With the Elderwood Wand in his possession, Karmit finally held a true wand of his own.
But he quickly discovered something peculiar.
Elderwood wands had an unusual trait:
their masters were naturally drawn toward the masters of rowan-wood wands.
Just like how Dumbledore's first wand had been rowan— and he, of all people, ended up connected to Grindelwald, the master of the Elder Wand.
Such affinity was part of elderwood's inherent magic.
As far as Karmit knew, aside from Dumbledore, no notable witch or wizard in modern times used rowan wood.
He put his wand away.
"Dispose of the bodies," he instructed.
Kreacher and Belinda nodded.
Karmit Disapparated without another word.
Those two would handle the clean-up with professional efficiency.
He appeared instead in one of the estate's upper rooms—a quiet place lined with old bookshelves.
At the far end stood a large, sealed door.
Karmit glanced at it while absently pulling a book from a shelf. He was truly curious about what lay behind that door.
Unfortunately, it couldn't be opened by magic. It required three keys used together.
One was in Karmit's possession—left behind by his late father. The second belonged to Bellatrix.
And the final key was held by Sirius Black.
That was why Karmit needed to go to Azkaban.
He had a feeling that whatever was stored behind that door would be a monumental discovery.
...
The next morning, at Malfoy Manor.
Draco's bed was covered in outfits—courtesy of the clothes Karmit had sent over for his visit to the Muggle world.
Draco stood before a mirror holding up two suits, comparing them relentlessly.
Narcissa sat nearby, smiling helplessly.
"Draco, dear, I think the silver-white one looks perfect. Karmit has a matching set—you always said he looks very handsome in it."
Draco groaned. "But I don't look as good as Cousin Karmit. If I wear the same thing, everyone will compare us. And I'll look terrible beside him."
Narcissa opened her mouth— but had no words.
Because Draco was simply telling the truth. Karmit's looks were unfair, even by pure-blood standards.
"How about casual clothes then?" Narcissa suggested.
"But isn't it rude to dress casually for a first visit?" Draco frowned.
"It might make your friend feel pressured if you overdress," Narcissa explained patiently. "And casual clothes are easier to move in. Who knows? You may explore the Muggle world with your friend."
Draco thought for a moment.
"You're right, Mother. Then I'll wear casual clothes. Can you help me find the set Cousin Karmit gave me last time?"
Narcissa let out a relieved breath.
Finally—this child was exhausting her.
She fetched the outfit, and Draco changed immediately. The moment he was dressed, he darted downstairs.
Lucius was calmly drinking coffee and reading the Daily Prophet.
Draco straightened his clothes. "Father!"
Lucius nodded without looking up. "Eat something first. I'll take you afterward."
Draco sat, though he was far too excited to eat properly. Narcissa hid a smile behind her hand.
She genuinely wanted Draco to make friends—even if that friend was Harry Potter.
Though she worried about the Dark Lord, she trusted Lucius and Karmit. If they had agreed, she would stand with them completely.
Eventually, Lucius folded his newspaper.
"Let's go."
Draco nearly leaped into the air.
He grabbed the gift bags and ran to the Floo fireplace.
Narcissa approached him, fixing his collar affectionately.
"Enjoy yourself."
He nodded vigorously.
Lucius added, "Go wait for me at the Leaky Cauldron."
Draco stepped into the fireplace.
°Floo Powder—Ignite°
Green fire swallowed him.
Only after he disappeared did Narcissa glance at Lucius. "Are you sure this is safe?"
"Karmit was right," Lucius said quietly. "We need a fallback. Don't worry everything will be fine."
Narcissa nodded softly.
Lucius Apparated away.
.....
At the Leaky Cauldron.
Draco waited by the door until Lucius arrived. Together, they stepped into the Muggle world.
A car was already parked outside—arranged by Karmit in advance.
As a traveler from another world, Karmit had never rejected Muggle society. He knew exactly how much power and wealth the Muggle world contained.
In fact, he had been investing heavily there; in his eyes, the Muggle world was far easier to profit from.
The driver greeted them and drove toward Privet Drive.
Draco stared out the window the entire way—eyes sparkling with excitement.
Some from visiting his new friend.
Some from simply seeing the Muggle world for the first time. Everything felt new, strange, and thrilling.
Finally, the car stopped.
"Sir," the driver said, "this is Number Four, Privet Drive."
Lucius nodded. "Give Karmit my thanks."
"I will, sir. I'll return this afternoon to pick up young Master Malfoy."
Lucius stepped out with Draco.
Just then, Draco spotted someone—Harry, taking out the trash.
Harry also saw Draco and froze, eyes lighting up.
"You're here?!"
Draco held up the gifts. "I forgot to ask your name yesterday. So I asked my cousin to check your address, and today I came to visit you!"
Harry's face brightened.
It was the first time anyone had ever come to see him. And it was his first friend from the magical world.
Lucius watched him quietly.
So this was the boy who defeated the Dark Lord. The child who toppled Voldemort.
Draco announced proudly, "By the way, let me introduce myself properly. I'm Draco—Draco Malfoy. This is my father, head of the Malfoy family!"
Draco's voice was full of pride.
Unfortunately…
Harry had no idea who the Malfoys even were.
