady Catelyn, the Blackfish, and Robb, along with the other Northern Lords, all shouted, "Marriage! Friendship! Victory!"
"The storm has come!" Robb Stark thought to himself. He looked at the enthusiastic Lords across the table. The stag commanded them as if they were extensions of his own arms. These men, after the battle, were fiercely loyal. It was an aura shaped by power, authority, victory, and charisma, radiating to everyone around him. In that instant, Robb realized he might just be an impetuous youth, facing a storm. His face was as red as his hair.
Under the storm's aura, even the usually arrogant Northern Lords seemed diminished. Those Lords appeared to be born to serve him. There was no need to mention Great Jon, the boorish 'Gendry-flatterer.' While Robb had tamed Great Jon, much of that was Grey Wind's doing. Robb himself saw that even Roose Bolton was like a docile sheep. Just as Robert was known for his highly approachable charisma, straightforward personality, and extraordinary ability to turn enemies into friends.
"Even if I have to bend the knee, I need to consider the conditions I have," Robb pondered. The alliances among Lords were mostly based on marriage and career opportunities (mostly for promoting Attendants and adopted sons).
But the wolf and the stag were too young, and the marriage between the dragon and the stag was already inevitable. Aside from her inhuman beauty, even the most foolish person understood the value of the last true dragon, and this was even before most people knew of the birth of the dragons.
Robb, on the other hand, had little beyond his Northern soldiers. grain and supplies were insufficient. He was too young, had no Child, and no wife. And his sisters were now trapped in King's Landing, their lives uncertain.
"He must bear his responsibilities," Catelyn looked at her son beside her, likely still preoccupied. Catelyn couldn't help but worry for her son. Even with a beard, Robb was pretending to be an adult, while his ally was the true leader, like a warrior descended from the heavens. The stag had captivated everyone with his aura and charisma.
"He really does look too much like Robert, only taller," the Blackfish whispered to Catelyn. "The same tall stature, generous nature, and fierce fighting spirit."
Catelyn nodded. In his youth, Robert had been a clean-shaven, strapping man with clear, captivating eyes, like a maiden's dream. Robb and Gendry were almost the same age, but Gendry was clearly more handsome, open-minded, and resolute than Robb. The comparison was like Brandon and Eddard of old.
