The movie was a complete snooze fest. So much so that I focused on mindlessly opening and controlling the system screen. Seriously, that's all I did and found it more entertaining than the movie!
I glanced over a few times at Elena and her friend Ina both lost in the movie. Elena being to my left and Ina to her left. The rest of the group following suit all the way to the end of the row with the trio of thugs at the other end from me.
The movie ended a few minutes ago as we walked out. Everyone needed to go to the restroom except for me, so I waited for Elena to finish at least. Numerous people passed by giving me excited looks. Mainly the women, but there were a few uncomfortable stares from men with pink on their face.
[Good for you, host.]
'Absolutely not! I don't mind same-sex stuff but for the love of god just let me love women! Don't hit on me!'
Truly, I didn't mind what people did with their lives too much especially if it didn't affect me. But the moment it got in my way…
"Ugh." I shivered at the thought. My poor innocent body couldn't handle it!
[pfft.]
'Is something funny?'
[Nope.]
'Uh huh.'
[Yep. Uh huh indeed.]
The silence while waiting was deadly.
"Ren!"
"Yes?"
Elena ran out of the bathroom reclaiming her spot around my arm.
"I need your protection from a beast!" Her facial expression became tense, putting me on guard.
'Was there a pervert in the women's rest—'
"Ina keeps trying to find out about you… She's trying to steal my bodyguard!"
'—wow.'
I didn't even laugh. My eyes just stared into hers as deadpan as they could get.
"C-Come on? Not even a chuckle?!"
"Hah~, no wonder you attract so many people. Not only are you beautiful but you're equally energetic!"
"Aw~ thank you~!"
She rubbed her face into my arm like a cat would to a hand. It was obvious she was just trying to be more touchy to dissuade the thugs some more. So I didn't really take anything to heart or act like some virgin.
"No problem. Elena the cat."
"Hey! I'll have you know I'm called the wandering w—"
"Ena not fair! You can't flirt any more!"
Ina appeared out of nowhere and dragged Elena away. It was surprising because Elena said she was a rank 2 adventurer which correlated to the second stage of cultivation of either system. So either Elena didn't resist, or Ina herself was quite strong!
[You act like you aren't above them.]
'Just because I have higher cultivation doesn't necessarily make me stronger. I don't even have a proper technique! My raw power could easily be beaten by proper moves!'
[I truly have such a— sniff— good host!]
'A-Are you crying?' I smiled wryly. My golden eyes looking at the blueish-gold screen that faked digital tears. The system was more expressive than it let on!
[Ah! 4 o'clock host. Time to lock in.]
'Pfft. If you say so.' I looked over to my right and saw the three thugs… well, two of them pointing outside.
My fire from before the movie had been replaced with amusement now. Elena and Ina were lost with the other girls talking back in the food court.
'A perfect time to handle it.'
I followed behind them with a straight face. The moment we exited and took multiple lefts into an alley, the blonde one yelled with his foul breath.
"You think you can have her… NOT! This young master always gets what he wants!" He pointed to the various walls of the alleyway, "There are no cameras! This will be where you die for your stupidity!"
My straight face broke out into a genuine smile that carried all the way to my eyes.
"Really?" I asked with amusement.
"Hahaha~ of course! I just entered rank 2 of the mana realm!" He pointed his finger at me with exaggerated movement.
The other two followed suit. The darker one, whose name I found out was Elliot, did so reluctantly but still did so regardless. He was now a partner in crime. One that was going to be spared.
[Are you sure, host? He clearly—]
'System. Look at them.'
Elliot manifested a water arrow, the blonde manifested a fire arrow, and the shorter idiot manifested a wind arrow. All of them aiming at me. If I just let them hit me then I would probably be fine because I overpowered them so much but…
'It's a matter of principle. If I hesitate now then won't I hesitate when my life is on the line?'
[Very true. I'm surprised at how quickly you've adapted to this world. Here I was just trying to spook you, but no need it seems.]
'You stare into that black void, the all-encompassing white space which felt suffocating, the crushing pressure of creation, and the eradicating pressure of destruction and tell me if you would be the same.'
My evolution earlier played a big part in the me now. It wouldn't have been considered evolution if it hadn't. I still shivered at the memory from that chaotic space.
"Now die!"
Swoosh~!
'About time.'
I raised my right hand with a white light covering it.
The three arrows collided with it!
"W-what?!" x3
"So that's what it is…" The white element of absorption was the exact opposite of the void element. Actually calling it the absorption element was wrong as well.
'White void and black void then.'
The white void absorbed all things and returned them to me. The black void was the exact opposite. As for how much…
The white light vanished from my hand, swapping to a black light that gave a scarier vibe.
The three thugs stared in fear with two of them pissing themselves. I, on the other hand, was too curious to see what would happen when I released this black light.
BANG!
Immediately as I had that thought the black light shot out to the three of them. The collision was nearly instant!
"W-BLERGH?!" I couldn't help but puke seeing the aftermath!
Their mangled bodies didn't even resist. Arms and bones inverted. Blood didn't even spurt out but instead compressed inward, turning their torsos into balloons. Their eyes popped out swinging side to side.
Even if I didn't have the hesitation to strike. This… this was just too much!
"BLUERH!"
