Morning sunlight filtered through the carriage windows as Lin Yuanfeng guided the horses along the winding road. His parents sat quietly beside him, occasionally exchanging words about the new home.
"Fenger… do you think we'll adapt to this new atmosphere?" Yue Lingxin asked softly, brushing a stray lock of hair behind her ear.
Lin Yuanfeng glanced at her with a faint smile. "We'll manage mother. The place is small but secure. And I'll make sure you two are comfortable before we settle in completely."
Lin Changsheng let out a soft chuckle. "You've always been responsible. We'll just follow your lead."
Maybe because of his previous life soul influence the Lin yuanfeng in this life was more mature than the others of his age.
They stopped at a small market along the road. Lin Yuanfeng, carefully observing the stalls, purchased a few sets of clothing for his parents, as well as tier-1 medium grade fresh spirit meat & spirit grains and other essentials for their new home.

Then the Lin family had a simple house warming ceremony and entered the simple manor and while his parents were looking around with the attender explaining them, he asked the maids to help him to organise the things which he bought in their rooms and gave them a spirit stone each.
He waited for his parents in the manor's hall sitting on a chair near a table, the maids are done with their tasks and stood before him respectfully and after sometime his parents also returned
He stood up and welcomed them to sit them at the table and went to talk with the attender
"Does your Jin Shang Hall manage interior construction?"
"Yes, Young Master. You can contact Miss Song for this—she handles the transaction you have in the hall."
"Very well, I shall find her later."
He gives the attender one spirit stone and says "You guys can leave".
The attender gladly accepts it and left with the maids
Lin Yuanfeng walked toward the table. "Is everything to your liking? Do you like the place?"
Lin Changsheng leaned back, his eyes steady, a trace of pride glinting in them. "Fenger, you've done well. A house and courtyard where one can cultivate and live in peace… I can finally relax."
Yue Lingxin's lips curved into a soft, contented smile. "Yes, it's comfortable and peaceful. You've truly taken care of us."
Yuanfeng inclined his head respectfully. "I just wanted a place where you could be at ease. That's all."
His father nodded approvingly, eyes softened yet firm. "Seeing you handle matters with such foresight… it fills me with pride, Fenger. Truly."
"It is what your son should do, Father."
His mother's hand lightly rested on his arm, her gaze warm. "We are at peace, Fenger. That is enough for us."
A calm breeze drifted through the hall as Yuanfeng allowed himself a small, satisfied smile. "Very well. Rest assured, I shall see that nothing disturbs your peace."
"Take some rest. I need to head out for a while to get some seeds. I'll be back soon."
His parents exchanged a look, concern flickering in Lin Changsheng's eyes. "Be careful. This city… it's vast, and you're still new to it."
Lin Yuanfeng smiled faintly. "I know. Don't worry. I'll return safely."
He stepped outside and moved to a deserted corner. Pulling a black robe over his clothes, donning a wide-brimmed straw hat, and covering his face with a cloth, he slipped through the crowded streets of Qing Shui Town like a wandering shadow.
His steps were measured, his senses alert, and he kept close to the crowds. He entered the Information Guild, a place he came to know about during his previous visit.
A lady at the entrance greeted him. "Welcome, esteemed guest. Please follow me."
She guided him to a private counter. Lin Yuanfeng sat, quietly waiting. A few moments later, a female voice echoed from the other side.
"Customer, what do you wish to know?"
Lin Yuanfeng leaned forward slightly. "I need detailed information about the inner area of Qing Shui Town—the major powers, events, and especially general details about buying and selling of plants and medicine by influential families and sects."
There was a brief pause. "That will cost 100 low-grade spirit stones."
Lin Yuanfeng raised an eyebrow. "Isn't this general information? Why is it so expensive?"
The voice responded calmly, "Because knowing which goods are purchased by the powerful is risky. One mistake, and it could cost your life."
He placed the exact amount on the nearby counter tray, retrieving it from his storage pouch.
Ten breaths later, two jade slips were handed to him.
"These are one-time use Spirit Jade," the voice explained. "Once used, they will be destroyed."
Lin Yuanfeng nodded and immediately activated the first jade slip.
Inner Dialogue – Reading the Jade Slip
The first slip shows the general situation… Five foundation establishment families dominate the town: Jin, Mu, Ren, Wen, Kang. The Jin family sits at the centre of Qing Shui Town having 2 foundation establishment peak cultivators. Surrounding lands fall under their influence, but the whole district (including the Qing shui town), equivalent to the size of China, is controlled by the Spirit Sword Sect, a Nascent Soul sect.
The southern region of Qing Shui Town is mountainous, thick with forests inhabited by Yao beasts. The town itself was established by the Spirit Sword Sect to control and cull Yao beast populations.
The family powers in the Qing shui town are subordinate forces of the Spirit Sword sect.
Additionally, three Golden Core sects operate here in this district with Spirit Sword Sect as their Leader, each holding a city under their control to recruit Disciples and to conduct trade: Heavenly Maiden Pavilion, Tyrant Blade Sect, and Beast Taming Sect.
The Spirit Sword Sect maintains three cities of its own.
Two famous trading groups operate here as well—Jin Shang Group for food, medicine and other personal commissions & Wanbao Dian (Myriad Treasures Hall) for artifacts, weapons and tailsmans
There is also Tiandan Dian (Celestial Pill Hall) which involves Pills which are needed by everyone.
Wanbao Dian and Tiandan Dian are rumored to have branches in Tian Zhou Continent, their origins possibly from there.
Tiandan Dian handles alchemist certifications, while Wanbao Dian oversees formation, artifact refining, and talisman making master certifications to prevent scammers but also to have all the masters under their network.
Also these three groups conduct combined Auctions once every two years under the Wanbao Dian banner who are the strongest force in the continent in Ling mu city which is the main city under the Spirit Sword Sect. With a Golden core peak cultivator from each force overseeing it
The second slip reveals goods bought by families and sects, including prices.
After reviewing the information, the jade slips disintegrated as promised.
The female voice spoke again. "Do you need anything else, customer?"
Lin Yuanfeng shook his head. "No, that will be all."
He stood and exited the guild, noticing a man following him. Calmly, he merged with a nearby market crowd and altered his appearance, removing the black robe and face cloth. Within moments, the follower lost him entirely.
He headed towards Tiandan Dian, curious about which herbs they needed and whether they sold seeds. Passing through the streets, he adjusted his robe, blending in with the crowd as he analysed the stores and the flow of people.
These jade slips gave me a clear picture of Qing Shui Town. The information about the Cold Core families, Spirit Sword Sect, and Golden Core sects will help me avoid unnecessary risks. Now, I need to focus on what I can cultivate and sell safely, and which resources are in demand…
His eyes narrowed as he approached the Tiandan Dian, anticipation and strategy running through his mind.
Lin Yuanfeng stood before the grand building of Tiandan Dian, its towering structure exuding a faint mist of spirituality obscuring it structure.
A gentle medicinal fragrance drifted from within—calming, pure, and refreshing. As he inhaled, his meridians faintly stirred, and his body felt inexplicably lighter.
His gaze fell upon the plaque above the entrance.

These calligraphic characters were not merely written — they seemed alive, each stroke carrying an air of authority and elegance. As he looked at them, he felt a subtle pressure on his spirit — not oppressive, but dignified, warning him that this was not a place for idle trifling.
He withdrew his gaze and stepped forward.
The guards by the entrance only glanced at him with black robe gone, his face uncovered—now appearing as nothing more than a youth from the outskirts who had stumbled into the city.
A country bumpkin, perhaps, their eyes seemed to say.
But neither stopped him.
Crossing the threshold, he felt a faint pulse of spiritual energy underfoot - a formation.
An entry-detection formation… so even those who walk in are quietly assessed.
Inside the hall, rows of orderly counters, shelves of neatly sealed medicine boxes, and glass containers holding spiritual herbs glowed faintly with qi light. The air was rich yet tranquil—no rowdiness, no unnecessary noise. Everyone either spoke softly or not at all.
A maid in light-green robes approached, bowing slightly.
"Welcome to Tiandan Dian, honored guest. May I know what you seek?"
Lin Yuanfeng cupped his hands slightly. "Do you have Tier One spiritual plant seeds for sale?"
The maid smiled gently and motioned for him to follow.
At a smaller counter, jade boxes filled with different categorized seeds were displayed. The maid opened one, revealing a row of delicate crystal vials, each holding a few glowing seeds — some earthy brown, some deep green, others exuding faint fragrance.
"Here are Tier One seeds for cultivation use — Qi Nourishing Grass, Spirit Ember Flower, Silver Dew Leaf, Verdant Silk Vine and Green Vein Herb. Each has its primary use, some for pill refinement, some for beast nourishment."
He examined them quietly, his gaze calm but sharp.
Qi Nourishing Grass — Used for qi nourishing pill refinement.
Spirit Ember Flower — used in Spirit Beast Pills.
But no Spirit Rice Seeds… as expected.
He selected two seeds.
The maid nodded. "Qi Nourishing Grass seeds — 5 low-grade spirit stones- 10 seeds per vial. Spirit Ember Flower seeds — 10 low grade spirit stones - 10 seeds per vial"
"Give me 30 seeds each."
The maid smiles and says "That's a total 45 low spirit stones"
He nodded but then asked, "Do you also purchase these plants? If so, at what price?"
The maid blinked, momentarily surprised by the question. "We do, but prices differ based on maturity, purity, and spiritual richness. A mature Qi Nourishing stalk of good grade sells for around 3-5 low grade spirit stones. Spirit Ember Flower, depending on grade, can go from 5 to 10 spirit stones per blossom."
"I see." He paid the stones and gently placed the vials into his storage pouch.
So growing them myself is far more profitable than buying herbs outright.
But the margin only widens if I can improve their quality...
He cupped his hands politely.
"Thank you. That will be all."
The maid bowed with practiced elegance. "Thabk you for your purchase, honored guest."
Lin Yuanfeng turned, stepping out of Tiandan Dian.
His steps were light, but his eyes were thoughtful.
