Chapter 14 - Chapter 14: A Small Favor

"8,400 silver coins. At the current price, that's about 70 gold coins," Bruno said, looking at Fabian. "Give Kaiden 70 gold coins."

There was still some food left at home.

Fabian was about to leave, but Kaiden clapped and said, "I didn't expect Bruno brother to be so good at math. But you might have misunderstood."

"What do you mean?" Bruno frowned. He didn't even want to give the money.

This guy was really pushing it.

Kaiden bowed slightly and said, "Let me introduce myself again. I'm Kaiden from the Heavenly Gang. My dad is Master of the Mountain Section, Tarnison. He's a 7-stage Arcane Power user."

Fabian glared and said, "What are you trying to do? Threaten us?"

"I don't mean to," Kaiden shrugged, but looked at the Hornes castle. "It's just that in this world, power talks. If you don't have power, it's hard to keep this property. If a gang comes to take it, I can't protect it."

That was a threat.

Bruno clenched his fists and said coldly, "The ones wanting to steal are you guys, right?"

"Hahahaha," Kaiden laughed, slapping Bruno on the shoulder. "Brother, don't be silly. I'm helping you make money, not coming to steal. You know, the world is not safe these days. There are a lot of people with ideas."

He shook his head and said to the tattooed guy, "Come on, Kent. Find a time to bring the goods to my brother."

The two left, leaving Bruno and Fabian standing alone.

Fabian's face was angry. "This is unacceptable. What a bunch of bastards. How did the Heavenly Gang get into the noble district?" He paused. "Wait, right, why is our old house in the noble district?"

He didn't know that his master had already sold the noble title. So that memory was just taken away and replaced with the idea that Paul was the noble.

Bruno said seriously, "Don't think too much. The Heavenly Gang is too strong for us."

Monitz's gang was just small-time. The Heavenly Gang was a real, big-time organized crime group.

One of their department heads was a 7-stage Arcane Power user. You could imagine how strong this group was.

Fabian's eyes widened. He said worriedly, "Even so, we can't help them carry drugs. It's too dangerous."

The Hope Serum was heavily banned by the government. If caught, the punishment was serious. They could be beheaded or torn apart. And once you got involved, you couldn't get out.

"Well..." Bruno said seriously. "Give me some time."

He turned and went back to the training room, leaving Fabian pacing back and forth, full of worry.

The old housekeeper never understood. The house was finally getting better, and now so many problems came up again.

Bruno returned to the training room. His body quickly changed. He became hunched and old, his hair turned gray. Bolantie appeared again.

The old man looked out the window and snorted. "Kaiden is a 1-stage warrior. I don't know what fighting technique he's using. Kent is also 1-stage. Right now, with my Thunderclap Breathing Method, plus my The Ten Thousand Hells that far exceeds normal people, and my perfect Tiger-Wolf Combat Technique, I can easily fight both of them..."

Thinking about that, the old man's body suddenly burst with energy that didn't match his old body. He jumped through the window and ran straight toward Kaiden and Kent.

Kaiden and Kent walked side by side on the stone road. They had already collected the management fees from the area and were on their way back.

"Master," Kent said, smiling and showing his yellow teeth, "that Hornes kid was pretty smart earlier. But are we really going to let him carry the goods? I don't think he's the type to handle big responsibilities."

Kaiden sneered and put his hands in his pockets. "The authorities are cracking down hard these days. The old routes are all unsafe. Let Bruno try. We'll know if he's a good horse or a bad one after one trip."

Kent grumbled, "I'm just worried he can't handle it and rats us out."

Bloom City had an inspection office. It was in charge of monitoring commoners and all kinds of crimes in the city.

"Che, those guys only care about money," Kaiden said, not even taking it seriously.

The Heavenly Gang had become big not just because of their strength. They also had connections all the way up and down the line.

As they were walking, Kaiden suddenly stopped.

At the mouth of the alley, a hunched figure stood there. He was backlit, his face hidden in the shadows.

The man was small in size, his hair gray. He looked old, but his stance was as steady as a mountain.

"Old man, something wrong?" Kaiden was very sensitive. He knew right away that the old man was after him.

The old man slowly raised his head and smiled. "Nothing, just passing by."

But Kaiden didn't think it was that simple. He stood still and said coldly, "You go first."

The old man nodded and thanked him, then walked past Kaiden. Suddenly, the old man raised his head, and his eyes looked at Kaiden like an eagle.

Boom!

A powerful, fierce aura exploded.

In Kaiden's eyes, the old man's body was glowing. He was turning into a skeleton, surrounded by ghosts.

"The Ten Thousand Hells..." Kaiden's mind shot with that thought. He was shocked by the old man's power.

His mind was stunned, just like the martial arts hall staff who had only seen Bruno's breakthrough and then lost consciousness.

Kent saw the old man's murderous intent and was shocked. How could an old man be that strong?

In the next second.

Bruno suddenly attacked. His fist moved like lightning, with a strong wind. It hit Kaiden's chest.

A tiger's roar echoed.

Kaiden was blown back, coughing up blood. His energy dropped and he was close to death.

Kent was even more scared.

Is this the old man?

This old man was like a tiger breaking free from a cage. His speed was amazing!

Luckily, he had a lot of battle experience. He roared, "Die!" and attacked right away.

Bruno narrowed his eyes. In the blink of an eye, he was already in front of Kent. His right hand turned into a claw, aiming straight for Kent's throat!

Kent wasn't slow. He crossed his arms to block.

Crack! A loud sound. Kent's arm snapped in half!

"Argh!!" The tough guy screamed in pain.

Where did this old man come from? He was way too strong.

A single punch had shattered his arm.

Kent hadn't even had time to react when Bruno's left fist slammed into his chest.

Kent coughed up blood. His body flew backward like a broken kite, crashed into the wall, and slid down to the ground.

All of this happened in a flash. The two were taken down in seconds.

The old man walked over to Kent, reached out, and his sharp claw grabbed Kent's throat. Blood poured out. The scene was bloody and terrifying.

Kent's head tilted. He died without knowing what happened, his eyes full of fear and confusion.

He never understood what had just happened.

Kaiden lay on the ground, making a weak sound. He was near death, but still had a little breath left. The old man walked over and kicked his chest. That one kick shattered Kaiden's heart. He was dead beyond death.

The son of the Mountain Division of the Heavenly Gang, dying in a strange way. It was a sad end.

After finishing everything, the old man jumped away quickly.

The noise caught the attention of people nearby. A young man came to check it out. When he saw the bloody scene, he was so scared he couldn't stand up. He ran away, crawling and rolling, to call the police.

Hornes Castle.

Bruno wiped his forehead as he walked out of the bathroom. His body still carried a strong killing intent.

Killing intent is a strange thing. To others, being near someone with it feels uncomfortable. Like something cold and dark.

But it's real.

The look in someone who has killed is different from someone who hasn't.

He used Bolantie's identity to kill Kaiden and Kent. Naturally, he couldn't avoid picking up a killing intent.

"I was able to kill two 1-stage Arcane Power users so easily. It's all thanks to The Ten Thousand Hells, a high-level meditation technique. It let my mental power crush them. They didn't even have time to react before they died," Bruno said, sitting at the table and thinking over the fight.

He thought to himself, "I can do better next time..." Then he thought about how to cover up, "I killed in a fit of rage. It should be hard to prove. But I still need to make sure..."
