Chapter 30 - Chapter 30: Mondstadt’s Little Sun, Klee

Night fell quickly, and most of the Knights on duty were already yawning their way home.

After a full day of overwork, Jean staggered out of the Acting Grand Master's office.

Of course, she wasn't going home.

She was only going out to get more hot water—apparently the kettle she used for her coffee had run out again.

Hiding in a dark corner, Farmas watched Jean's exhausted face and suddenly felt a little guilty.

If he caused trouble now… wouldn't he be making her already overburdened life even harder?

Sharp tongue, soft heart.

The moment Jean left in search of hot water, Farmas quietly drifted in the shadows toward the confinement room.

Inside, little Klee was already asleep—curled up on her small bed, hugging her stuffed toy and snoring softly.

Seeing her like this, Farmas honestly didn't want to wake her.

But restoring his strength was the top priority.

So even if he didn't want to disturb her… he had to.

Unless he wanted to just steal Klee's Vision quietly.

But if she woke up and caught him…

He shuddered.

Farmas tiptoed next to the sleeping Klee, gently poked her cheek… and couldn't resist pinching it lightly.

"Mmm?!"

Feeling her cheek squished, Klee snapped her eyes open.

The next second, she realized someone was touching her face.

"Ah—!"

She was about to scream, but Farmas moved fast, covering her mouth instantly.

However, Farmas still underestimated her.

Even startled, Klee's hands moved on instinct—directly reaching for her backpack.

In a heartbeat, she pulled out a familiar round plush toy.

The moment Farmas saw it, his eyes flashed with disdain.

He hadn't seen this particular one before, but he knew it was a bomb.

But he was the Flame Archon—former sovereign of all fire.

All Pyro reacted to his will.

Stopping Klee's bomb from detonating would be nothing more than—

Boom!!!

A deafening blast cut off his thought.

Klee's bomb exploded instantly.

Although the explosion wasn't lethal, it was utterly humiliating.

"…Why… did it explode?"

The smoke cleared.

Klee and Farmas stood unharmed inside his Pyro shield—but everything else was destroyed.

Tables, chairs, water kettle, bathroom, Klee's custom little bed…

Even the special star-silver door designed specifically to resist her blasts…

All blown into fragments.

"Who's there?! What happened?!"

Jean, who had just returned with hot water and was drowning in paperwork, shot awake from the shock.

The explosion had not only blown the entire reinforced door off—it had also set fire to the surrounding wooden walls.

Crack!

Burning beams snapped and collapsed, bringing a flower stand crashing down.

The fiery debris spread, igniting the floor.

Jean flung open the ruined door—and saw an unforgettable scene:

On one side:

Farmas holding Klee, clearly about to flee.

On the other:

The Knights of Favonius headquarters—completely on fire.

"Mondstadt's… Knights… Farmas…"

With a thud, Jean collapsed.

Overwork combined with extreme stress—

Our diligent, respectable, beloved Acting Grand Master finally fainted.

"…I think I messed up."

Farmas inhaled sharply.

Before he could catch Jean, another door opened—Lisa stepped out from the library, followed by Amber and Kaeya from the second-floor dorms.

Hearing the explosion, Lisa had reluctantly left her beloved library.

And what she saw was:

The blazing inferno, the unconscious Jean, and the two extremely guilty culprits—Klee and Farmas.

"Oh my~ looks like our guest helped little Klee blow up the Acting Grand Master."

Lisa said it sweetly… which somehow made it more terrifying.

"Hey, Cavalry Captain, you're the only one here who can put out a fire. What are you waiting for?"

Her eyes flashed dangerously.

Amber and Kaeya froze at the top of the flaming stairs.

"Freeze."

Kaeya shivered—remembering all the times Lisa tortured him for overdue books—and immediately used Cryo to douse the flames.

Farmas also called back all the Pyro in the building, forcefully suppressing the fire's spread.

Together, they gradually extinguished the flames.

"Amber, go get Barbara from the Cathedral," Lisa instructed.

"Have her help put out the fire—and check on Jean."

Amber didn't even wait for the sentence to finish.

She bolted out the door.

If Barbara didn't come soon, the entire headquarters really would burn down.

Luckily, Farmas wouldn't let it go that far.

As the Deaconess of the Church and bearer of a Hydro Vision, Barbara arrived quickly.

Once the flames were fully put out, she healed the burned Knights.

As she treated Amber's scorched forearm, Barbara glanced at the charred remains of the hall—and the two culprits in the center.

"So the two of you… fought Acting Grand Master Jean?"

Kaeya looked toward Klee, whose eyes sparkled like stars.

Seeing the hall—half turned to charcoal—Klee was absolutely thrilled.

Setting off a giant bomb in the Knights' Hall had always been her dream.

This time, she exceeded her dream by a mile—all thanks to the red-clad big brother holding her.

"Thank you, Brother Farmas! You play bomb games with Klee—you're the best!"

She snuggled enthusiastically against him.

Amber, Kaeya, and Barbara all stared at the panicking Farmas.

"I—I didn't—It wasn't—let me explain—"

He stammered helplessly.

"KLEE!! And Farmas!! BOTH OF YOU—TO THE CONFINEMENT ROOM!!!"

Just as Farmas opened his mouth to defend himself, Jean suddenly bolted upright—revived by Barbara's healing—and yelled with all her might.

Then she fainted again, collapsing into Barbara's arms.

Everyone fell silent.

Only Jean, unconscious, wore a small, peaceful smile.

"Finally… I can sleep…"
