Chapter 14 - Chapter 13

As I passed through the spatial gate Ophis had torn open, air completely different from that of the Dimensional Gap filled my lungs.

Thick, heavy, and saturated with magical power.

Looking around, a lavish garden decorated with crimson crystals came into view.

No matter how I think about it, this isn't the Earth I know...

"The Underworld."

I don't know how she knew what I was thinking, but Ophis answered indifferently.

Is that so? This is the Underworld?

To think the first place I return to after tens of thousands of years is the Underworld, of all places.

And judging by the decorations, it looks like the middle of a Devil noble's territory.

Where exactly in the Underworld is this?

"Who goes there?!"

Just then, a voice sharp with wariness rang out.

Turning my head, I saw a handsome, blond, middle-aged man dressed in flashy aristocratic attire staring at us with caution.

He had a handsome face that looked like it would have made quite a few women cry in his youth, but his eyes held the dignity befitting the head of a household.

"Hmm, actually, I'm the one who wants to ask. Who are you?"

"I am Riorel Phenex. The current Lord of the great House of Phenex, which governs fire and wind."

Ah, so is this man Riser Phenex's father?

In the original story, he was just called Lord Phenex, so this is the first time I've learned his name.

"So, who are you, and why have you suddenly appeared in our territory—no, in the courtyard of our estate?"

"I didn't even know this was your courtyard, though?"

I shrugged as I answered.

"I-Is that so?"

Riorel seemed momentarily flustered by my nonchalant response.

"Yeah, we just came out of the Dimensional Gap and happened to end up here. We had no particular intention."

"Even so, I must ask for your identities. The power I feel from you is by no means ordinary."

"Hmm... Well... From the perspective of you Devils, I suppose I'm something close to a nemesis."

At my words, Riorel's expression hardened.

My revenge against the Devils was already over.

After killing three Satans and absorbing the souls of tens of thousands of Devils, my hatred toward them had cooled during my time sealed away.

I couldn't kill Lucifer, but seeing the Phenex Lord in front of me suggests this is near the timeline of the original story or slightly before.

If so, the Old Satan Lucifer would be long dead.

The God of the Bible as well.

In that case, the only target for revenge left for me is Azazel.

"Nemesis? What do you mean?"

"Because I'm the one who killed three of the Satans, excluding Lucifer."

"...What?!"

Riorel's eyes were dyed with shock.

He looked me over once more, then spoke with a trembling voice as if realizing something.

"I see... So you are the Chaos Dragon spoken of only in legends."

"Chaos Dragon?"

"The aberrant Dragon that appeared suddenly at the end of the Great War, cornered the Heavenly Dragons, inflicted grievous wounds upon the God of the Bible, the original Lucifer, and the Governor General of the Fallen Angels, and killed three Satans. The Calamity that appeared in the world, the Immortal Monster that cannot be killed, the Destroyer of All Creation—that is how the legend has been passed down."

What the hell is that...

"Why is the introduction so grandiose?"

"...Then, is it false?"

"No, most of it is true, but..."

Shit, that's cringy as hell.

"So, are you going to take revenge? I am the enemy of your lords."

I asked with a smirk.

I am ready to accept it anytime.

Didn't someone say that revenge begets revenge?

Then I, too, would become someone's enemy, so I thought I would have to pay the price someday.

So I had already prepared my heart for it.

At that moment, the two beings behind me exploded with killing intent.

"I will kill anyone who opposes Master."

Sera growled, looking at Riorel.

Her golden eyes had already transformed into those of a dragon.

"Oh my. To think there is a foolish person pointing a blade at Master. Shall I make you dream a nightmare you will never wake from?"

Hwaryeong smiled elegantly, blooming the power of Dreams as she revealed her killing intent.

"Tilt? Hit."

And Ophis, seeing the two of them, seemingly thought she had to attack as well and quietly raised her hand.

Do others know?

That this small child is the strongest, even compared to the two beside her.

What would happen if that small hand were to strike down?

Surely, not just that mansion, but a part of the Underworld would be blown away.

"Everyone, calm down."

At my low command, the killing intent of the two vanished like a lie.

"That is my karma, so I must accept it and solve it myself. Do not interfere."

"...If Master says so."

"Yes, Master... Then shall I prepare some tea?"

"Mmn."

Looking back at Riorel, he was already sweating bullets.

As a Head of a House, he must be at least an Ultimate-Class Devil, but look at who he's dealing with.

He must have felt pressure that shaved away at his soul from just that brief moment of killing intent.

"...Is there any guarantee that you will not harm our Phenex territory?"

He asked, barely regaining his composure.

"There isn't. But if I intended to harm you, I would have already transformed into the form you know and turned this place to ash."

"I-Is that so? In that
