Chapter 25 - Chapter 25 Master

Elena rolled her eyes at Dan and said,"So what you mean is, as long as the two of us withstand the pressure and don't reveal Dan's involvement in the Bugster Virus incident, Genm Group won't get into trouble."

Li Hua nodded, speaking calmly:

"The two of us will have to deal with all those agents and spies from different factions on our own.The only problem is, we're just ordinary doctors. I fear that once those agents lose patience, they may resort to force—seizing Gamer Driver and gashats, or even threatening violence directly."

Elena stared incredulously:

"How can they do that? We didn't break any laws, we pose no threat to national security! How can they…"

Li Hua snorted, voice dripping with disdain:

"Isn't that exactly what agents are for? If everything followed rules and legal procedures, the police and government departments would be enough. Why bother having intelligence agencies? Especially American agencies—they're famous worldwide for doing dirty work."

"Then what should we do?" Elena asked, panic rising in her voice.

Li Hua glanced at Dan, whose expression gave away nothing, and said:"If we were just ordinary doctors, those agents would act without hesitation. But if someone with enormous social influence and economic power comes forward, they'd have to think twice. Just like Boss Dan.

Genm Group is the world's largest game development company, constantly under public attention. Every action causes huge chain reactions.Against someone with that level of influence, those special departments wouldn't dare act rashly without sufficient evidence. That's why Boss Dan wanted us to approach Tony Stark earlier—so when this day arrived, he could stand up for us."

Elena's eyes lit up:

"Just like with Tony Stark's Iron Man armor—the military and government wanted it desperately, but couldn't just take it by force or use shady methods. They had to hold legal hearings and pressure Stark to hand it over himself. If that's the case, then I feel much more at ease. But Dr. Li, you need to be careful. You're Chinese-American, and things are always trickier in the U.S. for minorities. We should find a way to let Tony Stark take the heat."

A faint light flashed in Li Hua's eyes as he looked thoughtful:

"Exactly. I'm just a doctor—and a Chinese-American one. My position in the U.S. isn't ideal. I definitely need a heavyweight like Tony Stark.

But judging by your reaction, it seems you're not the least bit worried about yourself. Looks like your family background is even more extraordinary than I thought. Not just rich, but… something else entirely."

Elena stuck her tongue out playfully and winked:

"Oh, it's nothing big. My mother's family just happens to own an oil company. But I'm hardly involved with them anymore."

"Oil?" Li Hua muttered, confused.

Dan explained:"Elena's mother's family monopolizes several of the largest oil fields in the United States. Their influence and capital extend to every industry. Simply put—her family literally owns mines."

"Rockfish family? But your last name…"Li Hua stared at Elena in shock. He knew she came from wealth—but not like this.

Elena smiled awkwardly:

"It's not that amazing. The Rockfish family is indeed a giant, but we don't have much real connection. My mother was born there, but she didn't want to be sacrificed in an arranged marriage. She met my father while traveling, fell in love, and married him privately.

So our branch of the family was never welcomed. They barely contact us. When my mother passed away, aside from two uncles, nobody even came to offer condolences.Other than those two, I don't consider the rest family at all."

Dan added with a half-smile:"But one of those uncles is the governor of Ohio, and the other is the head of one of America's top venture capital funds."

"Boss, I didn't expect you to investigate me that thoroughly. I thought I managed to hide it from you." Elena said in surprise.

Li Hua asked, confused:"With a background like that, why would you need to be a doctor?"

Dan replied gently:

"It's because of your mother's illness, isn't it?"

Elena fell silent. Li Hua hurried to apologize:

"Sorry… we brought up something painful."

Elena waved her hand with forced nonchalance:

"It's fine. Watching my mother die helplessly is what made me choose medical school and become a doctor at Holy City Hospital."

Then she suddenly brightened and teased:"But Boss, to think you even know that much—did you investigate me so carefully because you're interested in me?"She threw him a flirtatious wink.

Before Dan could speak, Azu Interrupted sharply:

"Don't flatter yourself. As the Boss, Master simply allowed us to review your background. He has no interest in you whatsoever."

Izu nodded:"Yes. Master only wished to understand his subordinates' situations. Please don't misunderstand, Miss Elena."

"Master!?" Elena's eyes widened dramatically."I knew something was weird about you two twin secretaries and Boss! So this is the kind of… play… you people are into?"

Dan rolled his eyes and shot Azu and Izu a glare. He had already told them—in front of outsiders, call him CEO or Boss, not Master.

Azu stuck out her tongue playfully when she saw his helpless expression.

But Elena just stared more intently, curiosity burning:"No normal company calls their boss 'Master.' Something is definitely going on here."

Dan reprimanded her:"Don't let your imagination run wild. It's nothing improper. They call me Master the way medieval European knights addressed their liege lords.

Elena looked to Izu:"Is that why you call him Master?"

Izu nodded seriously:"Because the title best expresses our reverence for Master."

Elena blinked, then gave Dan a long look:"Is this… personal worship? So these adorable twins are actually just your little fangirls, Boss?"

Azu smiled softly:"To say we are merely the Boss' secretaries is inaccurate. We are the most loyal attendants under the command of a god."Her eyes shone with fervor.

Elena whispered:"That sounds so chuuni… A god and his attendants? Sounds like a cult. Creepy."

She then asked cautiously:"So how did you two become his secretaries?"

Izu replied:"Master granted us life. We are honored to assist him."

Elena froze—then instantly imagined a tragic story: orphaned twins, suffering through darkness, rescued by a savior they worshiped like a god.

She sighed sympathetically as the two androids exchanged confused glances.

"Alright, I understand. I won't pry anymore. But don't call him Master in public—others might misunderstand." Elena said kindly.

Izu and Azu nodded:"Master already instructed us not to, but you two don't count as outsiders."

Elena looked at Dan:"Dan, take good care of them. Don't let them down."

Dan rubbed his forehead:"What exactly do you think you've figured out…?"

Azu laughed softly, resting a hand on his shoulder:"Master~ please treat us even better from now on."

Dan coughed lightly:"Let's return to the main issue—how you two will deal with the U.S. government and other secret organizations coveting the Gamer Driver and Gashats."
