Chapter 2 - New World

Leon's POV:

Five months after birth

'Is this how I die?'

With that thought running through my mind, I noticed that the night sky I was just seeing a moment ago was now replaced by the roof of what appeared to be a wooden shack.

There also seemed to be a baby lying next to me who had too much energy for his own good; he was eating his own feet.

Why I was lying next to a baby seemed like an important question, but at this moment, it was being overshadowed by why this baby and I were the same height and size.Well, after some quick reflection (it took a few days),

I finally found out what was going on. It seemed 48 straight hours of gaming and a flight of stairs were never meant for each other.

'Damn that rotten sister of mine; it's her fault I'm here. But there's no point crying over spilt milk; time to make the most out of my new life.

'But in the middle of his 'whatever that was', someone's foot came and crashed into his non-existent balls.

'My balls! Damn you, Lex, now you've done it!'

With that, I started what had to be our fifth rumble this morning. Two minutes later, a woman who I now knew was my mother showed up. Seeing our fight, she wasn't surprised, showing that this was a frequent thing.

"Again with this? I left you for a few seconds and you're already at each other's throats. So? Whose fault is it this time?"And Lex, as if born to snitch, took no time before pointing a finger at me.

'Ohh you little shit,'

I thought, seeing the smirk on his face. So here's the thing: while Lex's intelligence was not at my level yet, his wasn't that of a normal baby. He was more like a two-year-old, but we still couldn't both say much except baby noises, though we could understand the language.

'Two can play that game.' I didn't waste time before also pointing a finger at him.But that only got us a sigh and a face wipe from our mother.

"This is still too early for this, BALCUS!" and it seemed she had no choice left but to call in the cavalry, and like the simp he is our father came running,

With a strong push, the door to our room was shoved open by our father.

"What is it, my love?"To that, all she did was point at us.

"Ohh, the twins are fighting again, huh? Come here boys, want to hear another story?"He said while carrying us to the dining/kitchen, laid us on the table, and started to do the only thing that could calm us down: storytelling.

After he finished reading to us, I finally noticed something that stole my entire attention: the symbol at the bottom left corner of the book. I had seen it before.

A scene started playing inside my head: 'the opening to that chick-loving, man-hating of a game my sister forced me to play in my past life.' That's where I had seen it.

The world before me faded into darkness as I came to a sickening discovery.

'I'm trapped in the world of that stupid Otome game,'

I thought, while the game's theme song haunted my mind.

Leon's POV: 3 Years and a few months old

'Leon fou Bartfort again. Where were we again? Okay, my mother popped out another baby a little over a year after giving birth to me and my brother, and more importantly I'm trapped in this fucked up game where women rule and men have no kind of power whatsoever.

Well, at first my plan was to cruise through life doing the bare minimum amount of work, go to the academy, meet a nice girl, marry her, and retire to the countryside.

But all of that was derailed by one dude.'And as if his eyes were burning, Lex came bursting into our room.

"Come on, Leon, it's time for morning training," he said with heated fervor.

To his enthusiasm, all I did was roll over, pulling my covers over me.

"I don't wanna! It's too early for this, just let me sleep!"Hearing all quiet all of a sudden, I just knew he was wearing that smug smile I hated about him.

"Ohh is that so, did you forget what happened last time you decided to skip practice, you remember right?"

He kept repeating the word right while poking at my sides, and to add salt to injury:

"I KICKED YOUR ASS!" That was the last straw.

"Okay, I'm up, you bastard! Today I'm gonna kick your ass black and blue!" Out of nowhere, I said, summoning strength I didn't know I had to get up.Side by side, we ran (more like raced) to the training grounds to train the art of combat under the few knights sworn to our house.

Leon's POV: 4 years and a few months old

I stand face to face with Lex, katana in hand, ready at today's mock battle.

Scanning my opponent from his giant one-handed axe to his stance, I patiently awaited the signal for the fight to start.

When we both heard a clap, we pushed forward, determined to get to the other first.

Before Lex got into my range, he was already pulling back his hand to give his axe to give it, the speed and power it required to crush my defenses.

But I would not be easily outdone;

I quickly took an Iai stance and used the impact to stop his charge, taking the opportunity to go for his neck, but he used the shaft of his axe to block the strike. We gave each other a smug smile and continued.

Omni POV

"I still can't believe that the young masters are already this strong at such a young age. And I know that young master Nicks is an anomaly of his own, but he is nowhere near his younger brothers. Not to say anything about young master Rutart."

When the final name escaped his mouth, all the joy escaped the knights when they thought about their next lord. One of the newly appointed knights said what they all thought but none had the balls to say:

"You know, if any of Lady Luce's children attempt a coup for the seat of leadership, I would join in a heartbeat."

For that, he got a hand chop on the head by the head knight.

"Keep your mouth under control, greenhorn, if you know what's good for you. Zola has her own spies among the knights, so if you value your head, kill that thought," while the last part was finished in a whisper. The greenhorn didn't seem to get the point and kept whispering:

"But captain, with the difference between Lady Zola's children and Lady Luce's, who would you more like to serve?"But all he got was a sigh, and he finally let it go.While the conversation was going on, the fight finally came to an end. Like usual, it ended up in a draw.

The knights, like usual, started making jokes.

"Young master Lex, how could you? I bet my entire salary on you, now it's gone!" those that bet on Lex cried out.

"Master Leon, you betrayed me!" while those that bet on Leon did the same.

"Hahaha! You bastards still haven't cracked the code yet; their fights always end up in a draw!" and those who bet on the draw option laughed out in jubilation.

With every statement, the boys' faces got redder and redder because they were absolutely sure they would be the winner.

"SHUT UP!"

they both cried out.But all they got were stronger laughs from the knights.

But all quieted down when the lord arrived in the field, with the knights plus the boys getting into attention.

"At ease, men," Balcus said with a sigh, for he had told his men that all the formalities were unwanted, but they did it still. With permission from their Lord, the happy vibes returned to the training field.

"Boys, come with me," he said before turning around and heading for the shed they called home, even though they had a mansion.

The boys ran after their father.
