Odis never expected that simply being Audrey's tour guide for a day would lead to two battles at the demigod level.
I should try to take on fewer jobs like this in the future.
Audrey smiled and said, "You've also acquired quite a few spoils of war. That's a good thing, isn't it? Where else would you find these demigods normally?"
Odis was slightly taken aback, but upon thinking about it from a different perspective, he realized that it was indeed true!
Then he twitched the corner of his mouth: The audience is terrifying!
Audrey took off the "Travel Ring" and reluctantly handed it to Odis: "'Hermit', do you intend to sell these three magical items?"
"There are no such plans at the moment," Odis said.
Although he no longer needs it, he has used it for so long that he doesn't plan to sell it unless he is really short of money.
Audrey then asked, "What about renting? Is renting possible?"
Odis smiled and said, "Renting is an option."
Audrey breathed a sigh of relief; if she needed it in the future, she could rent it from "The Hermit."
Finally, she took out the extraordinary ability: "I know very well that this is Captain Simone's way of thanking you, so I can't accept this ability."
Odis smiled and said, "Take it. This is a perk that we, as fellow members of the Tarot Club, can enjoy."
He didn't really need the "corpse collector" pathway's characteristics; he could just use it to make magical items anyway. Besides, he didn't lack Sequence 5 magical items right now, so he might as well be generous and give it to Audrey directly.
After thanking her, Audrey added, "I would like to commission you to turn it into a magical item."
"Sure," Odis smiled. "I'll give you a 'member's rate' for the labor cost: 600 pounds."
If it's made into a magical item, then he'll definitely keep the characteristics from sequence 9 to sequence 6.
"No problem." Audrey smiled. She hadn't expected that she would get a magical item of Sequence 5 level from this operation.
However, Audrey knew very well that she owed this achievement to Odis.
Audrey then asked, "Is there something special about Mr. Leonard?"
Odis hummed in agreement, but offered no further explanation, so Audrey didn't ask any more questions.
After chatting for a while, Odis escorted Audrey back to her room, and then returned to the embassy himself. In his room, he entered the "Wilderness of Knowledge" to examine his spoils.
Today's spoils mainly consist of what I reaped this morning: a "Prophet's" extraordinary attribute and a few pearls.
The extraordinary properties were crushed first, and as for those pearls, they were equivalent to extraordinary materials at the demigod level.
Actually, the eyes on the seashells were also made of extraordinary materials, but they were so disgusting that Odis didn't collect them.
Odis studied them and found that these pearls could be used to make "illusion" scrolls, and if the pearls were ground into powder, they could also be used as special materials when using "mystical reappearance".
Odis conceived of two "reproduction" abilities based on this, namely "mirage" and "ghost market," and these abilities could be enhanced if these pearl powders were available.
After studying for a while, Odis returned to the real world to rest, while considering whether to give the "prophet" attribute to "Iceberg General" Edwina.
Odis doesn't have any subordinates with this ability, and he doesn't have the means to create magical items at the demigod level for the time being. Since it's just sitting there anyway, he might as well take it out and put it to good use.
After thinking about it for a moment, he decided to see what price Edwina was willing to offer, and at the same time, whether she would agree to his additional conditions.
Friends are friends, but something of this demigod level can't be given away for free.
But not today. After lying down, Odis didn't want to get up again. She would write the letter tomorrow.
The following morning, after writing a letter to Edwina, Odis received another letter, delivered by a messenger from "General of Illness" Tracy.
Odis opened it, glanced at it briefly, and couldn't help but smile.
The letter said that an unexpected event had occurred, and the original plan would be delayed by a week.
Odis is now certain that the "ferryman" who cooperated with the witch cult was the priest named Bradrick.
It's unclear whether it was Bolton's death or the destruction of the sacrificed coastal city that affected Bradrick, thus impacting their plans.
Let it be postponed; this will give Odis more time to ambush the demigods of the "Rose School".
The information Audrey provided at the ball reminded Odis that two demigods from the "Rose School" would be infiltrating Backlund to steal the mummies the military had brought back from the Southern Continent.
Odis had little interest in the mummy, but he was very interested in the two demigods. He planned to join forces with Bernadette and at least capture one of her demigods.
However, this action will take place tomorrow. Odis has nothing to do today, so in the afternoon, he declined all visitors under the pretext of taking a lunch break and prepared to attend the Tarot meeting.
Around 2 p.m., Odis lay in his armchair, contemplating the issue of promotion.
Bernadette provided him with one piece of supplementary material, and he still needed to observe and prepare another piece of supplementary material himself. He was still missing one piece of supplementary material, and today he planned to try his luck at the Tarot meeting.
Odis also knew that this level of auxiliary materials was unlikely to be available in the Tarot Club, but other members had their own channels, so maybe their channels had them?
If not, Odis had two plans: one was to ask the messenger if she had any relevant clues, and the other was to pray to the "Goddess of Night" to see if she had any.
As he pondered, the clock hand pointed to the number 3. Suddenly, Odis's vision was obscured by a gray mist, and in the blink of an eye, he appeared in the magnificent hall, on one side of a long bronze table.
As usual, "Justice" Audrey lifted her skirt slightly and said, "Good afternoon, Mr. 'Fool'~"
"The Fool" Klein nodded slightly in response.
After the greetings, just as the "Priestess" Cattleya was about to speak, she saw Mr. Fool tap the edge of the bronze table twice.
The dull thud immediately put the Tarot Club members on edge, wondering what the Fool would say next.
But it's definitely a big deal!
What Mr. Fool emphasized at the outset must be a major event!
Even the "Hermit" Odis straightened his back and seriously recalled what major events had recently occurred.
Klein looked around before smiling and said, "Amon recently arrived in Backlund, an avatar."
Amon? "The Blasphemer" Amon?
"The Sun" Derrick was suddenly reminded of some unpleasant memories.
Whether it's Amon, who parasitizes the former exploration team leader and asks him from behind, "Are you looking for me?", or Amon, who coils around his spirit like a snake and wears a pointed soft hat, they are both nightmares he can't shake off.
Having learned about the "Sun's" experiences at a previous gathering, Cattleya wondered why the "King of Angels" had suddenly appeared on the Northern Continent.
This made her feel uneasy, so she turned to look at the "hermit". She had thought that it would be a little awkward to meet the "hermit" again after the three of them had dinner together in the cabin last time.
It was indeed a bit awkward, but upon hearing this shocking news, she immediately looked at Odis, hoping he would remain as composed as usual.
In that case, Cattleya would immediately feel at ease, but she noticed that the "Hermit's" expression was not surprised, nor was it as composed as usual; instead, it was somewhat strange.
Odis was both amused and exasperated: How could you possibly pull that off!
Then he realized: I had completely forgotten about Amon's clone in Backlund if you hadn't reminded me. I should stay home as much as possible lately, or better yet, not go out at all.
Audrey glanced with some concern at the bewildered and fearful "Magician" and "Moon," then looked towards the head of the bronze table: "Honorable 'Fool,' may I find a way to inform the church about this?"
Klein said calmly, "Ignore Him."
He had thought about this question long ago. As the nominal master of "Above the Gray Fog" and the initiator of the Tarot Club, he himself had the highest probability of encountering Amon.
The other members of the Tarot Club, under the protection of "Above the Gray Fog" as long as nothing happens, will not encounter Amon unless they are extremely unlucky.
However, if the church is informed, their investigation will certainly alarm Amon, who may then follow this lead to the whistleblower.
So Klein just wanted to remind everyone that he himself is currently making active preparations to temporarily hide in the Southern Continent for a while.
Ignore Him?
Alger, the "Hanged Man," felt a mixture of awe and bewilderment as he wondered: In Mr. Fool's eyes, only Sequence 0 true gods were worthy of serious consideration? Indeed, when the "Sun" was possessed by an avatar of Amon, Mr. Fool easily purified it. As long as it wasn't Amon's true form, it wouldn't pose any major problems for Him.
Audrey understood that "it's just a small matter" and felt much more at ease.
Odis continued to think to himself: As if you can control me.
He had made up his mind not to observe the people Hugh had provided, and to return to Azshara when he had time to find a few more subjects to observe.
Although Odis and Amon are not on adjacent paths, nor is Odis Amon's primary target, Odis is a member of the Tarot Club, and there may be chance encounters between them at certain times.
Ah Meng isn't a beautiful and gentle girl, so it's best to avoid her if possible.
Fors, the "magician" who had once encountered the "traveler" traitor from the Abraham family, was not comforted, because she knew very well that sometimes the "law of convergence of extraordinary characteristics" could create some wonderful encounters.
The "apprentice" and "thief" paths are adjacent, and it's possible that staying at home and never leaving the house will prevent any danger.
Fors took a silent breath and asked with some concern, "Respected 'Fool', what is the purpose of Amon sending his clone to Backlund?"
Klein carefully considered his words, a smile playing on his lips, and looked around before saying, "Looking for you."
Looking for us?
These words struck like lightning, jolting "The Magician" Fors and the others awake and sending chills down their spines.
But soon, the members of Backlund breathed a sigh of relief, because Mr. Fool had said earlier, "Don't worry about Him."
In other words, the protection provided by Mr. Fool made it impossible for Amon's clones to find them.
Only Odis remained expressionless: This is going too far, pretending to do the same thing three times!
The other members also had their own interpretations based on Mr. Fool's answer, and for a moment the hall fell silent.
After a long pause, Cattleya turned to the head of the bronze table and said, "Respected Mr. 'Fool,' this time there are three pages of the diary."
Klein thought to himself, "The 'Mysterious Queen' is finally back online."
For several weeks prior, no diary entries from the "mysterious queen" had appeared.
He smiled and said, "Very good."
With permission, the "priestess" Cattleya materialized her diary, which then appeared in the palm of the "Fool".
After reading two lines, Klein discovered that these were all early entries in Roselle's diary. The first two pages recorded his travels through the Fussac Empire and how he learned about the legend of the "homeland of giants" while talking with a Fussac man.
The last page of the diary records Roselle's experience traveling to the island of Sonia, where he was surprised to find that "Elven King" Sonia Solem had invented chopsticks and that the elves ate "blood tofu"!
This led the emperor to believe that the "Elf King" was a time traveler, but because he couldn't find any Chinese characters or similar elements, he wasn't sure.
At the end of his diary, Russell wrote that chopsticks and blood curd made him miss his hometown.
When he saw the word "hometown," Klein couldn't help but repeat it in his mind, and his eyes even became a little hot.
He finally understood why the "mysterious queen" Bernadette had chosen these three pages of her diary: they contained a protective symbol left to her by her father: "Homeland."
After calming himself down, Klein looked at the "priestess": "What is your question?"
Cattleya spoke respectfully, "Respected Mr. 'Fool,' I would like to know the meaning of these two symbols."
Immediately, she conjured up the two Chinese characters for "hometown".
Odis, who was on the other side, was also somewhat moved when he saw these two words.
Several years have passed since he came into this world, and he has often forgotten that he does not actually belong to this world.
While feeling sentimental, Odis also realized that deep down, he had always reserved a place for his "hometown".
It's just that we don't notice it under normal circumstances.
Finally, he remembered that he should find some time to have a drink with Klein. Although he couldn't be too explicit right now, Klein was one of the few fellow countrymen in the world.
Upon hearing the question about the "priestess," Klein thought to himself, "Just as I expected."
He explained, "The two symbols together mean home, a place where the heart and spirit find refuge."
Cattleya remembered it well and sincerely thanked Mr. Fool.
Then, "The Fool" Klein said, "It's your turn."
Odis composed herself and was about to speak when "The Sun" Derrick spoke first: "I need a potion recipe of Sequence 5 of the 'Sun' pathway."
Having absorbed much of the "Sun Priest's" potion, Derrick began preparing for his next promotion.
Alger, the "Hanged Man," was wondering if he could obtain a formula of this caliber through internal church channels.
The world, however, replied in a low voice, "I have it."
Derrick immediately asked, "Mr. 'World,' what do you hope to receive?"
Klein manipulated "The World" and glanced at "The Hermit" out of the corner of his eye: "Gold Pound."
So Derrick said to the Hermit, "Mr. Hermit, may I exchange some extraordinary materials for gold pounds from you?"
Odis nodded: "Okay."
He asked "World," "What's your asking price?"
"5,000 pounds."
"Alright, I'll pay for 'The Sun'." Odis turned to Derrick and said, "Pay me the extraordinary materials worth 5,000 pounds, according to the price we agreed on earlier."
"In addition, if some materials of Sequence 7 level are added appropriately, the price will be reduced to 300 pounds."
The so-called "price they agreed on" was basically half the market price. The materials for Sequence 7 cost between £600 and £800 in Loen, and the discount offered by Odis was also half the market price.
It's not that Odis is too greedy, but rather that some materials obtained through certain channels are only worth one-tenth of their market price in Silver City.
The extraordinary materials available to Silver City through means such as "warriors," "spectators," and "mystic initiators" are worth about the same as the market price in Backlund.
The extraordinary materials and properties of the "Warrior" route are more valuable than those of Backlund.
Derrick nodded: "No problem."
He had already planned to pay the "hermit" an extra 500 pounds worth of materials as payment for the "hermit's" help.
Over the past six months, he has been trading his extraordinary traits for extraordinary weapons with the "Hermit," and most of the "low-sequence" materials in Silver City have already been processed.
Silver City's demand for "extraordinary weapons" is growing, which has forced the Council of Six to order that any extraordinary or spiritual materials encountered during patrols or explorations must be brought back, regardless of their origin.
They even planned to actively hunt monsters to ensure the supply of extraordinary materials.
This is why Silver City can guarantee that it will provide enough extraordinary materials.
After completing this three-way transaction, Odis immediately initiated another transaction: "Please keep an eye out for the 'Phantom Multi-Body Worm's Liquid Brain'."
Caldelia, who was sitting opposite him, was slightly taken aback. She had already obtained the potion recipe from the "Master of Prophecy" from the "Queen" and knew that Odis was looking to buy one of the auxiliary ingredients.
Cattleya frowned slightly. She wasn't surprised that Odis had already digested the potion, since with Odis's help, she had also basically digested her own potion.
But unexpectedly, the "Hermit" didn't intend to familiarize himself with the "Mystic's" abilities any further, and instead began preparing to advance to the level of "Master of Prophecy"?
The other members had never heard of the "Phantom Multi-Body Worm," but they all promised to keep an eye out for the "Hermit."
They could roughly guess that the "Hermit" was already preparing for promotion to Sequence 3.
The latest novel is first published here!
Klein couldn't help but think to himself: This guy's promotion speed is really like riding a rocket.
He then manipulated the "world" and said, "I want to sell something special. It originally belonged to a demigod's puppet, but for some reason, the connection between it and the original body was broken."
Then, after pretending to consult "The Fool," he showed everyone his spoils in "Misty Town."
It looked like an elderly person, with the hair and wrinkles rendered so realistically that if it weren't for the "world" introduction, everyone would have thought it was just an old man in a daze.
Odis immediately recognized him as a puppet of Horamick Hayden, the Archbishop of the Steam Church in Backlund.
At the same time, he realized that Klein had ended the operation in "Misty Town" and obtained the Sequence 4 potion recipe.
Because Odis clearly remembered that during the Great Smog of Backlund, Horamick's puppet had been locked in the "Dark Room" by the "Goddess of Night" along with the "Lady of Despair".
For Odis, a "perfect" pathway, a Sequence 3 puppet, is of great research value.
So he asked, "How much are you planning to sell it for?"
"3000 pounds."
Odis immediately said, "Deal."
Everyone was stunned. Before they could even ask about the puppet's purpose, the transaction was over.
In fact, it wouldn't be of much use to the other members if they bought it back. First of all, they have no use for this puppet. If it were really activated, the archbishop of the Steam Church would most likely come knocking on their door.
Then Klein manipulated "The World" and asked "Little Sun": "Do you have any evil spirits or monsters where you live? Perhaps you call them by other names."
"It is adept at disguise, possesses bizarre abilities, and is nearly at the level of a demigod. After it is killed, its characteristics will gather in its main eye."
If Mr. "Moon" deliberately pointed out "nearly demigod level," it must be to show off.
But when "the world" says this, everyone thinks it's a warning to "the sun," that it's a very dangerous monster.
Alger was filled with mixed feelings: he was also preparing to become a demigod.
Audrey cheered herself up inwardly: I'm already Sequence 6, and I have a chance to become a demigod.
Derrick thought for a moment and said, "It's not among the common monsters, but perhaps someone has encountered it. I'll look up the information or ask around for you."
When he was promoted to Sequence 6, he still owed the "world" a huge debt, and this was the opportunity to pay it off.
Whether the transaction was completed or not, it was done very quickly. After Derrick and "The World" finished their conversation, the magnificent hall fell silent.
A few seconds later, seeing that no one had any other requests, Audrey raised her hand slightly and said, "'The Hermit', we have already traded information about the Third Age. Can we trade information about the Second Age?"
Everyone was stunned for a moment. After the transaction about the "Ancient Sun God" was over, it seemed that there were no more secrets left in the extraordinary history.
It was only after being reminded by "justice" that everyone realized they didn't know much about the Second Age.
The only thing known is the far-reaching war of the gods that took place in the middle of the Second Age.
But considering that the "hermit" had a comprehensive understanding of the history of each era, he must know even more detailed history, so everyone looked at the "hermit" and waited for his answer.
Odis pondered for a moment before saying, "I do know some information about the Second Age."
"The transaction can be divided into two parts. The main characters in the first part are the 'eight ancient gods,' and the main characters in the second part are the 'ancient sun god.' The reward for each part is 5,000 pounds."
Audrey immediately said, "Could we trade the second half first, so that it can be connected with the Tertiary history we traded earlier?"
The proposal was first supported by "The Sun" Derrick, and others were also moved by the reasons given by "Miss Justice," so they began to raise the £5,000 reward.
As an observer, Odis noticed that after Audrey's promotion, she could easily come up with reasons that seemed reasonable and acceptable to others.
In this process, she did not use the corresponding abilities, and she may not have been fully aware of it herself. She was essentially relying on instinct to make "lobbying" in a way that benefited herself.
The distribution of the rewards was completed quickly, but before the transaction officially began, Audrey asked again, "'The Hermit,' do you have any information about the First Age?"
That era is a mythological era that everyone recognizes. Only some vague myths have been passed down, and there is nothing that could possibly be called history.
Odis smiled and replied, "My level is not yet aware of information about that era, but I know how to obtain it."
"But another piece of information I received was that, before becoming an angel, simply knowing that information itself could lead to corruption."
Now is not the time to talk about those things.
The other members were stunned, and they hadn't expected that there really were records about the First Age.
Immediately afterwards, Cattleya, Klein, and Alger, who had met the "Lord of Mysteries," realized that the "Lord of Mysteries" was likely an ancient deity from the First Era.
Even Audrey, who raised the question, felt as if she had found a history book about the mythical era; overall, it was a feeling that reality and fantasy were mixed together.
Klein recalled the intelligence he had previously obtained and realized that the First Era might involve a lot of information "above the gods". He remembered that the "Hermit" had said that some beings "above the gods" would be corrupted simply by knowing detailed information.
"Alright," Odis smiled. "Let's proceed with the transaction for the Second Age."
"Before we begin today's trading, I'd like to ask you all a question. You're all probably quite familiar with the legend of the 'Desecrating Slab,' right?"
Whether it was Derrick in the "forsaken land" or Audrey and Fors, who had not received systematic training in mysticism, they all nodded.
Anyone who has ever been in contact with the Extraordinary has heard the story of the "Desecrating Slate". After joining the Tarot Club, they also learned through their exchanges that it contains 22 "divine paths".
Odis gave everyone a few seconds to recall information about the "Blasphemy Slab" before continuing, "Before the 'Blasphemy Slab' appeared, there was no concept of potions or adjacent pathways."
"Even the hierarchy of the sequence was rather vague, so you can imagine how chaotic the extraordinary world must have been at that time."
"Such chaos is very detrimental to humanity, because other extraordinary races are either large in size or have strong vitality, and they have a greater chance of successfully advancing after absorbing extraordinary characteristics."
"Although they may inevitably fall into a state of bloodlust and madness, at least they won't become mindless monsters."
"Humans do not have an advantage in terms of size and vitality, so for a long time they have been on the periphery of the extraordinary world, or rather, they have not produced many high-level extraordinary beings."
This description immediately transports everyone back to that primitive era, where our understanding and environment were completely different from modern times.
At the same time, everyone once again felt how desperate the situation faced by humanity in that era was.
Of course, the only exception was Emlyn "The Moon," who did not feel despair.
"It is said that the 'Profane Tablets' appeared occasionally during the first half of the Second Age, but few people or creatures saw them, and perhaps because of the short duration, almost no systematic interpretation was made," Odis said.
"Until the appearance of the 'Ancient Sun God'!"
He paused for a moment and then said, "I don't know where He got the 'Blasphemy Tablet' from, but what is certain is that He brought the 'Blasphemy Tablet' into the real world."
"From then on, the Extraordinary World had the concepts of potion recipes and the 'Extraordinary Path'!"
Upon hearing this, everyone took a deep breath. They had never imagined that the "Ancient Sun God" and the "Blasphemy Slab" would have such a connection!
The collaboration between a mythological figure and a mythological item at this moment gives people a feeling that is both strange and familiar.
As soon as Klein emerged from the gray fog, he thought of the ancient sun god's name, which contained the description of "omniscient and omnipotent." He couldn't help but think to himself: "He really is 'omniscient'! He knows all the methods and recipes!"
Then he thought: Could the "blasphemous stone tablet" have been "written" by the "ancient sun god"? It can't be that such a thing was "naturally formed"!
With a smile, Odis thoughtfully gave everyone a few seconds to react, as always, before continuing, "'The Profane Tablet' has benefited humanity the most because the existence of potion recipes has given humans a way to become advanced extraordinary beings."
"As a result, humanity's situation improved considerably, and at the same time, humanity quickly united around the 'Ancient Sun God,' and the first church appeared."
Everyone was stunned for a moment before realizing this concept: the church, which is now quite ordinary, should indeed have a formation process.
Before this, all extraordinary beings were organized into races, with their kings considered gods.
Just like giants, this race worships the "King of Giants." They probably don't have missionaries, but all giants should have this kind of faith.
Alger even went so far as to wonder: Did the members of the ancient races have prayers when they prayed? And what would those prayers be like? For example, did the vampires hope that their progenitor would grant them an inexhaustible supply of blood?
Thinking of this, he smiled and glanced at the "moon" on the side.
Meanwhile, Emlyn, the "Moon," raised his chin. His sudden pride stemmed from the fact that vampires developed faith earlier than humans formed churches.
When Klein heard this, he had a strange feeling, as if he had suddenly arrived at an archaeological site.
Even Odis couldn't help but make a certain connection: the "ancient sun god" seemed to have been a believer in God before he "slept," so he should have been able to easily spread the organizational structure of the church among mankind.
Realizing he had drifted off into thought, he quickly cleared his throat, intending to continue, but Cattleya spoke first, asking, "'Hermit' sir, I'd like to know what script is used to write the 'Blasphemy Tablet'?"
When she asked the question, she glanced to the side, intentionally or unintentionally, avoiding eye contact with Odis.
Audrey immediately noticed the "priestess's" evasive gaze: "The 'priestess' is acting strangely today. Why is she avoiding the 'hermit's' eyes? She's not usually such an insecure woman."
Then she had some guesses. First, she wondered if the two of them had met in the real world recently, but even if they had, there was no reason for them to hide, right? Or had something embarrassing happened between them in the real world?
After thinking for a while, Audrey couldn't come up with a reasonable answer, so she simply stopped thinking about it.
Odis replied, "The content on it is not described in any specific language. As I understand it, the 'Blasphemy Tablet' should be written in a 'script' that any living being can understand."
"Or rather, it wasn't a kind of writing system at all, but rather a kind of symbol that could continuously spread knowledge to the surroundings."
"This symbol is very special. My understanding is that it is a manifestation of the 'activation' of mystical symbols."
"The reason it is called 'activation' is because they can transform themselves into knowledge that different organisms can understand, and different organisms only need to interpret it in their own way."
Caldelia nodded slowly. Although she often witnessed extraordinary and magical things, she still found this answer amazing.
Upon hearing this, Klein recalled the concept of "computer language," which enables communication between humans and computers.
Audrey suddenly had a strong urge to see what the "Blasphemy Slab" actually looked like.
But she knew that this was something she could only dream about, and it was the kind of wish that was very difficult to fulfill.
Seeing that no one had any other questions, Odis continued, "It is said that the 'Ancient Sun God' awoke from darkness, but I don't have much detailed information about the specific process."
All we know is that he suddenly woke up one day in the Second Era, but we don't know exactly where he was sleeping or where he woke up.
"But what is certain is that this deity does not have a so-called 'weak period'. It seems that as soon as he awakened, he was a deity with the 'Sun' and 'Hanged Man' pathways, as well as the unique 'Thief' pathway."
It wasn't that he didn't know, but he couldn't tell the truth. He couldn't very well say that the "ancient sun god" came from a fighting nation and woke up in a nuclear power plant, could he?
Upon hearing this, "Sun" Derrick nodded repeatedly. In the myths about the "omniscient and omnipotent Lord," there are similar descriptions, which say that the "Lord" awoke from darkness and brought light to the world.
Klein, however, found the description a bit confusing. When did the "ancient sun god" fall asleep? And why did it suddenly wake up?
He always felt there must be a story behind this.
Alger had roughly thought of this as well, and at the same time he further thought: "Could the 'Ancient Sun God' be...could it be a deity from the First Age? There were ancient gods in the Second Age, and there were gods in every age after that, so there's no reason why there weren't gods in the First Age."
Fors, the writer and "magician," was completely immersed in the atmosphere of mythology and legend, and began to let his imagination run wild, conceiving many corresponding stories for this legendary deity.
Odis continued, "When the 'Ancient Sun God' first appeared, it didn't seem to cause much of a stir. The world simply changed from five ancient gods to six deities."
"In my personal opinion, it was the emergence of the Church that brought about a huge change in the power structure of the Second Age."
"Because the formation of the church means that the 'Ancient Sun God' already has its own power, or that some high-sequence extraordinary beings have spontaneously united around the 'Ancient Sun God'."
"In particular, as the 'potion system' begins to spread within the church, it won't be long before a large number of extraordinary individuals emerge among human believers."
"'Angel of Fate' Urolius, 'Red Angel' Medici, and 'Pure White Angel' 'Wind Angel' all seem to have started following the 'Ancient Sun God' around that time."
"The two behind are human, while some sources say that the two in front are also human, while others say that they are mythical creatures born from nature. I cannot give a definite answer."
"But in the latter half of the Second Age, their loyalty to the 'Ancient Sun God' remained very high."
Klein resisted the urge to rub his hands together: With the "Desecrating Slab" in place, the Church of the "Ancient Sun God" was like having a cheat code. Just imagine, His subordinates were all calm and rational extraordinary beings, while other extraordinary races were easily angered or irrational. Before the battle even started, the outcome seemed to be pretty much decided.
Alger smiled helplessly: "The hermit" and that last phrase—is it describing a fact? Or is it satire?
Audrey breathed a sigh of relief; hearing this description put her at ease, because it meant that the Hermit's description of the Second Age's history could be as detailed as that of the Fourth Age.
Odis continued, "I have heard two versions of what happened after that, and I personally believe that both versions occurred."
"However, there are some contradictions between the two versions, and they don't seem to be very connected. I'll explain the two versions, and you can decide for yourselves which one to believe."
The other members were taken aback at first, but then thought it was quite normal, since it was history from the Second Age, and it was inevitable that some parts would be vague or incoherent.
"The first version says that the ancient gods took the initiative to challenge the 'Ancient Sun God'," Odis said. "So the 'Ancient Sun God' launched an attack on the ancient gods, successively reclaiming the authority of four ancient gods and ushering in the Third Era."
"The other version of the description is not so simple. In terms of reclaiming authority, some of the authority of the ancient gods was actively reclaimed by the 'Ancient Sun God'."
