Her arms were wrapped tightly around mine, pressing it right between her breasts. Sarah's bright blue eyes were locked onto mine, her slender fingers gently caressing my chest.
"You must be really tired from the trip, Rick. You should rest for the night in a warm, comfy bed."
I wasn't naive enough not to understand what she was implying. She was clearly in the mood.
"I think it's better to leave you alone," Joseph said, stepping away from the table where we had been talking.
"If you need anything, just ask," Ingrid added before following him.
"I'll have another beer."
"Me too." The miners had already shifted their attention away from our conversation, enjoying themselves as they ordered more drinks. The rest of the tavern felt like a different world—one completely disconnected from me and Sarah.
