Chapter 1 - Chapter 1

In an age when humanity had to competite fearlessly for surviver, the world was not just made of humans. But humanity had split into four different kinds.

The first were the Lycans - creatures that looked like people but could transform into giant werewolves at will, but sometimes some of them after their first transformation were unable to transform back, causing them to remain as werewolf monsters for the rest of their days. They were strong, fast, and wild. Many believed they were children of fallen angels, cursed to walk the earth as beasts.

The second were the Witches—humans who practiced dark magic, especially the magic of death. They were feared and hated, even by their own people. Some witches could curse whole villages with plague spells in order to sacrifice human souls for more power. Because of this they were the most hated creatures of mankind, causing them to be hunted down by humans and burned alive. With no place in the world for them, all the witches went into hiding, casting their spells in secret.

The third were the Hunters. These were awakened humans who had slightly enhanced strength and speed compared to that of an average person. Yet their physical abilities were nowhere near to those of the Lycans. Aware of the gap, the Hunters turned to knowledge—mastering weapons, tactics, and combat techniques. They dedicated their lives to hunting Lycans, whom they viewed as a grave threat to mankind.

"Fourthly were the humans, who, unlike the others, possessed no supernatural abilities or extraordinary strength. They were greedy, selfish, and loved killing one another in their endless pursuit of wealth." However, this did not render them weak. On the contrary, driven by their will to survive and thrive in a world ruled by monsters, they relied on intelligence and resilience. Through relentless pursuit of knowledge, they forged tools and innovations that would one day shape the world itself." But these divisions were fragile. And the balance—already strained—was about to break.

I stood selflessly in the center of the witch coven with my head facing down while surrounded by a group of witches as their voices ripped through me like knives.

"He is a traitor!"

"what an imposter…. "He should be hanged to death!"

"They murdered our kind - and you side with them?, those ruthless beings!. "Did you forget what they did to your mother?

My mother's name was spat into the storm, reminding me of how I was brought into this world. my mother was the most beautiful woman you would ever see and to top it up she was the high witch of the coven, but not until she got captured by the humans. She was held as a prisoner in Zealand by king aulock in order to be used as a weapon to Conquer other kingdoms, but in the process king aulock couldn't resist her incomprehensible beauty so he forced himself into her and got her pregnant with me. After giving birth to me, he found no use for her because she refused to be controlled by him so he ordered her killed.

I was the only male born witch in history, given to all witches are born females with a tattoo mark on their wrists. But me, for no reason I was born male while still bearing the tattoo on my wrist, meaning I was a witch. And I was also the crown prince of Zealand, the first son of king aulock. but none of that matter for I was nothing more than a forbidden witch, brought to this world with force by my father king aulock in order to be used as a weapon for war.

The king, finding me interesting as the first male born witch in history, decided to perfect me into a weapon but I got adopted from the castle by my late mother's witch coven when I was just 7 years old.

To stop king aulock from ever finding me or with the fear that I will one day turn against them, the witches could not succumb to killing me due to my mother's high-status in the coven so they decided to seal away power leaving me as vulnerable as a human.

Silence!. .

The loud voice suddenly cut through the chaos, forcing everyone to quiet. That loud voice came from the high witch who was supposedly my aunt, the sister of my late mother. Her gaze was colder than Starlight when it landed on me with disappointment. "You broke our most sacred vow," she said. "You consorted with a human. you being an abomination to our bloodline wasn't enough and yet you still went ahead and conceived a child with a human.

My lips trembled. I wanted to tell her Lisa, the woman I had fallen in love with, wasn't like other humans as they think. she's different, she has the most purest soul I have ever seen. but I couldn't say anything. A low rank witch like me had no right to speak before the high witch. Her hand rose and pointed at me and the others followed her lead, leaving every fingers in the coven pointing at me. I couldn't help but feel the weight of their judgmental fingers pressing me into the earth.

"You are hereby banished." The high witch declared with her Sharp cold voice. "your name erased. you are no longer one of us."

Go!. the high witch shouted at me. Go! Go! The others followed. Go! go, go…

they kept on shouting at me until I walked away, each step tearing me further from the life I once knew. Yet in my heart, there was no regret. For I had chosen love. I ran to her.

Lisa.

I ran so fast until my lungs burned. The woods tore at my clothes, branches scratching across my skin, but I didn't care because at that point the only thing on my mind was Lisa and I could still hear and feel the child's heartbeat she was carrying within her. When I burst into her home, she looked at me with wide eyes in shock. Her beauty was still glowing even in fear. "Drake, what's wrong?. she asks, terrified by the way I just barged in. "They know," I said while still trying to gasp for air.

"what, who. What are you talking about? She stood up from the wooden chair she sat on and rushed to me, trying to comfort me.

"My coven, I don't know how they found out but they know you're carrying my child and they think it is a curse. We must leave tonight."

hearing those words came out of my mouth her hands instantly went to her stomach and I saw the fear flash in her eyes.

"Our child is not a curse!. she protested.

" I know my coven, they will find a way and come for you and the child. I whispered and at the same time desperately grabbed her shoulders. "Lisa, please run away with me, let's go somewhere far away from the wickedness of this world.

After saying does words to her I witness as she smiled through her fear, with her blues crystal eyes locked to mine. the words that came out of her mouth next, became a vow that pierced deep into my soul: " wherever you go, i'll follow." Hearing her say those words, at that very moment she became my entire world and my home.
