Dressed in a skin-tight crimson gown that hugged every inch of her flawless curves, Jennifer descended the private jet like a queen returning to her kingdom. Her long, flowing blonde hair cascaded down her back in waves, catching the sunlight like strands of gold. With every step she took, her sleek, model-like legs drew attention, graceful, commanding, lethal.
Her eyes, sharp and piercing, held a certain kind of danger, beauty that could seduce, and power that could destroy.
The airport runway seemed to pause for her, as if the world recognized that someone of significance had just arrived.
A black Rolls-Royce Phantom purred at the edge of the tarmac, waiting. One of her bodyguards hurried to open the door, bowing his head slightly as she approached.
Jennifer didn't spare him a glance.
She slid into the plush interior of the car, her perfectly manicured fingers smoothing down the hem of her dress. A faint smile curled on her lips, one that could mean anything.
"Take me to SKY TECH," she said coolly.
The driver gave a slight nod, and the car began to move, the purring engine melting into the distance as it carried her toward her destination.
SKY TECH Headquarters.
The glass doors of SKY TECH's towering skyscraper slid open with a soft hiss as Jennifer stepped inside. The reception area had sleek and ultramodern polished floors, holographic logos hovering in the air, and staff members dressed sharply in black suits.
Every eye turned toward her.
She didn't even blink.
Two security guards immediately approached, their expressions professional but guarded. One of the front desk receptionists stood to greet her.
"Good afternoon, ma'am. Do you have an appointment with Mr. Wade?" the woman asked politely, although clearly intimidated.
Jennifer didn't flinch. Instead, she flashed her signature faint smile and tilted her chin ever so slightly.
"I don't need an appointment," she said smoothly, her voice as silken as it was commanding. "I'm his wife."
The receptionist blinked. "I…I'm sorry, ma'am, did you say…wife?"
Jennifer nodded slowly, eyes narrowing just enough to make the woman shift uncomfortably in her seat. "You heard me right. Now, unless you want to be held responsible for delaying his wife, I suggest you make the call."
The security guards exchanged glances. It was clear none of them had ever heard of Kyle Wade having a wife, but her confidence was unnerving. Her presence screamed wealth, power, and something far more dangerous.
"I'll need to verify that, ma'am," the receptionist stammered, already dialing a number.
Jennifer leaned forward, voice dropping just enough to be both threatening and seductive. "Do it. But I suggest you don't make me wait long. Kyle hates delays."
A moment later, Mike's voice came through the speaker. "What is it?"
"There's... a woman here claiming to be Mr. Wade's wife. She's demanding to see him."
There was silence for a bit before Mike answered. "Put her in the VIP lounge. Do not let her into the upper floors. I'll take it from here." Mike thought it was Medley but what would she be doing here, she hasn't shown her face at the company again since the day she met Kyle.
The receptionist nodded nervously and hung up. "Right this way, ma'am."
Jennifer gave a triumphant little smirk and followed.
Inside the VIP lounge, she crossed her legs gracefully and sat like she owned the place, sipping the offered glass of water with poise. Her eyes were already scanning the room.
She didn't know if Kyle would actually show, but one thing was certain, she has his attention now.
SKY TECH, VIP Lounge
Mike's footsteps echoed down the hallway as he approached the VIP lounge, mentally preparing himself for whoever this mysterious "wife" was, he had to convince himself it wasn't Medley, for some reason he didn't see her to be that kind of a person. But the moment he pushed open the sleek glass door and laid eyes on her, his face fell.
"Jennifer," he muttered under his breath, exasperation creeping into his voice.
Jennifer sat there elegantly, one leg crossed over the other, swirling a glass of water in her hand like it was vintage wine. Her red dress clung to her curves, and her gaze was unwaveringly fixed on Mike the moment he walked in.
"Disappointed to see me, darling?" she said, the corners of her lips curling upward.
Mike shut the door behind him, his jaw tight. "You claimed to be Kyle's wife just to get in here?"
She smirked. "It worked, didn't it? You and I both know no one sees Kyle without bleeding through ten layers of security, I mean he hasn't changed at all. But you know how impatient I can be so I simply… cut the line."
Mike pinched the bridge of his nose. "You're unbelievable. Do you have any idea what kind of chaos you've just stirred?"
"Oh, please," Jennifer waved a hand dismissively. "I've known Kyle longer than most people working in this building, except you of course. I'm not here to cause trouble, unless I have to."
Mike narrowed his eyes. "He's in a board meeting right now. You've caused enough of a stir already. His staff are talking"
Jennifer leaned forward slightly, her tone laced with challenge. "I don't care about what they say after all Kyle and I would be married soon, so call him. Let him know his wife is here."
Mike clenched his jaw but pulled out his phone. His fingers moved quickly across the screen as he dialed Kyle's private line.
SKY TECH, Top Floor Conference Room
Kyle stood at the head of the long glass table, presenting to a room full of international partners. He was mid-sentence when his phone vibrated.
He glanced down, saw Mike's name, and subtly excused himself, stepping out of the conference room.
He picked up the call. "What is it, Mike?" Mike was the only one who could make him put his meeting on hold cause he never calls unless it's important
"It's Jennifer," Mike said flatly.
Kyle's jaw tensed. "What about her?"
"She's here. At SKY TECH. She faked being your wife to get past security and she's waiting in the VIP lounge."
Kyle's silence was deadly.
"She pulled her usual stunt," Mike added. "I tried to handle it, but she insisted I call you. I'm sorry, boss, she...she caught us off guard."
Kyle's voice dropped to a growl. "Put the meeting on hold. I'm coming down."
