After she explained what her martial spirit was, she and her father went straight to the market to sell the rabbit hide and some other forest goods that her father had hunted.
All in all, they sold all their goods for a total of 1 silver soul coin and 25 copper soul coins. Which isn't that bad, but, then you consider the risks put into earning that much money in just 2 weeks, then it's a just income.
After that, her father took out 30 copper coins from his money pouch and gave it to Lin Xiurong as her money for the next two weeks. After a few minutes of walking, they arrived in front of the gates of Nuoding Beginner Spirit Master Academy.
When they arrived there, they saw two people arguing with the guard at the gate. One boy and one old man, though it weren't long before the fight was ended by a white-haired middle-aged man who berated the guard.
Walking through the gate, Lin Xiurong just happened to witness the scene of Tang San taking Yu Xiaogang as his master.
"A master for a day, a father for life!"
Tang San knelt before Yu Xiaogang, as he proclaimed loudly.
"Silly boy, you don't have to do this at all." Yu Xiaogang bent down and lifted Tang San from his kneeling position.
'What a bunch of weirdos.'
Lin Xiurong wiped the cold sweat on her forehead, before taking a detour to the right. She refused to be acknowledged as being in the same group as those two.
Following the guard's instructions, Lin Xiurong arrived at the admission office. Where she came across the master and disciple again.
Recalling what she saw earlier, she took a few steps to the right, leaving a large space between the two.
"Is something wrong, student?" Yu Xiaogang asked, slightly puzzled at this student's behavior.
"No, I'm just a bit afraid of strangers." She said, before entering the admission office.
She completed her enrollment process in a few minutes, before being assigned to the working student dormitory 7.
Upon arriving there, she heard boisterous cheers through the cracks of the door. Opening the door, she saw a group of students surrounding two people.
One girl wearing all pink with two bunny ears, a long braided pony tail, and a bunny tail. The other is the boy that she met earlier near the admission office, wearing simple clothing with a few stiches here and there.
Hearing the door open, the group looked over to see a girl with short hair, a cute face, and wearing clothes made of bear leather.
A tall student emerged from the crowd, who then whispered to the bunny girl. Lin Xiurong didn't know what that guy whispered to the girl, but, she could see the girl's eyes practically lighting up when she looked over.
"Ehem, so, I'm the new boss of Dormitory 7, if you wanted to live here, you have to fight me first." The girl proudly pointed at herself with her thumb, her mouth splitting into a toothy grin.
"Uh, maybe no, I'm not interested." With that, she walked to a bed in the corner and set her bag on the table besides it.
Whoosh! Whoosh!
Thud!
"What do you mean by this, classmate?"
Lin Xiurong turned around to see a spear and the girl's leg locked in a stalemate, the spear extended from the box on her waist. Then the whole body of the paper figurine slowly stepped out of it as the girl leapt back.
"That looks strong! My name is Xiao Wu, what's your name?" Xiao Wu's eyes lit up as she readied herself for another attack.
'I really have no time to be playing like this, let's better end this quickly.'
With that thought in mind, Lin Xiurong didn't answer Xiao Wu's question, instead, she took out three more paper figurine from her box and threw them out.
The three paper figurine quickly grew to the size of a small child, along with the first one, they surrounded Xiao Wu in a box formation.
Xiao Wu's expression turned serious, scanning the four figure to look for a loophole to break through to get to Lin Xiurong the master of these paper figurines.
"Stop thinking." Lin Xiurong said as the four paper figurines moves simultaneously, stabbing in Xiao Wu's direction.
"Waist Bow!" A yellow spirit ring appeared under Xiao Wu as she bent her body in a way impossible to normal humans, avoiding the four spears that stabbed at her.
Though she avoided that attack, her actions left her vulnerable as the four spears locked her in place, and with no time to generate new force, to which her opponent took advantage of.
"You're wide open."
Twang! Whoosh!
Lin Xiurong let go of the paper string on the bow in her hands letting loose an arrow that shot straight to Xiao Wu's head.
"Ah!"
Just like that, the battle ended quickly, though, it can hardly be called a battle when it's more of a one-sided-beat-down.
Xiao Wu laid face flat at the floor, rubbing her swollen temple, a few tears gathered at the corner of her eyes. She glared at the figure setting up her own bed in a corner of the dormitory.
Seemingly sensing her stare, the figure turned around and locked eyes with her, before casually walked straight to her.
A figure from the side quickly walked up and blocked the girl's path, staring at her seriously.
"Classmate, you already won the battle, why do you need to go further?" Tang San said righteously, "If you want to fight more, I can fight you for her."
Ignoring this delusional child in front of her, Lin Xiurong walked pass him and continued heading for Xiao Wu.
Tang San's face darkened when he saw the girl ignoring him, stepping up once more to block her path, only to find himself surround by four paper figurines, their spears pointing at his throat.
"Shut up, I'm not interested in you."
Arriving in front of Xiao Wu, Lin Xiurong squatted down before roughly grabbing the girl's face and forced it to stare at herself.
Xiao Wu's eyes were gleaming with hatred and a bit of shyness as she tried to squirm her face away from her captor's grasp.
"That's quite the expression," Lin Xiurong said, amused at the girl's efforts to escape, before reminding Xiao Wu of her other appendages. "If you really hate this that much, don't you have hands to force my hand away?"
Xiao Wu's face froze when she heard that, before quickly turning red as she curled up to hide her face from the other people in the room.
Creak!
The sound of the door opening attracted the attention of the group, as a teacher carrying a quilt walked inside.
"Who are the working students that had just enrolled this semester?"
Lin Xiurong, Tang San, and Xiao Wu quickly lined up in front of the teacher, though the last one tried her best to maintain a steady face, yet her red face says otherwise.
The teacher noticed this too as she asked.
"What happened to this student?"
"Nothing teacher, I just hit my face when I tripped earlier." Xiao Wu quickly lied, not wanting to spend another moment looking like this, she really want to just hole up in her bed.
"Okay, who's Tang San, raise your hand," The teacher didn't take it seriously, moving on to her real task in coming here.
Tang San raised his hand, the teacher then gave the quilt that she was holding to him.
"The Grandmaster asked me to bring this to you, now that it had been given, I will assign you to your working areas."
"Tang San you are assigned to clean the garden near the teacher's building at every morning and evening."
"Xiao Wu and Lin Xiurong, you two are assigned to cleaning the back garden near the playground behind the school."
The three nodded before going back to settle their belongings as the teacher left the room.
