Chapter 16 - Chapter 16: Return to Blue Star

"Thank you for your patronage!"

The girl smiled cheerfully as she saw Roy off.

Apocalypse apostles in the Space could contact each other through the interface, a convenient function Roy only discovered after flipping through the guide manual.

The girl felt Roy was a potential big client, so she added him as a contact. Roy opened the interface and saw the girl's name.

She was named Anna.

As for his own name, it was still a string of incomprehensible garbled code. This wasn't a system error; it was because Roy hadn't decided what name to give himself yet.

"Forget it."

He closed the interface. The garbled code was fine; anyway, he didn't need to contact anyone, nor did he need anyone to know him. Then, Roy's eyes sharpened.

Having resolved everything in the Space, it was time to return to the Blue Star. He hadn't forgotten that the white-haired man's blade was still pressed against his neck.

Roy figured that upon returning to Blue Star, he might understand the root cause of the apocalypse.

He was particularly concerned about what that white-haired man meant by "beacon" This could be a crucial clue.

Tzz tzz—

Roy chose to leave the Space, and his figure flickered and vanished.

_______

Blue Star

Roy's figure reappeared. The stalled time resumed its movement. The white-haired man, holding his long blade, swung down, about to cleave off Roy's head.

In an instant,

Oong—

Boom!

A violent force erupted, shaking the sky and the earth. Invisible telekinesis swept through the surroundings, blasting a large number of structures into mid-air.

The air and light were distorted beyond recognition, making Roy's form difficult to see. He stood on the ruins, like a deity descended upon the world.

Bang!

The white-haired man's body was sent flying backward, slamming into the ruins and carving a trench over a hundred meters long. He stood up, his expression one of disbelief.

"What happened?"

When he saw Roy's condition, he suddenly realized the truth. His confused expression instantly became extremely excited. He spat out a mouthful of blood and said: "So, you're a bloodthirsty beast, are you?"

Blade light flashed.

The white-haired man instantly unleashed a massive slash that split the ruins, striking directly at Roy. However, the surging telekinesis swept over it, and the huge slash was directly dispersed.

Roy raised his hand. The white-haired man's figure flew uncontrollably toward Roy, held by the neck in mid-air. Roy spoke coldly.

"Tell me, who are you, and what is the beacon?"

"Cough, cough!"

The white-haired man coughed up blood, yet showed no fear. His expression was incredibly excited. He laughed and said: "The beacon? You'll find out if you look for it yourself. As for me, I will come looking for you again."

With that, the white-haired man swung the long blade in his hand. Before he could make a move, his entire body exploded into a rain of blood. Roy didn't care; he would surely be able to get answers from someone else. The destruction of the Blue Star civilization was not solely the work of this white-haired man.

Roy picked up the white-haired man's long blade. The blade was extremely sharp, its body carrying a faint crimson color. Utilizing the Voice of All Things ability, he listened to the blade's faint whisper.

"Red Steel? Sirius?"

Aliens?!

This truth was logical yet unexpected. Roy put the loot into his personal space. He didn't recklessly blanket the entire Blue Star with his telekinesis to search for the enemy.

Given that these people possessed the ability for long-distance interstellar travel, both their power level and technological advancement were absolutely extraordinary.

Releasing his telekinesis on a large scale would mean declaring his position to everyone the moment he found the enemy. This was extremely dangerous when the enemy's strength and numbers were unclear.

Besides, even without using telekinesis to search for the enemy, Roy could still find them. The Voice of All Things was best utilized in this situation.

Whoosh—

The wind swept by, bringing Roy several pieces of information.

"Found them."

Boom!

Roy's figure went from still to kinetic, vanishing instantly. The air compressed by his high-speed movement unleashed a shockwave that blasted a huge crater in the ruins.

______

One hundred kilometers away, on the ruins, a knight wearing silver-white armor was battling an old man dressed in blue robes. The commotion was immense, and the destructive force was astonishing.

Dark blue light wrapped around the old man's fist. Despite being an old man, his physique was unusually robust. He leaped up, swinging his fist down, and shouted:

"Ha!"

The knight saw this but showed no fear. A silver-white aura surged around him, and he swung his sword, unleashing a massive slash that met the old man's fist like a meteor striking the Earth.

Boom!

A massive sound passed. A hundred-meter-wide crater appeared in the ruins, but the knight and the old man were completely unharmed, continuing their fierce battle.

Just as they were about to continue, both their movements paused momentarily.

"Let's halt the fight for now."

"Someone is coming."

As soon as the words fell, Roy's figure appeared in mid-air. The air compressed by his high-speed movement suddenly exploded, and the atmosphere instantly became tense.

The moment Roy appeared, both the knight and the old man felt a spine-tingling sensation. The hair on their bodies stood on end.

A powerhouse!

Undoubtedly a powerhouse!

Both had grown up through countless battles, possessing rich experience. They knew immediately that Roy was someone overwhelmingly strong.

"Pardon the interruption, gentlemen."

Roy slowly descended onto a collapsed high-rise building and asked the two: "If possible, could you tell me your reason for fighting? Also, what is the beacon?"

This was not a request. Either they answered Roy's questions, or Roy would deal with them on the spot. Roy would show no mercy to those who had destroyed the Blue Star civilization.

Roy didn't even know the implication of the question, yet while he was silent, the two didn't dare to act rashly. After he finished asking, the knight, however, decisively attacked him.

Bang!

The silver-white slash was blocked by a telekinetic shield and couldn't advance further. The knight maintained his swinging posture, suspended in mid-air and unable to move.

"Incorrect response."

Roy showed no mercy, directly crushing the knight into a bloody metallic mess. The instant he eliminated the knight, he finally understood what the beacon was.

[ Points acquired: 3000 ]

A message poured into Roy's mind, followed by an interface window that only Roy could see appearing before him. From the message, Roy learned that this was the Beacon Store—the "beacon" the white-haired man had mentioned.

Roy was stunned.

What was this supposed to be?

Another Space?

Logically, this world Roy was in should have been completely anchored by the Apocalypse Space, and thus entirely under its control.

Why would something similar to the Apocalypse Space appear?

Roy temporarily had no time to think too deeply. He focused his attention on the old man, who quickly surrendered: "Sir, I am very willing to answer your questions."

It was simply impossible to win. The disparity in power was too great.
