The governor of Solothu, Selt, was very interested in the changes in the neighboring Vote State, so he secretly led a group to Vote State to see the changes for himself.
Although Celt was disguised as a merchant, they did not have any goods, so the carriage traveled faster and soon encountered a caravan resting by the roadside.
Serti got off the bus and inquired, learning some details about Wotai Prefecture.
Their slogan at the "safe station" they set up at the Solothu State train station was: "If goods are stolen, the state government will provide full compensation."
Because prices were high in Vaudetha, many caravans were willing to take the risk of transporting goods to Vaudetha on a small scale.

The state of Votenay's emphasis on commerce has changed businesspeople's perception of the government. First, there are security teams escorting goods, and once they arrive in Votenay, they are provided with warehouses free of charge.
There were also significant tax benefits, and the first group of caravans all made money.
As more and more caravans transported more and more goods to Wotai City, Wotai Prefecture itself also seemed to be importing large quantities of various kinds of goods.
However, some of their products are from Intis, some from Fenneport, and some from Rune. It's unclear which country Wotai State specifically secured a cooperation opportunity with.
Actually, those were goods that Odis brought from the island of Crus to be sold by the pirates.
Some of those goods were products dumped from various countries of the Northern Continent to the Southern Continent, while others were raw materials transported from the Southern Continent to the Northern Continent.
The raw materials, Odis, were directly sent to the factory for processing, and the finished products were then transported to Remburg for sale.
Because of the large influx of goods into Wotai City, prices here quickly stabilized.
However, merchants could still make money, and commercial activities quickly flourished.
At first, the security team would send thirty soldiers armed with submachine guns to escort them, but the merchants soon discovered that the number of bandits in Wotai Prefecture had decreased rapidly, and recently they had even disappeared completely.
Therefore, the escort team has been reduced from the original thirty people to three or four people.
The caravans heading to Wotai were several times larger than they had been initially.
This prompted Selt, who was also a governor, to remark that it had taken him several years to revive the economy of Solothu, while Odis had achieved the same result in just one month.
Afterwards, Selt found out the details of the investment promotion in Vote State. As long as investors were willing to invest in Vote State, the state government would be responsible for land acquisition and factory construction, and investors would only need to provide capital.
Moreover, the procedures were very simple, with no exploitation by officials or obstruction from local powers. After the factory was built, the state government even helped recruit workers.
As a result, the first batch of small factories invested in Vote State have started construction, while some large factories are still under construction.
Shelter also heard that state government staff actually went out of their way to ask investors if there was anything else they needed help with.
The meals served to state government staff don't need to be fancy; normal food will suffice.
This left Selt somewhat incredulous; could there really be officials and staff like this in the world?
The governor of Solothu then recalled his conversation with Odis on the train, during which Odis said he would reorganize the ranks of officials.
At the time, Selt didn't take it too seriously because he thought it was an impossible task.
But now, faced with the facts, Celt remained silent for a good ten seconds before saying to his subordinates, "Go to Wotai City as quickly as possible."
So they traveled through the night and finally arrived in Wotai City the next morning.
Outside the city, Celt had the coachman stop the carriage by the roadside. He quickly climbed up the mountain and saw that the downwind side of the entire city of Wotai was a huge construction site!
Large factories are under construction, and as the merchants in the caravan said, some smaller factories have already started production.
Not far from these new buildings, a train building has already taken shape, and a large section of the railway has already been laid.
Selt roughly calculated that there were at least 30,000 to 40,000 workers on so many construction sites. He even suspected that Odis had captured the bandits to do construction work, which was why the banditry had completely disappeared.
But he felt that was unlikely, because even if that were the case, there would still be robbers.
So Selt went to a village not far away and, under the pretext of taking a short rest, chatted with a few old men at the entrance of the village who were doing some handicrafts while chatting.
They soon started talking about the governor's anti-bandit campaign, and Selt learned of a concept that felt both familiar and unfamiliar to him: the ten-household system.
The general idea is that every ten households form a small team, and if a robber appears in one of the households, all ten households will be arrested and forced to work on the railway.
At first, the villagers didn't take it too seriously. They continued to farm during the day and develop some "side jobs" at night or during the off-season.
However, the police quickly tracked down a group of criminals and found that they belonged to six different squads.
The state government showed no mercy, arresting all members of the involved team, regardless of age, and taking them to the railroad construction site.
Soon, the news spread throughout Wotai Prefecture, and many villagers witnessed the scene of being escorted to the construction site.
Upon hearing this, Selt guessed that the state government of Wotai must have played a role in the rapid spread of the news. Furthermore, he suspected that the prisoners heading to the construction site had likely been transported throughout the entire state.
After that, many people dared not be criminals anymore, and the police began patrolling the entire state, arresting large numbers of criminals whenever they encountered them.
After only four or five arrests, the ten households in a small team began to monitor each other. If anyone in a family went to commit robbery again, they would simply knock them unconscious and carry them back.
So in just over half a month, not a single robber could be seen in the entire Wotai State.
When Selt heard this, he was completely shocked.
He had heard of a similar "collective punishment system" in the Southern Continent, but that was a way of exploiting the locals and could easily provoke resistance from the natives.
Although the colonial army could easily suppress the resistance, this would worsen the local security situation, a stark contrast to the situation in Vauta.
Continuing the conversation, Selt found the reason why Vouttia was gradually stabilizing: the state government was also providing a large number of job opportunities.
It is said that more than 30,000 people were recruited to build the railway. The railway was built in sections, with several construction sites working at the same time, which is why so many people were needed.
The factory construction has hired another 10,000 to 20,000 people. Now, in most families throughout Wotai State, one member is working.
The state government presented people with two options: either earn a salary and have food and lodging provided on the construction site, or work as a construction worker.
They'll either be arrested and forced to do unpaid labor.
These two options are not difficult to choose between.
With so many job opportunities and prices dropping to an acceptable level, the security situation in Vientiane improved dramatically.
At this point, Celt was already somewhat impressed by Odis; the mobilization of so many people had been accomplished so seemingly easily.
After a moment's thought, Selt realized that in addition to Governor Odis's sound policies, effective implementation was also crucial.
Execution is inseparable from officials and civil servants. Celt was still very curious about how Odis had managed to cultivate so many seemingly eccentric officials in such a short period of time.
So Celt said goodbye to the old men, got into a carriage and went into town, where he arrived at the Wotai General Store and met the owner, Connery.
This was an intelligence station set up by Celt, which was responsible for collecting intelligence about the State of Wotai before Odis arrived.
Connally was also quite surprised, not expecting Governor Celt to arrive so suddenly, and hurriedly ushered the group inside.
Upon arriving at Connolly's office, Selt first commended Connolly for his work over the past few years before asking the question that had been troubling him: "Since Governor Odis took office, has he made numerous appointments and dismissals of officials and recruited many new staff?"
"Yes," Connally replied, "the state government and all its officials and most of its staff have been laid off over the past two months."
Selt then asked, "Where did Odis recruit so many new officials and staff?"
"Most of them were recruited from Wotai City."
What jobs did these people do before?
Connery replied, "Most of them are refugees."
"Refugees?" This answer surprised Celt.
The so-called refugees were ordinary people who had lost their land and property due to previous banditry and were forced to wander in the city.
How did Odis manage to enable a group of ordinary people to achieve such high efficiency in such a short time?
The ensuing series of questions and answers allowed Selt to learn the truth of the whole matter.
After Odis arrived in Wotai and took real control of the city, he recruited the first members of the security force from among the refugees.
Compared to the previous security team members, the homeless people cherished this job opportunity more. Moreover, they had once been at the bottom of the city and knew very well how difficult life was for ordinary people, so most of them were very competent.
Of course, many people who suddenly became members of the security team began to vent their dissatisfaction and take revenge on the residents who had bullied them.
This was essentially a screening, and the governor dismissed many people, including former sheriffs.
The remaining group will serve as a reference for the large-scale recruitment that will begin later.
Before Captain Odis took office, Connery had helped several homeless families, one of whom met the new governor's requirements and is now the new director of the Bureau of Industry.
Connery learned a lot of inside information from him. While Captain Lonzel was going out of town to suppress bandits, the state government began a large-scale recruitment drive.
The task was overseen by Ms. Mandy, the governor's assistant, who brought a large team to complete the recruitment and training.
The training process was also unheard of. After passing the most basic assessment, people were given a lot of knowledge that they found unfamiliar, simply by putting on a helmet.
The so-called training is simply teaching them how to utilize that new knowledge.
After just ten days of training, they clearly understood their purpose and responsibilities, as well as how to carry out their work.
After these people were added to the state government, the state government became much more efficient.
As a result, the governor laid off a large number of the original officials and staff.
At the time, many people were prepared to see the governor make a fool of himself, believing that these newcomers would definitely mess up the job.
Surprisingly, they were very efficient and quickly organized a large workforce to start building the railway, and also attracted many businessmen to start building factories.
It seemed like everyone suddenly had a job, and no one could still smile at that moment; everyone was filled with respect and admiration for the new governor.
Everyone now says that the new governor is favored by the "god of knowledge and wisdom," and that he must have mastered a way to enable many people to quickly acquire advanced knowledge.
Of course, some people say that the new governor has adopted some methods that only evil gods would use, and that there are huge hidden dangers behind this practice of quickly giving people knowledge.
There are various opinions circulating, but neither the state government nor the governor himself has offered any explanation or comment.
After remaining silent for a good ten seconds, Selt suddenly said, "I want to see Governor Odis."
The accompanying secretary immediately said, "I'll arrange it right away."
"No, we'll go back to Solothu, issue the official written document, and then come back." Celt said decisively as he stood up and walked out.
They returned to Solothu State as quickly as possible and then began the procedures.
For the governors of two states to formally meet, there must be two procedures: an intention to meet and an invitation. The meeting process must also be documented. This is what is known as the procedure.
Five days later, Celt returned to Wotai City with his guards. Captain Longzel greeted him outside the city, while Odis greeted him at the entrance of the government office.
Odis treated this governor, who had provided assistance and with whom he shared many common ideals, with the highest honors due to a peer.
After holding public talks and attending some events, the two governors visited a construction site in western Wotai City, where they strolled and chatted.
Selt noticed that the construction site was busy but orderly, and the location of the factory, the direction of the roads, and so on had been planned in advance.
So although the construction site looks messy, it is actually quite orderly.
Looking at the factory buildings, which were even taller than they had been five days ago, Selt remarked, "I never imagined that Wotai State would regain its vitality so quickly."
Odis smiled and said, "This state has always been very dynamic, but it has used that energy in the wrong direction before."
Selte nodded and then said, "Do you remember the cooperation I proposed before? As long as you have the capacity, we can cooperate and try to solve the problems in the State of Shattrah."
The situation in the Chatyr region is similar to that in the Vote region. Several bandit groups have been supported by foreign forces, and the region is no longer under the control of Remberg.
Odis said, "At the time, I wondered if, in the eyes of Duke Bowen and the high-ranking officials of Bitchell, our actions might seem like acting on our own initiative?"
"No." Celt stopped in his tracks. "Last year, I received the approval of Duke Bowen and other high-ranking officials. As long as we have enough strength, we can try to retake the State of Shattel."
He shrugged and said, "For them, as long as we take some action, it will be better than the current situation."
Odis hummed in agreement: "Then I suggest that I take charge of the western part of Shatai Prefecture, and you take charge of the eastern part."
Selt was taken aback: "Aren't we going to act together?"
Odis smiled and said, "If we act together, there will be a question of priority. For example, if the people we send out encounter problems they can't solve, should they listen to me or you?"
This will create a lot of rift between the two sides, and the cooperation will most likely end in the end.
Selt suddenly said, "Your opinion can be the primary consideration."
Odis was taken aback. He had previously thought that Celt was a very powerful governor, but he did not expect that the other party would so easily hand over the initiative of the operation.
Seeing Odis's expression, Celt smiled and said, "I hope to use this operation to learn about the training and management methods for officials in Wotai State."
"Therefore, you can directly command this operation, and you can also keep most of the results."
Odis thought for a moment before saying, "No problem."
However, the specific action plan still needs further consultation.
The two then naturally began to talk about Odis's recruitment and training of officials and staff in Wotai State. Selt frankly admitted that he had heard some inside information from Wotai General Store.
Finally, the two got to the most important part: training. Selt asked, "I heard that you've been using some special methods to train qualified staff in a very short time?"
"There's nothing to hide," Odis smiled. "Since we live in a world with extraordinary powers, why can't we use those powers to achieve our goals as quickly as possible?"
Selt then asked, "Are there any side effects?"
"I have used this technology to complete several knowledge transfers of different content," Odis explained. "So far, the side effects are minimal. The headaches I experienced basically disappeared within two weeks, and the knowledge I gained was gradually absorbed into my work."
Selt then asked, "After using this technology, how much autonomy do they still have?"
In his view, this method is more suited to the use of evil gods, because learning and using knowledge is a gradual process.
Suddenly acquiring a lot of unfamiliar knowledge will definitely have a huge impact on a person's cognition and thinking, and may even cause them to lose themselves.
Odis smiled and said, "I know what you're worried about. Unless knowledge is continuously instilled, their own consciousness is relatively complete."
He paused for a moment and then said, "In fact, when everyone learns new knowledge, their thinking and cognition will be affected to some extent by this knowledge. Otherwise, the knowledge learned will definitely be some unimportant knowledge."
"Moreover, while extraordinary abilities are useful, they are not everything. During the training process, we will observe those who are more in line with our values and give them important responsibilities."
"Others will also gravitate towards these people when they see them being given important positions."
"You see, it's relatively easy for people's thoughts to be unified."
These words caused Selt to fall into deep thought after a brief moment of surprise. Ten seconds later, he breathed a sigh of relief and got to the point: "If I want to introduce this training institution..."
"Just pay up," Odis said with a smile. "There are no other requirements."
"That's good." Selt glanced at his subordinates behind him and said to them, "I need to have a private talk with Governor Odis. You can follow me later."
Odis waved to his subordinates, signaling them to wait there.
Everyone assumed the two governors would negotiate privately, so they went to the shade of the trees to smoke or chat.
After Odis and Celt walked a distance together, Celt said, "I have received news that the Lenburg government is secretly sending people to Wotai State."
Odis simply nodded and smiled in thanks, as his intelligence network in Azshara had also received the news.
Clearly, the Remburg government has taken notice of what is happening in the Vote region. In order to prevent the newly recaptured Vote region from becoming "Vote of Odis", they need to investigate whether the Remburg government needs to take over the region.
Seeing Odis's expression, Celt knew that Odis already had a strategy, so he didn't continue the conversation. Instead, he suddenly asked, "What are your thoughts on the current situation?"
Odis was taken aback. The last person to ask this question was a member of the "Twilight Hermits".
However, based on his observation, Selt was not a member of the "Twilight Hermits," so his question was probably meant to start a new topic.
So he gave a vague answer: "The world situation will become increasingly tense."
Selt then asked, "How should Remenberg position itself in the face of this increasingly tense situation?"
Odis smiled and said, "I haven't thought about that."
"Based on my observations, your current approach will bring many positive changes to Remenberg," Selt said. "You must also have ideas in mind to change some of Remenberg's problems, right?"
Odis glanced at the serious-looking Selt and suddenly realized that the governor in front of him should be considered a reformist, or rather a radical, in Remburg.
Currently, most countries in the North Continent have completed industrialization, and each country has both conservatives and radicals.
The latest novels are first published on 69shuba!
However, in small countries like Remnburg, the conservatives' power cannot be shaken in a short period of time, and the radicals have not yet formed a political force that is on par with the conservatives, like the radicals in Ruen.
However, many nobles in Remnantburg should have realized that the nobility needs to make certain changes in order to adapt to the future situation.
Odis recalled Celt's resume; he must have been one of the Remnburg nobles who wanted to do something for the country.
After all, given the power of Celt's family, he had no need to become the governor of a chaotic and impoverished state like the Western Province. It would have been easier and more promising for him to take an official position in Azshara.
In an instant, Odis understood all of this, and then said seriously, "I said before on the train that all current political systems have flaws."
"Such drawbacks cannot be completely solved. Often, as soon as a problem is solved, new problems will appear, and these problems may be even more difficult to solve."
Selt felt that Odis had answered his question seriously, yet also seemed not to have answered it seriously. He smiled and said somewhat helplessly, "You don't need to be so wary of me."
He took out his cigarette case and offered it to Odis. After Odis waved his hand, he took out a cigarette, lit it, and said, "I'm not one of those old fogies like Azshara."
Selt took a drag of his cigarette and said, "Sincerity is the best medicine to dispel doubts. I will show you even more sincerity."
"A group of Remberg residents hoped to form a Progress Party and request the King to remove the position of Minister of State Affairs and appoint a President or Prime Minister to handle state affairs."
At this time, the four major countries of the Northern Continent had basically completed the government reform that separated royal power from political power. The royal family became the symbol of the country, the king became the nominal head of state, and most of the military power was still in the hands of the royal family.
Government affairs are handled by the government headed by the president, prime minister or prime minister, and the parliament headed by the speaker.
This essentially solved the problems of corruption and incompetence among members of the royal family, and the chaotic handling of government affairs.
In smaller countries like Rembrandt, the conservative faction remains powerful, and the king is not only the head of state but can also arbitrarily interfere in government affairs.
Almost all important positions in the country are held by members of the royal family.
This created a very oppressive political atmosphere in Remnantburg, and even Azshara seemed to have lost all vitality.
The king believed that Celt's demands, or rather Celt's demands, were indeed radical.
Odis did not respond after hearing Celt's words.
Selt continued, "We must do something to make Lenburg stronger than it is now, lest it be dragged into an endless abyss by the great powers."
"Your idea is admirable," Odis finally said, "but I cannot make any statement."
Selt was taken aback: "Why?"
Odis offered an unassailable excuse: "It was Archbishop Douglas who recommended me to take the governor's exam."
Actually, Odis didn't want to get involved in Remenberg's internal affairs. In his view, the progressive party like Selt didn't seem to have made much progress.
He only wants a place where he can develop his power peacefully and steadily, and he currently has no interest in the political situation in Rembrandt.
Upon hearing Odis's answer, Celt was stunned again. He hadn't expected the rumors to be true, and that Odis had actually served the church.
In that case, it would indeed be impossible to continue trying to win over Odis, because in such matters the church usually plays a neutral role and does not join either side.
However, he didn't give up: "Would it be alright if I wanted you to provide assistance behind the scenes?"
Odis thought for a moment before asking, "For example, in what areas would the help be?"
"Provide some weapons and training," Selt said. "And some protection in critical situations."
Odis agreed: "That's fine, but you'll need to pay me a certain fee. It's a deal."
Celt believed that Odis was trying to shirk responsibility, and he felt that the result was acceptable, so he did not make any further demands.
The two chatted for a few more minutes before ending their conversation.
Over the next two days, Odis held grand banquets to welcome Governor Celt and his entourage, and to bid them farewell.
After they left Wotai City, Odis discussed with Bernadette the matter of hunting the "Flowerbird Phantom Hidden-tailed Cockroach".
They were supposed to set off two days ago, but Celt's arrival disrupted Odis's plans.
The situation in Vientiane is improving at a visible pace, and it even seems to be more prosperous than before the banditry became severe.
Everyone in Vortad felt the enormous changes that came with the arrival of the new governor, while Odis rarely appeared in public, making him even more mysterious.
So, once everyone felt the benefits and impact brought by the new governor, Odis's potion was further digested, and it was only a little bit away from being completely digested.
However, there was still no news about the "wings of the Flower-Bird Phantom Cockroach", so Odis finally decided to go and hunt the "Flower-Bird Phantom Cockroach".
With Bernadette's help, the hunt would not be dangerous.
After discussing it, Bernadette summoned a pumpkin-shaped carriage and entered the spirit world, heading towards the depths of the Misty Sea.
Bernadette felt no pressure about the hunt.
The reason they needed to discuss it was mainly because there seemed to be a huge underground ruin on the island. Bernadette had only explored it briefly before, and she planned to use this hunt to explore it further.
Before the operation, Bernadette had made a "prophecy" that the operation would go smoothly and would not be too dangerous.
The carriage traveled through the spirit world for five or six minutes, and a hazy mist began to appear in the spirit world.
Bernadette said, "Deep in the Misty Sea, the fog on the sea also affects the spirit world."
"No one knows where those thick fogs come from, or why they affect the spirit world."
Odis thought to himself: Actually, I knew it. This thick fog came from the seal that the "Celestial Venerable" placed on the Western Continent. As for why there was such a reaction, it's because the "Celestial Venerable" is the "Ruler of the Spirit Realm," so His seal would definitely affect the Spirit Realm.
Just then, Odis's spirituality was suddenly stirred. Out of the corner of his eye, he seemed to see a creature wearing a hat and with a long human face in the spirit world outside the carriage.
But when he turned his head to look, he only saw a gray fog.
Odis frowned slightly, but did not reveal his discovery.
The carriage traveled for another ten seconds or so, and suddenly the colors around them became richer; they had entered the real world.
At that moment, lightning flashed and thunder roared across the sea, accompanied by a violent storm.
As the carriage flew over the surging waves, Odis, through the dim light, saw a huge island not far away.
After just one glance, Odis felt that this island gave off a different vibe.
After a moment's thought, he quickly realized that this sea area was too far from the northern and southern continents, and the plants there were already somewhat different from those on the northern and southern continents.
Just like the flora and fauna of Australia, which are somewhat different from those of other continents.
To be precise, Odis felt that she and Bernadette were currently somewhere in Oceania.
However, he was also unsure where the seal set by the "Celestial Venerable" was located, whether it encompassed most of the islands in the Pacific Ocean, or whether many of these islands had already sunk.
However, it is certain that during the Age of Exploration, many people explored the Misty Sea, but human civilization was only discovered in the eastern part of the Misty Sea.
Although many unfamiliar islands were discovered in the western part of the Misty Sea, no humans were found.
Because few people venture here, the island is home to many extraordinary creatures.
Bernadette found many extraordinary materials here for the "Spy" pathway, including the "Phantom Cockroach" that she was going to hunt today.
The carriage floated in mid-air and moved quickly, soon landing on the huge island.
Bernadette continued in her pumpkin-shaped carriage, moving forward through the storm into the heart of the island.
Odis noticed that the flora and fauna here were indeed quite different from those of the northern and southern continents, and it even felt like he had arrived on an alien planet.
The only familiar thing here is probably the terrain.
The carriage sped along, passing through a valley and arriving at a vast basin.
Generally speaking, basins should be places with lush vegetation, but this basin is rather desolate, with only some weeds, and occasionally a fast-running animal or a lonely tree.
When the carriage came to a huge rock, Bernadette raised her hand, and the carriage stopped. She said, "It's here."
Odis looked out the car window but saw nothing unusual.
Bernadette then opened the car door, and a dense rain fell, but not a single drop hit her.
Odis also got out of the carriage, and no raindrops fell on him.
Although he had no clue about the hunt, he didn't ask any questions and just followed quietly.
Bernadette arrived in front of the boulder, casually waved her hand, and the boulder immediately levitated and flew into the distance.
Beneath the boulder, a small cave was revealed.
Odis was stunned when he looked into the cave, because there was a Gothic building at the entrance.
However, compared to buildings in the human world, this building is a miniature version, only a little over half a meter tall, but it still exudes the oppressive feeling of Gothic architecture.
The sudden disappearance of the boulder and the "attack" of raindrops seemed to have startled the owner of the building, and many ants about the length of an index finger crawled out from inside.
They quickly formed an attack formation towards Odis and Bernadette. Bernadette lightly lifted her foot, and a stream of water flowed in from somewhere, pouring into the cave.
The ants that were about to attack were also swept into the water.
Bernadette did not take any further action, but instead carefully observed her surroundings.
Odis knew very well that as a "master of prophecy," Bernadette could absolutely suppress the "flower-phoenix-like veiled cockroach."
A few seconds later, Bernadette grabbed Odis's arm and "teleported" to roughly the center of the basin.
Bernadette raised her hand slightly, and a pea suddenly sprouted from the soil.
The pea plant grew thicker and taller, as if it could pierce the sky if left unchecked.
Each pea shoot and leaf brings up a rock and a handful of soil from the ground.
Suddenly, an insect the length of an arm emerged from the rapidly growing peas and landed on the ground.
It seemed it didn't want to come out, but it got tangled in the pea vines and was forcibly dragged out.
This giant insect has a rounded body covered with colorful runes that are constantly changing shape.
Odis felt dizzy after just one glance.
It had two pairs of equally colorful wings on its back and a pair of human-like eyes on its head, a structure that made Odis feel very uncomfortable.
At this moment, fear was evident in those eyes, and the entire round insect body was trembling violently.
Unlike the "Death" pathway, which allows for absolute suppression of lower sequences by higher sequences, the "Secret Seeker" pathway's extraordinary individuals do not exhibit this.
However, these extraordinary creatures are extremely sensitive to the suppression of high sequences.
Upon seeing Bernadette, the "Floater Phantom Cockroach" was practically unable to move. It seemed to have mustered the courage to use its ability to make its body ethereal.
But Bernadette immediately "recreated" an old spinning machine, its beautiful maracas flashing with an eerie light, and the "flower-bird phantom burrowing cockroach" immediately fell into a deep sleep.
Bernadette produced a pair of golden scissors in her hand, and with a swift movement, cut off the head of the large worm.
The small head began to harden, deform, and change color the moment it was separated from the body, eventually turning into a small polygonal crystal.
Bernadette then quickly cut off the two pairs of wings, and with a wave of her hand, one pair of wings and the crystal flew toward Odis.
Having done all this, Bernadette took a step back, and a strange mouth suddenly appeared from the illusion, swallowing the insect's corpse whole.
That was a creature that had made a pact with Bernadette; it was helping Bernadette store these spiritual materials.
Odis also put away the crystal and wings of the Flower-Bird Phantom Hidden-Tailed Cockroach, and he exclaimed, "That was so easy."
He and "Iceberg General" had put in quite a bit of effort when they were hunting "Psychedelic Red Coral" before.
Bernadette smiled and said, "If you were to hunt it yourself, you would probably have a hard time being a match for it."
Odis nodded. That was true. Just seeing the patterns on the Flower-Sparrow Phantom Hidden-Tailed Cockroach made him dizzy. If a battle really broke out, he might only be able to put up a fight by using his high-level scrolls and level 1 sealed artifacts.
Then, as planned, they arrived at a ruin that had been severely collapsed.
The architectural style of this site is completely unrecognizable, and even the layout of the buildings is no longer discernible, as all that remains is a chaotic mess.
The reason we are certain that this is a relic is because these piles of ruins are clearly not naturally formed, and what is very strange is that no vegetation has grown on the ruins.
It is strange in itself that no vegetation grows on a tropical island.
Bernadette explained, "There is a tunnel underground that has collapsed severely, and there is a considerable space at the bottom of the tunnel."
"Although there was no obvious danger there, it always made me feel very uncomfortable."
This is why she stopped exploring last time.
Bernadette paused for a moment and then said, "Also, there are some strange words on the wall below. You can try to decipher them."
Odis agreed, "Okay."
Bernadette then used her ability once again, and the two of them instantly appeared deep underground.
Using the dim light in the darkness, Odis saw that there was a spacious hall and a long corridor. On one wall of the hall, there were familiar yet unfamiliar letters.
Some of the letters were larger than the others, and Odis was stunned at first glance because they were actually the English word: dangerous.
Danger!
