A sharp gasp left Carmines' lips before his brain go numb and he couldn't hear anything anymore,Leila pull him in to her chest further like a mama bear protecting their baby,Luke and Finn both move front to cover them from what was happeneing.
''We have to take him to te doctor''Leila screamed seeing there's no nay movement of Carmine.she was terrified see him like this, she felt part of her was loosing by seeing him like this.
Luke and Finn both get to work carring carmine'' walk in the front,Lady'' they instruct Leila, knowing it's too dangerous they made their way to the car side by side as fast as possible.
the backgroud noise faded as the car drive away from the warehouse,Leila hold Carmine in her embrace still shaking like a feather,he wasn't moving a bit his breathing is low,it was like he was barely alive.
they made it to his persona; doctors place in ten minutes,he was ready with two nurses when they arrived,they hurried him to operating room,while nurses made three of them wait outside almost like an hour.
Leila was so nervous that she start to pick on her nails,she's afraid of loosing him when she just start to fall for him.
An hour went by nothing heard from the doctor Finn and Luke are pasing near by impatiently this is the first time Carmine went unconscious after getting shot,he had get up walk away after being shot before but today was different may be it's the place he got shot or may be i's the truth that unravel by marco.
when the doctor emerge from the ER ,Leila was the first jump out of her seat,she ran to doctor to get an information.all she want to hear is he's stable.
''H...How is he? Is he....Is he okay?''her voice stutter but she couldn't help it.
''He's stable for now,it happened because of the sudden loss of blood pressure,that's normal,you can rest assure'' he patted her shoulder,making her less nervous,she nodded though her heart is still stammering inside her chest.
''you can meet him once we move him into vvip room''that means the top floor with external guards are everywhere,she glupped once then move aside letting the doctor walk away.
she saw nurses dragging his stretcher to the elevator,she followed them with Finn and Luke,when she reached to the top floor Carmine was already put in the bed and the nurses are walking out of the room,they gave her a smile that didn't reached their eyes,Leila simply noded ,not wanting to mingle with them she rushed insie while Finn and Luke guard the door.
Inside the room Carmine is still unconscious with bandages everywhere,she sat next to him, holding his good hand.her eyes welled up instantly,she had never seen him this vulnerable out of all when she have already fall for him.
''why does everyone I love have to suffer..'' her choked sob echo through the walls like a curse,everyone she loved had left her already but Carmine she just start fall for him when he got hurt it breaks her like a glass,she doesn't want to loose him at all.
he's the first man she ever felt comfortable and protected in her whole life.
she ugly cried for almost an hour until exhausted caught her and she fell asleep on the side of the bed still holding Carmine's hand.she didn't wake up till the next morning but when she woke up she saw that Carmine was already awake and looking at her with admiration in his eyes,his face still hold the tiredness from yesterday though he try to hide it witha plastered smile.
''You stayed here?'' his voice is weak almost like a whisper,her eyes welled up again ready to cry any moment,Carmines' hand try to reached ro her cheek still trembling,when it made a contact with her skin she broke down putting her hand over his she lean on to his chest ,not hardly.
''Don't do that again'' she choked out her body is shaking with her sobs,making Carmines' heart ache,he never intend to make her cry,everything happened because of what that old hag told about her.
''I'd do anything if that means protecting you''his voice is weak but still firm holding that mafia boss tone
''I almost lost you,I.....I don't...*gulp*....I don't want to loose you'' that sentence made his chest swelled with love and pure shock.
she never showed that she;s interested in him for the last few weeks since she arrived but she's crying because she's affraid of loosing him.he thought it'll always be onesided since she get easily traumatized by men,but here she is crying because she thought she almost lost him.
he let her cry staring at how pretty crier she is,he held her with his good hand until she calmdown to ask question he wanted to ask since he woke up.
It's been thirty minutes when she finally calm down and pull away from his chest,he held her good hand making her look at him silently.
