Chapter 2 - Chapter 2 :- Celestial Meeting

Chapter 2 :- Celestial Meeting

"So, Father, what did Solvath gain from his interaction with the intruders?" Pyraxis asked.

Aurelion Lux, hearing the question, took a moment of silence. No one knew what was going through his mind at that moment, but after a while he responded with his usual emotionless tone.

"When he first sensed the foreign energies, Solvath tried eliminating them, but it seems they have an inbuilt defense system; hence, they only needed a moment of exposure to his celestial energy to assimilate into it."

"What does that mean, Father?" Aethros asked, confused by Aurelion's words.

"It means that the intruders now have the same wavelength as Solvath's energy."

"But didn't you say that the souls are human? How can they duplicate the wavelength of a celestial? It's impossible!" Aethros shouted, his common sense under threat.

"Not without help, it's not," Pyraxis corrected.

"Then this injustice can't be allowed to persist without retribution; otherwise, other celestials will see fit to breach our dimensional walls again! We need compensation," Aethros spoke, his voice filled with clear hatred for whoever had the gall to cross them.

"Cool your spirit, brother. We don't even know who sent those souls through the dimensional wall in the first place, and you need to remember there are other celestials whom we can't mess with. Shall I remind you we all nearly died because of your challenge to TOAA?" Noctyss said, clearly disappointed at his brother's lack of foresight.

Pyraxis, tired of his brothers' bickering, spoke, "Enough, you two! Remember whose presence you are in."

The two, Aethros and Noctyss, turned to their father, who sat at the head of the table, and apologised, "We beg your forgiveness, Father."

Aurelion Lux barely even registered their presence as he just motioned for the meeting to continue.

The siblings shared a look, as even after all their time alive, they still weren't used to the jarring difference between their father (Aurelion Lux) and brother (Solvath).

"Solvath's energy and mine are one and the same, so now whenever my energy interacts with theirs, it is absorbed and integrated into theirs."

"Are you saying that even you can't fix this, Father?" Aethros asked in shock, because to him only a few beings could overpower his father.

"I'm saying that they are already through the dimensional wall and are already in our universe, so if I use any more power, I risk the chance of destroying a portion, which is illogical."

"So what happened to the souls, Father?" Pyraxis asked, getting the meeting back on track.

"Two were forcibly merged, and another was pulled into a temporal gap that was formed due to the collision of energies." Turning his head and looking into the void, he added, "I still sense it 300 years in the past." With that, he finally finished.

To that, Verdyra asked with a sigh

"So does that mean we can't do anything, since our energy is an offshoot of yours?"

The silence that followed was all the answer she needed.

"You woke me up just to tell me there is nothing I can do?!?" Nyxara asked with indignation in her voice.

"Solvath called you to tell you to do nothing but observe for now. You can't let this distract you from your main battle. The Black's avatars are still trying to invade our plane."

"So while the rest of you keep an eye on the invasion forces, Lumiel will keep an eye on the intruders," Aurelion Lux said with a tone of finality, suggesting this was the end of the meeting.

"I'm not trying to go against your wishes, Father, but I have to ask, why me?" Lumiel asked.

"All the souls in the present timeline have set root in your region." With that, the meeting came to an end.

Omni POV.

It was a dark, stormy night, and as if it wasn't enough for those who believed in ill omens, an eclipse was also taking place.

In a shed that lay a few meters away from an opulent mansion, we could hear the labored cries of a woman giving birth.

"You can do this, Madam. It's almost out! Just a little more!"

"I can't! I can't!"

"For the child, Madam! You can't give up, I need you to push!"

Balcus, hearing the midwife's words, couldn't help but clench his jaws.

He had never felt this weak before. Compared to the birth of his two previous children, this one was taking way longer and was taking a greater toll on Luce.

'Could something be going wrong?' 'Will they make it?' 'What can I do?' His mind was a whirlwind of chaotic thoughts.

Seeming to have made up his mind, he stood up. 'I don't care what Agatha says, I have to be beside my wife right now.'

The approaching sounds of his two children, Nicks and Jenna, were what pulled him out of his mind and stopped him from bursting into the operating room (AKA the bedroom).

"Daddy, is mommy going to be okay?" Nicks, already 3 years old, could understand that his mother was in a lot of pain, and while Jenna, at two, couldn't be as intuitive as Nicks, she could sense that something was off.

Balcus did the only thing he could: he hugged his children tight and whispered into their ears,

"Don't worry, Luce is a strong woman, she will make it through." No one knew if he was telling them or affirming it for himself, not even him, but it did work in calming his and his children's nerves.

A few moments later.

The moment he heard crying in the next room, there was nothing he wanted to do more than run to his wife's side, but he now knew he had to hold on, because if he disturbed the operation, Luce's chances of survival would drop exponentially.

After a while, the midwife came out of the room.

"The delivery was a success, both the mother and child are safe. The nun is administering healing magic on Lady Luce, so she is expected to make a healthy recovery," Agatha announced.

"With this, I hope you've had your fill of children, because I don't think Luce will want any more after this." To make her point stick, she even gave him a firm slap on the head.

"Now go and see them. I'll look after the little ones." Few could do that, and even fewer dared to treat the lord of their land like this, but since Agatha was the person who helped birth Balcus, she had a pass to do so.

Stepping into the delivery room, he saw maids (at least the ones Zola allowed him to have help with the procedure) cleaning what was left of the messy room. Slowly approaching the bed, he saw his wife with clear signs of the ordeal she had endured.

"My love, how are you holding?" His voice was what seemed to have roused her from her sleep.

"My baby, where's my baby?" she asked in a flurry.

Balcus, seeing his wife's worry for her child clearly exceeding her own well-being, couldn't help but fall in love with her all over again.

"Luce, don't worry, he's safe, but you, on the other hand, are not, so please rest. I'll bring him to you," he said, at the same time signaling for the maid who had just finished cleaning his newborn son to bring him over.

"Thank you, Alicia." With his son in hand, he carefully sat beside his wife in a way that allowed her to see him.

With a small, powerless smile, she asked,

"Darling? Have you thought of a name?"

"Leon fou Bartfort," he said with a smile.

While looking at her two children, Luce said to herself, "Leon fou Bartfort… What a fitting name."

The parents sat there in silence, not knowing that they were holding the one person who would lead the whole world into a new era.
