Chapter 257 - Capturing the Scholar of Sumeru

"Our declaration of war against Sumeru will not harm the people of Sumeru," Akira said. "We have only one goal to storm into the Sumeru Academy, crush th ose old dogs, and then rescue the Lesser Lord Kusanali ."

"Huh?" Hiiragi Chisato was a little confused. If she really wanted to crush the Sumeru Academy, wouldn't it be easy for her beloved husband to just crush them directly? Why go through all this trouble?

"Life is so boring. It would be too dulI if we didn't add some fun to it." Akira seemed to see the doubtin Hiiragi Chisato and said, "Don't worry, I will blessour so Idiers. They will not die on the battlefield."

"Is that so?" Hiiragi Chisato nodded.

"Have you been wanting to kill those old dogs of wisdom for a long time? Imprisoning gods and using the common people as pawns, do they even deserve the title of sages?" Akira said with a sneer.

"This is insane. They dare to be so disrespectful to even the gods," Hiiragi Chisato said with a shake of his head and a sigh.

At that moment, a samurai's voice came from outside: "My lord, Commander of the Investigation Department, we are ready. Please give us your instructions."

Akira and Chisato exchanged a glance, nodded, and walked out together.

"There are a few thieves in Sumeru who are trying to sell things that will harm the country in Inazuma and want to kill the people of Inazuma. Their intentions a redespicable. Everyone, follow me and bring them to justice," Akira said loudly.

"Yes!" The samurai responded to Akira's words. Inazuma was in dire need of rebuilding, and as samurai, they also hoped for a better country. Now that someone dared to harm Inazuma, they were the first to object.

The samurai who were in charge of the investigation followed Akira and Chisato, forming a large and impressive procession that caused many merchan on the outlying islands to discuss the matter in secret.

The last time the military envoys carried out a mission of this scale was when they were cleaning up the numerous foolish rats on the remote island.

Soon after, the group arrived at the hotel where the Sumeru scholars were staying.

Almost instantly, the samurai had surrounded the hotel, so tightly that not even a fly could get out.

"What...what happened?" The hotel owner stared at the scene before him in embling fear. No, what on earth happened? How could he be treated like this? Even the Lord himself had come.

"Are the scholars who came from Sumeru still living there?" Hiiragi Chisato asked as she stepped forward.

"Yes, sir, they just returned." The shopkeeper nodded hurriedly, not daring to be negligent in the slightest.

"You few, come with me upstairs,"Akira said, pointing to a few warriors. "The rest of you, guard this place strictly. No one is allowed to enter or leave."

"Yes, Your Excellency."

Akira and Hiiragi Chisato led several warriors directly into the restaurant and said to the owner, "Lead the way."

Soon, the group arrived at the floor of Sumeru, where many rooms were rented by the people of Sumeru.

"Search them, take them away one by one." Akira waved his hand, and the warriors immediately separated and violently kicked open the door.

Akira and Chisato also kicked open a door and went inside.

"Who are you?" A man dressed as a scholar of Sumeru looked at Akira warily and said, "Damn it, how dare you trespass on our property! We will appeal to the authorities."

"I am the one who establishes authority, you bunch of bastards!" Hiiragi Chisato roared. "What were your intentions when you came to me to discuss the Void earlier?"

Upon hearing Hiiragi Chisato's words, the scholar's expression changed drastically. He hadn't gone with his boss to investigate the matter, so he didn't know Hiiragi Chisato. However, he knew perfectly welI what the Void was planning to do.

"What do you mean by this? We sell the Void only to help the people of Inazuma learn knowledge and acquire wisdom..." the scholar quickly retorted. "But you, as the magistrate, have knowingly broken the law and trespassed on other people's property. You..."

"Shut up, you bastard!" Hiiragi Chisato scolded. "If you have something to say, come with me to the prison of the Tenryou Commission."

"You..." The scholar's expression changed, and he had no choice but to walk out. When he reached Hiiragi Chisato's side, the void on his ear suddenly turned red, and his eyes flashed with killing intent: "Die!"

The scholar suddenly sprang into action, concealing a small dagger in his hand and slashing straight at Akira.

"You're asking for death!" Hiiragi Chisato's expression remained unchanged. With a single stroke, he severed the scholar's arm and then kicked the scholar away.

Hiiragi Chisato's kick shattered the scholar's internal organs, leaving him utterly dead.

Akira walked over, squatted down, picked up the reddened void terminal from the scholar's ear, and said calmly, "Just wait to die, you bunch of old dogs!"

After saying that,Akira slightly clenched his hand, and the void terminal shattered into dust.

Akira knew that the Great Sage and his gang of old dogs were definitely watching these things, so he wanted to annoy the other side.

However, a clanging sound came from outside, and Hiiragi Senri's expression changed as she went out.

They discovered that some Sumeru people were actually fighting against the Tenryou Envoys with weapons. Although they were not strong enough, the warriors could not defeat them in a short time because of the confined space.

With a mere wave of his hand, Hiiragi Chisato froze these Sumeru people into ice sculptures.

"They're not dead. Send them directly to the Tenryou Commission Enforcer for in terrogation," Hiiragi Chisato said.

Many Sumeru scholars, who were powerless to even kill a chicken, were also directly handcuffed and shackled by the Tenryou Samurai and taken away.

"You stay here and thoroughly search these people's houses. Seal up all the Void Terminals you find and hand them over," Hiiragi Chisato said to the several Konjuro samurai.

"Yes!" The samurai nodded, turned and walked into the hotel.

"Take stock of the losses your hotel has suffered due to this incident, including the time they caused you during their search, and submit a summary report to me. Tenryou Commission will then provide you with full compensation," Hiiragi Senri said, turning to the hotel owner.

"Thank you! Thank you, Your Excellency!" the hotel owner said gratefully. Good heavens, he thought he was going to suffer in silence.

I never expected the current Commissioner for the Pacification of the People to be so considerate of the people's opinions! He's truly a good official for the people! With such a leader, how could Inazuma not prosper!

Looking at his grateful boss, Hiiragi Chisato's expression was somewhat complicated. He had only done what he was supposed to do, after all, it was official business, so why was his boss so grateful? It was clear how arrogant and domineering the previous Tenryou had been.

Because of the loss of people's prop erty in the course of official duties, isn't compensation the due responsibility? Father, the official in charge of the investigati on and assessment before you truly deserved to die...
